    I think you found your calling on youtube, give it time, your subscribers will definitely grow as more people become aware. Your videos are excellent, step by step and to the point, my favorite so far while trying to learn the SDK. So many other people just skip steps, click too fast and not say what they are clicking on or do not explain why they are doing something, assuming everyone knows what they are talking about which most have no idea. There are people looking for this. It would be nice to see an overview video of the SDK explaining what you can do with the SDK, drop downs, where to find different objects, what the different sub-components boxes do. Excellent job on your videos so far, going to watch them all and future videos.

      Thank you. The reason I started doing this is that I had to watch my first tutorial about 50 times to get it right and fill in the blanks. The creator was so good he rushed through the steps. It was too fast and I could not read the details on the screen. I thought, there has to be a better way to show folks. I will consider your requests once I cover all of the basics I want to cover. Thanks for the encouragement. I almost quit a month ago. It takes many hours to put a good video together with CC and the analytics seemed to show people were not watching much of the video. I like doing it but I can do others things if the videos are not useful.

      That is good to hear. This video is a year old, and I have made many since. I am happy it has aged well. Thank you for watching.

    😀 Thanks for the Video. I live in Spring Hill and have flown out of that airport a few times. Very nice!

      Good to meet you, Roger. I know some people from that area. I worked with people in The Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne areas and several lived in Spring Hill. I live a few miles from this MQY off of Sam Ridley West. If you are interested, I am doing a series where I am making a fictitious airport near Nashville Super Speedway. Part 1 is here. ua-cam.com/video/o-s_DXuvr9E/v-deo.html

    Your videos are the best! - However, I was not successful with my first package. Even when I integrated a thumbnail in the inspector, there were no layout and manifest files generated by the SDK. So my scenery did not change. - I found that in the folder original SimpleScenery the file SceneryProject is a "Microsoft Edge HTM Doc.". I suppose it should be a XML file? Could this be the source of my issue?

      Thanks for watching. This video is one of my oldest, but the algorithm will recommend it because of the number of views. Try this video and see if it gets you over the hump. ua-cam.com/video/MXPL0n0kA_4/v-deo.html As for the XML, typically, you look at it with a text editor. You might have opened a text document with Edge at one time. Windows tends to remember the tool you used last. I would use Notepad, but I prefer Notepad ++; I would download Notepad ++, which is free. You can right-tick on the XML, select "open with," and use Notepad to open. If it continues to default to Edge, it is okay. It will only matter if you eventually need to edit an XML. I hope this helps. Let me know of you continue to have issues.

    Thanks for your great tutorials ! Hope you can help me with the polygon part (5:27) I'm not able to get the polygon drawn, when I press add the only thing i see is a small cross cross, but impossible to draw the lines together. This means i can not continue after min 5:27, greetz from Holland !

      Hi, Justme from Holland. Could you let me know if you are doing this? Press add. Next, press the left control and keep it pressed until the polygon is complete. Next, tick the left mouse button to start an anchor point. As you move the mouse, tick the left mouse button for each anchor point you want to set. Once you are done, you will double-click the left mouse button. Now, you can release the left control.

    Is there a way to test scenery changes without having to restart sim?

    • @patriotsix5880
      @patriotsix5880  Рік тому

      In essence, you are testing the scenery as you build. So what you see is what you get. There are uncommon situations, though. For example, if you add scenery to a congested area like a payware airport, MSFS may not load all assets in Developer Mode. I always run into a situation where I build; only default objects are in the simulator. The only way to see everything working together is with a restart.
      I teach people to restart because it is less complicated than going through all the possibilities. You ask a specific question, and that is good. Just so you know, I can answer that. The result is dynamic and challenging to project. Therefore, the easy method is to teach folks to restart.
      Do you think this answer is helpful, or do I need to add more details?

    yo is it possible to edit 3rd party scenery like payware scenery? i want to replate the apron lighting with different colored lights

    • @patriotsix5880
      @patriotsix5880  2 роки тому +1

      Maybe. I have only tried it once at KATL because both the Asobo Tower and the payware Tower are present. I asked the payware creator to take a look and fix it but all I got was the runaround. So I gave it a shot but I was unsuccessful. There is a provision in SDK where you can overwrite an existing airport. I have done this before but only at a small insignificant airport. I am not certain about the consequences of messing with a larger airport. I have been planning on making a video about editing existing airports. Maybe I can get to it this week. The thing to remember is that you really cannot do permanent damage because all of your work is in the package you are working on and undoing the work is as simple as deleting the package. I will do my best to get a couple of airport videos out this week. Making videos is a pain in the ass. LOL, It takes so much time to do a good video. Good luck.
