    For all you people making totally negative comments about levers scratching the paint. It’s an off road wheel, it will be scratched, it’s what happens when you ride amongst trees, rocks, rivers, just get on with it, shit happens, life......etc. Leave the off roader in the garage, polish the thing and watch tv, or get a life, your choice. There are little items such as rim protectors if you’re really that conscious of marks on the rims.

    It is really easy with Rabaconda, even with a very strong tyre (like Metzeler MC360) and hard Mousse(like Technomousse). My cheap old tyre changer (100.- low Quality, China - style) broke in two where the Rabaconda just did the Job.

    What make tyre was that because i cant get a tyre to go over rims without 15 "FFS!" And a tyre lever in my eye.

    The Rabaconda is a very useful device and big time saver. It's best-in-class at its price point. No doubt.
    * But I just installed two new 1-bar NitroMousses - one in a 505 Cheater and one in a Shinko Fatty - and I can tell you that my experience in no way resembled this one. The only similarity was in the mounting of the first bead. From there on my life was hell, even with $200 in irons, C-clamps, and Bead Buddies.
    * My only point is that there are mousse/tire combo's that go on easier than others. And the spectrum is kinda large. This is why there are numerous honest videos (like this one) showing sub-3-minute installs. Of course, nobody shows the ones that take an hour or more. That's natural.
    * Heck, there's even a vid showing a one-minute install using only tire irons....

    I just used it for my first set of Mousses(Moussi???) It made it simple and easy. Overall time for two sets(No dismounting tires) including putting the tools away was about a half hour. It took more time to lube the tubes and carcasses. I think I will get a tire soap brush lol.

    Why do you save the rim lock for last? I always start with my rim lock first ! So what is the advantages and disadvantages please?

    • @brandonnord5096
      @brandonnord5096 3 роки тому +5

      When mounting a tire the biggest trick is to get the bead of tire into the center of the rim on the opposite that you are working. This allows the tire to shift more towards the side you are working on and thus less need to stretch the tire. The bead lock prevent the tire from sitting inside the rim. Therefore working around the rim and using the space inside for the tire to sit in makes it easier to get the bead over the rim. So getting to the rim lock last requires less work and stretching of the tire. The Rabaconda tire tool just shows off that you can easily push the bead in at the bead lock which is harder to do with tire spoons

    I have never seen such flimsy tyres and mousses as shown in this video. I'd like to see a video from Rabaconda showing changing Michelin Bib mousses and Michelin Desert Race tyres. Thirty minutes would be a good time. Sometimes I just can't do it and it has to go to a professional tyre place.

    • @Rabaconda
      @Rabaconda  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the question! If you are not using bib mousse foam inserts, then the Street changer will be a good option. It can work with dual sport tires as well. For spoked wheels use the strap (included in the kit) instead of the metal stopper pin to fix the tire from rotating. I'll share two video: ua-cam.com/video/oJ3euiI8TGg/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/sldWV7T_z_M/v-deo.html

    • @denali8229
      @denali8229 10 років тому

      Its mostly proper technique. This stand just makes it more comfortable. I change S12XC's all the time, marginally tougher than the SixDays extremes. Maybe a minute longer than the Metzelers for both front and rear.

    • @EdgarLuisCosta

      Denali822 You put 2 rim/tire locks or it´s necessary only one?

    • @Rabaconda
      @Rabaconda  10 років тому +2

      Edgar Costa It depends on how soft is the mousse. In extreme enduro riders prefer very soft mousses and use 2 rim locks. In enduro where mousse sits more tightly in tire, usually one rim lock does the job.
