The lighting & sound is GREAT!! Awesome instruction and ruler tips!! Thank you!!
Thankyou so much I had no idea the rulers can be used in so many different ways, you have inspired me to get back to using my rulers.
Yeah-I am
So glad you thinks so. How you have good results.
Sound is good
Lovely to see how this works. Thanks Kate.
Just found you. I bought rulers a while ago and have tried to work them out myself and didn't do too bad but boy have you opened my eyes. Yes you have. Thank you. You are a great teacher.
Thank you so much Patricia. I appreciate you taking the time to share that and I am so glad to be helpful on your journey! Happy Quilting

Hello from Northern Virginia
Thank you Karen for this informative tutorial. Question I have a viking Opals 650 . I've turn the knob to as low as it will go . I have a supreme slider and stitches to zero. However that does not prevent the snow plow effect. Can you give me any suggestion short of purchasing a new machine on how to reduce the pressure. Thank you in advance.
Have you adjust the foot height. You should be able to adjust the position some even with a low shank foot. I don’t have experience with this exact model but I can ask another educator friend of mine.
Can you use the circles on quilts to make all those arcs by just moving down the spaces?
No stable tape
Mine came with the space gauge when i bought my ruler foot and 12 inch arc set but unfortunately i still cannot find my 12 inch arc ruler eventhough i still have the sleeve & have just used it most recently 😢 have aĺl the rest of of my rulers in their original and bits but not my 12 in a real 😢😢 all very strange. Turned my whole place upside down to look for it but still cannot find it.🤷♀️
I lost my spacing gauge in my sewing room and still have not found it :(
No tape
How do you stop your pin from sliding out from these spinning templates? This one is OK but I have just used the spinning wave and the pin would slip out every so often.
You can put a little piece of an eraser on the pin.
Hi kate
What rulers would you recommend for beginning ruler work?
I like the sampler set the Fun and Fancy set and the flower power set as all good for beginners.
Thank you!
I wish you had been my geometry teacher..
It’s funny that was the only math class that I loved and did really well in and it has come in handy! Thank you Ms Sullivan! I have definitely improved in math over the years overall since quilting does use a lot of math and estimations and fractions.
What kind of quilting do you like to do?
@@katequinnoffabquilts Mostly improvisational and art quilting. I'm really just getting back into the swing of things after being super busy for a few years with other things. It's so nice to do something not connected (too much) to a computer! I love your tools and tutorials - thanks!
Thank you too. Happy Quilting!

After watching many of your videos I have wondered if you have a math or engineering background. Your style is very logical and organized and easy to follow. And you are so patient.
Do you know if Westalee is going to have a booth at Paducah Quilt Show in April 2022?
I will try to find out.
I love this template BUT ( there is always that lol ) I am having such a hard time using it with a large quilt. I guess I just need more practice
Bigger quilts can be harder to manage. Rulers do not always make that part easier…
@@katequinnoffabquilts That is so true. I have yet to master FMQ.
Can you use the BSR foot on a Bernini?
You can but not with rulers. You need a rulerfoot. I have some more info on that but I will need to find it for you.
I will look tomorrow.
What kind of machine are you using in these videos?
I have several. What kind do you have? Likely it will work fine. If you need help finding the right ruler tools just send me back your machine info.
I will be using a brothers pacesetter nx200. But I also have baby lock jazz 2. I use this one on my quilting frame. Thanks for your response.
Why are yours so long?
You can always come back to it at a later time. My time slot is 1:30 minutes for Sundays and about 45-55 minutes for Freemotion Fridays.
You vary from VERY LOUD to very soft. It's a horrible experience.
