    I have a 2019 Sport Glide and am very happy with it. I agree with you on all of the dislikes though!🙂 The short front fender is absolutely useless, but this is a typical Harley styling choice over function. I really don't like the L/R turn signal switches at all, very uncomfortable (the right hand one) and annoying to use. Something you just have to live with. The gap under the rear fender is inexcusable imo. Shame on Harley for not addressing this. The electronics under the seat are exposed to water during rain rides. I covered mine up easily enough but that should not be the owners job. I have one dislike you didn't mention - the single disc front brake. It is "adequate", but I really wish they would have added a second brake disc. This bike is still pretty heavy and with a passenger and full touring luggage load a second disc brake up front is in my opinion a necessity. A very poor choice on Harleys part from a safety perspective. Overall I still really like the bike though and am happy with my purchase.

    Harley L/R is so much better than a one-sided level! I wish the front fender was longer too....it would look so much better.

    We agreed with some of your points
    1) Speedo. It is because of the Full Face Helmet... we suffer this with it but when we ride on the 3/4 Helmet... is not that bad.
    2) L/R Indicators... give it some time... we suffered also at the begining, but with time you will master the technique.. I still prefer everything in the left side though
    3) Seat Strap. Not an issue for us. Actually it so handy if you want to hold an action cam. we use it a lot :)
    4) Short Front Fender. 100% with you... the worse thing of the SportGlide
    5) Gap Rear Fender. We didnt even know about this
    6) Kickstand... Sometimes seems not secured, and we need to double check, but also happened to our Sportsters... maybe an endemic issue with HD.
    7) Bad Desicions... its always the same with HD. Check the Iron. All black except the chrome derby cover... this one is the oposite... seems they do it on purpose to make you buy accessories....

    The main thing I hate about my 21 SG is the handlebar height. I’m 6’1 and had 12” mini apes with 2” riser extensions.
    Game changer. Long rides are great now! 👍
    Also Stage 2. Boooom!

      I agree with you! The 11" mini apes with the Fat Boy risers works like a treat for me! Very comfortable indeed!
      Take care!

    The thing I’ve never liked the look off on the sport glide, it’s the exhaust bending in front of that gorgeous looking V-twin……spoils the look in my book.

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, it would look better if it didn't bend in front of the engine, but I don’t mind it too much and as I might get a full exhaust system I will have that "problem" corrected. Take care my friend!

      The Cobra sounds great, but personally, I think I prefer the sound of tbe Reinhardt. It is just a shame they don't do one with a second O2 sensor for 2021- bikes and the ECU needs to be flashed, but then some people are plagued by the engine light coming on because of that 😞

    very good points about the dirt getting in way to far , better protection is needed , also the m8 range softail side/kick stand is rubbish , and i never am sure about it .

      Thank you my friend!
      During the upcoming winter I will be fixing that gap on the fender and protect the oil cooler too.
      The kickstand is a bit dodgy, I always kick it and hold it with my feat to make sure it doesn't move. I have seen somewhere someone who swapped the kickstand for one from another Softail model, can't remember which one, apparently works better.
      Take care!

    Can get extenders for indicator switches if u have short thumbs. Agree front fender useless.

    2) If I use soft gloves - summer - I don't have issues with RH indicator. I have issue when wearing winter gloves - creating H&S hazard - accidentally throttle up - so in this case I am not using RH indicator.

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  Рік тому

      My gloves aren't too thick but not as a soft and light as a proper summer glove so that might be the issue.

    How mutch better is the Harley than the Vulcan S, in you're opinion? The thing i love about all the Japanese brands is reliability.... You just can't beat it!

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Sam!
      That's actually what I will be speaking abou on the video to be released on the 16th of July ;)
      The Sport Glide is better in everything, might not be 2 times better or more (like the price difference between them) but it's worth it for the huge smile it puts on my face!
      The only thing I whish I had on the Sport Glide is the very light clutch of the Vulcan S.
      I just did about 1000 miles fully loaded and with a pillion and I barely noticed a difference on the way the bike behaved, I was extremely surprised by that!
      Take care!

      @@MOTOSPELL Ok it's going to be interesting. In Sweden, you can get 2,5 Vulcan S for the price of one Sport Glide. I understand that there must be a big difference in the engine, 1750cc vs 650cc. The HD has lots and lots of tourqe... But how is the handling on HD compared to the very flickable Vulcan S? How about the weight differnece? How is the MPG or L/km? I'm looking forward to that video, have a great day, and ride safe!

    • @MOTOSPELL
      @MOTOSPELL  2 роки тому

      Sorry my friend, long post ahead!
      Yeah, here in Scotland a brand new Sport Glide costs around £17k, the Vulcan S £7k, so yeah it's a big difference and I address that on the upcoming video, but there isn't £10k worth of differences there... at least I can't find it ahaha
      The engine is very smooth and powerful thanks to the huge amount of torque, but it terms of speed it is just as fast as the Vulcan S.
      Handling is great to be fair, this bike is extremely well balanced so you don't feel that much the huge difference in weight, in situations like when the bike is parked on the camber side of the road where it leans a bit more on the side stand it take a bit more of an effort to get her upright, or even if you have to back it up uphill, then yeah, you will feel that extra weight. Slow speed manoeuvres are fantastic on this bike.
      Of course you feel that she is not quite as nimble as the Vulcan S, but the difference is minimal and you soon adapt to it. I don't ride that fast but I do like my twisties so I can't help but opening the throttle a bit more on those situations ahah and she is happily thrown from side to side :D now, the Vulcan S has a higher lean angle (32 vs. 29) so of course you will be able to push her a bit more.
      Fuel efficiency: the video is actually a bit outdated now (video was recorded in April), I did quite a few more miles on the bike so now my average is 4.82L/100km (was 5L/100km), on the Vulcan S, believe it or not my average was exactly the same!
      I hope it helped, my friend!
      Take care and ride safe!

      I have to say, although the Sport Glide monoshock works for me, the monoshock on the Low Rider ST is something else! Loved that!

      Nahh, as much as I like the looks of the fatboy, the Sport Glide is way more versatile and nimble.
