    I finally, after a few years, have convinced my husband that dandelions are good and to stop killing them!!

    narrow and broad leaf plantain salve is more like a neosporin - antimicrobial, good for stings, bites, scratches, burns, sunburns, ect. Dandelion salve is used more often for muscle and arthritis pain, joint pain, anti-inflammatory, neuropathy pain, carpel tunnel pain, and muscle spasm pain, ect.

      It can also be used for eczema. I used to make a homemade topical for my friend and he had it so bad but he said it really helped him out a lot

      Narrow and broadleaf plantain salve? Do you mean yarrow or is it narrow? Just learning, I’m on 3 rd plant😁♥️

    I love dandelions so much and would rather grow them than a pristine lawn! I also make a dandelion/magnesium salve for my diabetic neuropathy.

    Well done! Not to pick, but the 'L' is silent when you say salve, as in a medication. Saying the word the way you pronounce it is a greeting in a foreign country. I don't remember which country. I look forward to more of your videos.

    I have read you can make a great jam and it suppose to taste like honey. In the mts.of North Carolina that make dandelion greens. I haven’t tried them.

    So I was trying to make the infused oil and I left it in a dark cabinet for 5 weeks. When I opened it the jar “popped” open and it smelled rancid. Do you think I didn’t let the dandelions dry out enough? I let them dry 24 hours. I used organic extra virgin olive oil if that makes a difference

    Cami!! I 💛 this so much!! I’m looking forward to trying this out. Although, I may have to look into purchasing some dry organic dandelions. I started a Materia Medica binder, with a glossary of terms, different plants and their medicinal properties. There’s so much learn!!!! I have a question. My beloved & I just harvested Yarrow, that we grew from seed. As we were harvesting (removing the flower top, and separating the leaves), we noticed these tiny bugs. That was a bit frustrating. We placed the yarrow in the freezer in hopes that the bugs would die. Then we will place them in the dehydrator. What would you suggest when harvesting a medicinal plant, so that you have just the plant 🌱 & not any bugs? 😬

    I am sharing this with my mom, she makes a calendula salve that is really awesome. She used to make essential oil lotions and sell them at her farmers market but the taxes and insurance to keep her business going were to expensive. But she still makes them.

      Hello Rachel
      As an artist I too find being taxed taxed then taxed again very challenging when selling my creations. We need to stand up to this by selling privately. The gov created this reality by triple taxing us out of the sphere.

    • @Rachel-uj2vq
      @Rachel-uj2vq 2 роки тому

      @@thunderbirdsigns yeah its sad, i agree with you on the private sales. My mom was way ahead of her time because all of the products she used to make and sell at her market are really big now. Goats milk soaps, lotins and salves have really taken off in the past 3 or 4 years. Unfortunately she just does it for fun now.

      I too have battled the dreaded fuzzies. 😁 Next batch I’ll try picking them, deflowering (removing all green) immediately & *then* spreading out on a mesh to dry 2-3 days just in a room temp room. Heat seems to make them worse. Good luck to you!

    I have just made some dandelion salve using the cold oil soak method, having squeezed out the oil from the dandelions I was wondering if they could be used again in another infusion or something else ? 🤩🫶
