No, you didn't cheat. I envy you. I live in the southeastern USA, and when we head into the woods, there is nothing but woods ahead of us. No stops at a pub or anything of the like. We've even talked about such a thing... wouldn't it be great to hike a long day and then come upon a bar or tavern to drink a brew and talk about what we saw across our day. Not here...just woods and more woods. We have to take the tavern with us. We would not hesitate to take a side trip to a place to get a good draw. You didn't cheat. You host one of the best hiking channels on UA-cam. Keep up the great videos. All my respect.

Wouldn't call it cheating I'd call it exploring. I lost my mate of 30 years in November. He was my hiking and camping buddy. We drifted apart the past few years. Family life, work...etc. Nice to catch up with old mates. Hoping to get out on my first wild camp next weekend.

To be honest Dan, I started watching your channel because I thought, here's a down to earth honest lad, has a laugh, don't take himself too seriously but is straight forward and honest. You don't use mega-expensive gear, you show your area and proud to be a Yorkshire lad, that's reet too Dan. Plus you've a good heart but don't blow your trumpet. Thee does for me lad. No, not cheating. Camping is not a game. Do what you want, and don't worry about what other people think. But you do need to use a map and a compass. And if you forget something, don't say nothing. It's not lying, it's just not telling the whole truth. Your a great guy. Plan ahead and do your best. Make check lists, and go over them 2 or 3 times. Love what your doing on here. Some stunning scenery and the Lynx EV 1 looked great pitched in it. No such thing as cheating with regards to wild camping in my opinion. Just getting outside for a night is an experience, doesn't matter if you've hiked a mountain or simply pitched in a nearby field. Just get outside, make memories and enjoy.
I wild camp 200 times a year thanks to my job and if my route takes me near a boozer then I’m in it’s about survival and we all know how important it is to overcome and adapt to our surrounding if it means taking in a cheeky pint then it’s a must pal keep up the good work 😉

I like your channel, your genuine and it is how it is ,through you I’ve watched vegan Dan, and Oscar outdoors your all good and honest ,,thanks for taking time to film and edit all this stuff ,,I’ve learnt a lot ,,I’m on a Buddhist retreat at the weekend and you can share a room with 6 guys or camp in their woods so guess what I’m off with a Snugpak ionosphere ,,foil mat air bed flexitrail mini pump ,,4 season bag ,,and gas cooking gear ..what I’ve learnt from watching has made me confident it will be ok and it’s forecast rain I’m looking forward to hear it rattle the tent ,,big thanks from me ,,much love Tony x

No cheating fella and another great video and some fantastic scenery. The gear you use is fantastic and right up my street for my wallet as I don't have lots of cash spare but I do have OEX fathom bag,eurohike sleeping mat and old vango tent. I am not sure if I am better using my mi in stove that screws onto gas canister or OEx jetboil equivalent or the stove that's free standing with a pipe to the gas, those seem more secure with less chance of toppling over. What is your advise Dan. Keep up the good work pal

No cheating fella and another great video and some fantastic scenery. The gear you use is fantastic and right up my street for my wallet as I don't have lots of cash spare but I do have OEX fathom bag,eurohike sleeping mat and old vango tent. I am not sure if I am better using my mi in stove that screws onto gas canister or OEx jetboil equivalent or the stove that's free standing with a pipe to the gas, those seem more secure with less chance of toppling over. What is your advise Dan. Keep up the good work pal
