The speaker was wet inside. When the water dries, the speaker works normally (yes, I just tested it)

That doesn't make sense, if you had issues with the speakers from the first test, you should let it either dry out and/or use a different IPhone for each test so you have a base line. Basically your diluting the test for all the test after the initial one.

I can confirm this is true, it returns to normal after a few days.

I confirm that if you dropped your phone in water for first 30 minutes, it would be fine. After 30 minutes, will have some damage, but it will be back to normal after a while it dried out. Of course, splash with water or under raining is definitely fine for the 7.

It's a bit stupid to do all these tests with the same iPhone. You keep putting a warning sign next to the speaker verdict. How do we know how the speaker would work if we just dropped it and didn't leave it for 30 minutes
Olivia Cunningham depends. No test is scientific, it depends on each individual case. But you can get an app to play a sound that’ll force the water right out of the speakers, I used it multiple times over the years on my 5c, SE, and 6S

iPhone 7 has been known to survive up to 35 feet underwater for 15 minutes. I believe that the phone was severely underrated; even the Galaxy S7 couldn't survive those conditions.
I used my 7Plus 2' below water for 4 mins. Absolutely no issues after use.
However, when using it underwater, my No1 irritation was that the screen buttons and sliders had close to 50% non-responsiveness.
My non waterproof iPad has fell into buckets of water and still works perfectly
All I have is a small problem with the speakers that only last an hour or so

Should watch Everything Apple pros video. Shows that this phone is actually more water resistant the the note 7. Surprising.
Note 7 has a built in sensor when it detects liquid inside it automatically shuts down unlike iphone. Obviously Everything Apple pro doesn't tell you this
That was most likely a special case. Unless Apple is actually playing the rating under the actual value, iPhone 7 is not better than the Note7 in this area.

Oh! You talking about the one he was putting it in a tin can and sliding the iPhone under some type of clothes he placed in. His test wasn't scientific one bit as the pressure in the tin can couldn't equate to the real pressure on the outside. So when he was saying he went 20 or 30 ft down the pressure in that little could still be the Same as being at 2 or 3 ft.
It baffles me that people in the tech industry don't have a bloody clue. Stereo Speakers are only designed to operate when the iPhone is in landscape. FAIL.
It baffles me of your ignorance. The stereo speakers operate in any orientation including portrait. Music or audio never play out of just one speaker.

I dropped my iPhone 6s in water for 30 mins ur probably wondering why I left it for 30 mins I didn't know it was in the water I thought I lost it and I started looking for it then I found it and freaked out everything worked except for my speakers and after a day in the middle of my phone a blue dot started to appear and a couple days later it got bigger and bigger then after a couple days it went away and my sound came back in my phone it was like nothing ever happened

The iphone may have lastest longer, but its days were numbered. They both seemed uncompromised at 25 feet, and both allowed water inside at 30 feet. I think it's safe to call it a draw.

I used to own a Sony Xperia Z, Z1 and Z3 which were all waterproof and the speakers used to always sound funny after i put them in water. They always returned back to normal after a few hours though.
I was in the bathtub and dropped it. I was worried and the speakers didn’t sound as good as they used to be. I let my phone sit for a couple minutes and they were back to normal. All you have to do is wrap it up in a towel and leave it up where the speakers are on the bottom and boom abracadabra.

apple said iPhone is ip67 but tests show that it is actually better than the s7, which is ip68
As far as I've seen, it was a singular test, every article is pointing to it alone, not to say it can't be accurate, but it does need some more looking into, especially since the test was lobbing them into a river in a paint bucket, not exactly ideal for knowing exactly what was going on.

THE IPHONE WORKS FINE! I've taken mine into the deep end of my pool multiple times and it still works the same as before.THE SPEAKERS WORK PERFECTLY AFTER THAT.There is no damage to the top or bottom speakers it sounds exactly the same.

I just put my iPhone 7 under the flowing tap water for MAXIMUM 7-10 seconds, completely dried it off.
The speaker were not as crisp, I could definitely see a problem in it.
Everything else was fine, I just downloaded an app called Sonic, (search "Sonic Suond" in app store) and I played from 160Hz to 25kHz and back down to 160Hz and back up to 25kHz to eject water from inside the speakers.
At the end, the sound was definitely more crisp, but next to the original state, I am not sure..
If you want to put your phone under water, do not try it.
