Jade the Green Witch Thankyou for this. I'm anticipating a great change in my work life this fall. I'm praying things will get better with the shifting tides as the new academic year starts. Encouraging, positive affirmations are both needed and so welcome. It's nice to find a supportive community who uplift and remind people of their worth. Blessed be. 💕😌

Olive oil in balms and salves usually have a shelf life of 2 years when stores in cool dark places. If you add vitamin e, it can extend the shelf life too and it adds extra nourishment for your skin!

I think the fear of the unknown can be what is most anxiety provoking for me. What will happen in the future, in these strange times? I find that getting out in nature is always my answer. I see that no matter what we humans are worried about, nature is still growing, blooming - and in many places like my home - thriving. It does not live fearful of the future, but thrives in the present. Important for us to keep in mind I think ❤️ lovely video as always!

I'm not bothered by hand gestures. You are lovely on camera. That being said. My son says if you can turn the sound off the video and still get the message, its done 'right'. So, I guess, small screen shots of jewelweed, captions for herbs, harvesting bits, drying bits... Most of your close-up shots of the herbs and cooking are beautiful. Anyway, I like them, they are very soothing to watch. :) Also, I have a round metal thing with little round bump legs on the bottom and holes in it to lift the jars off the bottom of the pot for boiling. Several canning rings placed on the bottom of the pot will also lift the jars. I think especially for older glass canning jars, it helps to keep them from aging the glass and wanting to crack.

One way to make the cooking safer is to put a rack or cloth (like a washcloth) on the bottom of the pan so the heat doesn't come in contact with the glass. There is less of a risk of the glass breaking or shattering.

Just an FYI for anyone planning to make this: I just made this. I love the process and the texture of the salve when it's done, but I'm unhappy with how weak the scent is (almost non-existent). I eyeballed the amount of herbs since this recipe gives no measurements for them. My olive oil infusion smelled amazing and concentrated, but the beautiful scent was eliminated when mixed with the melted beeswax and scoop of coconut oil. I didn't really want to use essential oils, but now I will probably melt it all down and add some in, to boost the scent. Otherwise, I really love this and can't wait to make other salves!

Talking with your hands helps you think and some of us focus better.
One question : can I use essential oils instead of fresh materials?

    For :Annie
    BEAUTY IN THE GREY
does any one see you , you seem so far away
but right there beside us; is the Beauty in the Grey
she doesnt get much attention , so many look and walk away
    she glistens in the moonlight,
and reflects the sunlight as it crosses sky and fades away
she is wonderous and stunning I cant take my eyes away
you lovely reflector of star and milky way
you are simple in your beauty , with elogance in you face
so eloquent is your words, your footfalls full of grace
I dont want to stop watching you ,
afraid Ill miss your glittered embrace ,
    you presence is so warm
my heart flutters from seeing your warm smiling face
    goosebumps cover my skin
from seeing the breathe lift up thy breasts
even the air is blessed by thy warm embrace
you are divine in so many ways , and yet none see it
I cant help feel blessed by knowledge hidden from the masses
they are unworthy of this knowledge most of them vulgar asses
I will continue to love this beauty even when most dont see
this Grey Beauty that holds silver flash in her soul
and her Grey & Silver charms gleam from head to toe
I will forever love this beautiful soul
she is the BEAUTY IN THE GREY

Hi Annie! I have a question: what about the properties of the plants and the optimal temperature of the oil? Have you ever tried to make a salve from a "cold-extraction" oil solution (like leaving the herbs in the oil for 40 days or so)? This one you do in the video is much faster but requires a lot of time "cooking".. Love, love, love your videos and whatever you do!! You are such an inspiration! Thanks for the help!

My sisters are both going through transitions in their lives (one divorce, one chronic illness diagnosis)
I'm so excited to make them some of this salve and put all of my love and compassion into it

I've tried both ways of cooking and I find the stovetop works better than the crock pot. I find the crock pot still too hot on the low setting, but that may depend on the crock pot?

This video is exactly what I needed! I’ve been feeling very anxious lately. It has to do with the political climate. And of course covid. I’m actually very fortunate to have a good job I can where I can work from home during this pandemic. Also it’s outrageously hot here, even for Texas. I haven’t been able to enjoy my garden as much. I don’t know much about herbalism, but have begun to read a bit about the herbs I have in my garden, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Etc. I really love both your channels. They are so soothing to watch and of course I learn things too. Anyway, Thank you so much for making these videos! I am definitely going to try my hand at this salve. 🙂

Man I just wish I knew someone who could teach me all these things, showing me where to find stuff, its purpose and how to use it. Getting into witchcraft is so hard when you live in the city, I feel so disconnected with nature.. I am getting out of here soon.

If you don't have chamomile buds but want to use it in an essential oil form, would you add that while infusing the olive oil, or when you add the beeswax to the olive oil?

I’m vegan also and was wondering the same thing. I would think that soy wax should be fine.

This is one of the very first videos I've come across as I'm starting my own witchy journey and I'm already emotional about you specifically trying to include those of us with physical disabilities. I don't know if the whole community is this inclusive or if this is just you, but it means a lot after feeling so excluded in so many other spaces 💚

I add a few drops of vitamin E oil to salves as a natural preservative. I think it works. Thank you for the tips. I like the idea of adding lemon to cleanse the negative while increasing the positive. Never thought of that before.
