    Really good and informational video, I learned a bunch and will be going with the Michelin mediums. Thanks

    I'm a Michelin fan. Been using the Extrem recently on a life/destruction test. Very good tyre! Use Extrem with a new 120 Mich mousse. It also lasts longer than you'd expect. Mediums - say no more. They work everywhere - use with the right mousse though. The 140 rear needs the latest 140 Michelin mousse or it will not sit on the rim correctly. Trackers - again, superb tyres, tough and resilient & road legal. Big improvement over AC10 (forget AC10 ever existed). If I trail rode, Trackers would be the tyre I'd use purely down to cost and longevity. The pre-rounded knobs on Trackers look weird but a sharp edge tyre like a medium is really only an advantage on wet grassy off-camber tests, out on the trail this is not relevant. Longevity, toughness, tread depth and low price win for the trail rider. If you want a grippier front instead of the Tracker front, use the the medium front.

      Cheers Pindie, agree with everything you said. I have actually had some practice in with the Tracker as was surprised by the grip. Granted it was dry conditions but it actually surprised me and my son both, also on rocks. Michelin Mediums have been our competition tyres for a while, love them. The Extrem is on a whole other level!

      Dear MrPindie, please help me out. It looks like the Enduro Front 90/90 is actually about 80mm wide, while the 90/100 is truly 90mm. Can you confirm?
      I am using the Tracker in front. But I found it too slippery on wet ground and would like to use the Enduro Medium, however I need an 80mm front tyre...

    Which front would you go for in soft sand? I ride sand islands a lot. I've heard conflicting advice about wide or narrow. A lot of the time it's soft sand ruts from 4wd. Similar to that French beach race in Le Touquet.

      I used to use the S12 Cross Comp as well and loved it. After the discontinuation I tried the S5 Soft and it is great, I highly recommend giving it a try. Depending on your riding terrain they also have medium compound. At least here in versatile Finnish enduro and cross country terrains the soft has proven to be on the same level with Cross Comp S12.

      @@markohonkanen6823 bad news Marko, I've had the starcross s5 soft on for 136 miles and over the weekend I noticed the carcass split about 2 inches where it seats against the rim. Unhappy to say the least..I have a claim started to review the tire. We will see how well Michelin backs their product...I have never seen this happen in 44 yrs of riding

    • @enduroskillstraining
      @enduroskillstraining  3 роки тому +3

      Hi yes, I still love the Tracker tyre for general trail riding/green laning where road work is part of it. It lasts a long time. The tyre performs really well in dry or grippy conditions. Where it struggles a bit is on wet roots/wet grass. If you were to ride in very wet conditions a Michelin Medium would be better but they wear faster.

    • @enduroskillstraining
      @enduroskillstraining  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, yes I did use the AC10 previously, in my opinion, the Tracker is much better. Better knobs design, newer rubber compound which feels 'stickier' but seems to last a bit longer. Definitely worth a try and then, if you want a higher performance tyre for competition then try the Michelin Medium Enduro.

      I run the tracker for trail riding. Lasting ages and much better than the previous ac10 (by a long way). I mainly ride rocky trails and a lot of wet slippery river crossings along the way. For me it does well in slippy wet muddy ruts. No complaints from me.

      Isnt a FIM tyre a disadvantage for a hobby rider because of the limited knobby height?

    • @enduroskillstraining
      @enduroskillstraining  4 роки тому +1

      @@blazter6489 Not at all, taller knobs have many disadvantages also. taller knobs often fold away on harder stuff like rocks/roots/logs. The larger carcass of the FIM Michelin Medium tyres helps with grip immensely.

      That’s what I’m saying. The first number (90) is width. The second is a percentage of the width. 90/100 is both 90 mm width and height.
