I live in the lakes, was born here. And always wanted to do this. I have been camping in all kinds of places for years (abandoned buildings, forests ect.) And I finally did my first wild camp up Skiddaw last week. It was the most amazing feeling out of any trip! Since finding this channel and seeing you in my home basically has given me the need to get out more! Thankyou!

Amazing trip and the great time in this barren, ravaged, desolate place. Imagine how it could look like if it had a tad more forests - vibing with wildlife.

Poppy must be so confused with the walking in circles to get the action shots, haha.
You'd need to walk in circles in a tiny area like the Lake District just to convince yourself that you're in wilderness!

Great trip this Matt - I don't get the time to stop by all the great videos on here but managed this one tonight. The scenery was as you say, epic - and the mighty landscape captured really well. Top food there, were the spuds smash ? I need to cook something better when next out. Very Erik Normark with the matches and Trangia burner - happy days mate.

Loved it looked like a great adventure
I noticed you struggling to light the stove, I always use a flint and steel now. As matches and lighters can't be relied on. Good video though.i need to get out but work is getting in the way. Looking forward to seeing the next one.

First class video again Matt, fantastic location as well. My pal and I had a similar location on Saturday night, Glencoe in similar conditions, my tent nearly took off when dismantling it the following morning but we got there in the end. Thanks again for sharing ATB

Nice to see someone still useing the trangia Tip for lighting the Trangia stove roll a little bit of toilet role and drop it into the meths and light that also I use some tin foil as wind brake and in really cold weather I keep my trangia in my pocket lights up loads easier love your videos 👌😎

Hi Matt, I’m the guy with the collie that crossed paths with you a couple of times on day one of your wild camp. Really enjoyed watching your adventure. Looks like you and Poppy had a great time. I did wonder how much the wind was going to get up! Love the drone footage of the mountain vista, and the river tumbling down the valley. Your camera work really does justice to what is one of the Lake District’s less trodden, but most spectacular spots. Love using spirit burners but on cold mornings (or windy) I ignite a ring of rubber inner tube which is kept around my BIC lighter. Can’t believe Englands highest mountain is only 978m, it’s shorter than my local Pirongia.
