I have a 2022 Sport Glide that I had custom painted, plus added heritage tank badges as I thought the colour range was boring (the one I got was originally creamy white), as was the tank decal. Aftermarket parts included: a pipe slip-on to improve the sound; a 15" windscreen (what were they thinking with that dinky bit of plastic?), running boards and wider brake pedal, back rack, and a reach seat (I am a short-arse gal). The main market for the Sport Glide is people, particularly women, who want something bigger that the dinky Street 500 and its recent replacement models, but not something as big as a Road Glide or Street Glide. I use mine as a tourer and put 20,000 km on it in the first 6 months.
Don't go making another great harley into a Girls bike! You all dam near ruined the sportster with that tag! Ride what ever you want, just don't start calling it a woman's bike, go get a Hayabusa!
I have bought in 2021 the SG colour snake venom. In the meantime ohlins in the front, Saddleman seat, stage II with the J&H’s (100hp) Longest ride one day 840 km. No probs. Very happy with this bike. Looks great and rides like the wind.
I own exactly the same bike as you are reviewing, couple of facts that said weren’t quite right, the bike is 318kg not 350, the 350 weight takes you into road king special territory. The tank range is around 230 miles and the colour is Atlas Silver.
A superb bike which is a big seller here in France (and obviously in many other places as well) and I can't understand why it's no more sold in Harley's home country...
I'm in America and I'm about to protest Harley to bring Sport Glide back to America. It's best all around bike the6 offer and has perfect blend of chrome and black. It's my favorite bike they've come out with in a long time but I can't find one that hasn't been desecrated on the market. It's like the Breakout, you don't change it, cuz it's almost perfect stock besides minor things like handlebars and slip ons. Is there a way I can buy a 2024 model from Europe in America!? Also what exactly is different with emissions on it!? Or any difference at all?
Love my 21 Sport Glide...done 16k on her since last year and been all around the UK. I couldn't stretch to a full bagger as didn't have the £££ so next best thing was a SportGlide. Great for cruising/touring and when you wanna get frisky, she handles great and oodles of power. Stage 2 is next on the bucket list.
I’ve got a Stage 2 2019 Sport Glide, I’ve added Ohlins on the rear and upgraded springs in the front, goes and handles really nicely, done lots of European trips, great bike.
I bought mine new in 2018 there are some issues you may get that are common. Petrol cap rattle, if you start getting a weird engine noise put your hand on the cap if it goes away then its the cap, the noise is on a off also. instrument fogging, mine gets condensation inside the glass, I never asked for a replacement as people were moaning that it also then happened on their replacement after some time. Problem I currently have is not common I think but occasionally when I go to start my bike the starter motor goes over once, then nothing, it also resets the clocks, I think its a dodgy solenoid, haven't explored it to much as the bike starts the second time I press the starter, only happens once every three months.
Bought mine here in the US in 2018. They no longer sell here, but you see them listed on Facebook Marketplace with no miles, by older guys who bought them during Covid and didn’t ride them. First thing I did was to add rear saddlebag guards so you can lose the saddlebags when you don’t use them. It cuts down on the weight when doing city driving and one less worry someone will break into if you park it. You mentioned the sportster, and I had one to commute to work. Only needed to get up to maybe be 50mph for morning rush hour and maybe 25 during evening rush. However the sportster is a death trap on the interstate. It has no fuel gage for a novice rider who easily can run out of fuel and it shakes so badly you can’t see anything in the rear view mirrors. That is why I bought the SportGlide. Stripped and running with 1/2 full tank you are at 650 lb and only about 125 lbs heavier then a sportster, but the SportGlide is both a city and a highway bike and great for smaller riders and older riders who want to get away from the monster touring bikes.
Hey chief, I'm 59 years old. About to get my endorsement and I will be looking at the sport glide as my first bike I've EVER owned. I like the 107ci. This bike ,and, the low rider standard-is the other "first bike owned" I'm considering to start my motorcycling career with! I think both are a good starter's bike for me(5'9", 270lbs).I'm considering wide white wall tires and engine guards as well. Doug
I had the Sportster 883 and rode out on Boxing Day down to the Costa Del Sol through freezing fog across France, frosty early starts near the Pyrenees and the length of Spain. No punctures no starting issues, it never missed a beat. Not so me I was frozen most of the time in just a leather jacket and jeans and so decided to put me and it on a Brittany Ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth on the return leg and instantly regretted not riding it when we left harbour into a Force 10 heavy seas! 🤮 These machines are built for road trips! If I did it again, it would be in my Range Rover Sport!
I have bought an 2018 because the Euro4 Zertification. The sound is better than euro 5! On top is the jekill&hide exaust. it will bring much smile in your face 🙂
Great review Sir! I love my '18 SG. I got the 1st one that came into my local dealership in Feb '18 and have loved her ever since. I wanted to do a Stage II, but at the time HD had no pipes (that were authorized without voiding the warranty) so by the time they were available, I had other priorities. I did swap out the stock fairing for an El Diablo from LA Fairing Co; added Kuryakyn mini-hex floorboards; and 4" pull back risers which put me in the perfect riding position. Keep up the great work and ride safe.
At least ya'll can still buy this!! My dream bike and they dont sell it in America since 2021! I cant find a stock new 2021 or at least one with super low miles almost new. Also I want to buy new 2024 model but only available in Europe and Middle East. I want vivid black. I want it so bad man!
The best mod for the sport glide is the Advanblack Lowrider ST style frame mounted fairing. 6" risers Seat upgrade Stage 2 upgrade V & H 2-1 Powersport 👍
I owned one (bought new ‘21). I had sticky front fork seals, so i doesn’t has suspension. All must be dissembled! And there was a lot of rust after one week and driving in rain. The 2 holes in the back suspension frame. The diagonal pipes has holes with rubber plugs….where streams out rust, orange fluid ….all over!! They glued it…🫣. Further the seat is bad and gives no lumbar support. I am 6,2 and too long for this midget size bike😅😅😅😅
WoW, so not a bike for our wet European climate, I guess. Since I don’t have a garage, my BMW R100R stands under a rain cover for 30 years now. No problems with rust. Upgrading to a Sport Glide came to mind a second...

🤷🏽♂️
Apparently Harley thought it was taking sales away from the Heritage which was a bigger profit bike for them.
And also didn't want it to compete against the Lowrider ST when that was released@@andrewkitchenuk

Stage 2 would be great 🏍️ 💨
What's it like on the motorway?
@jmoz was fine at speed to be fair - a good cruiser. You can get a bigger fairing windshield for it which would make it a bit better
I've got the 5.5" HD screen on mine and at 70mph on Motorway it's fine....I'm about 5'10" btw.
@@maxsteele20 sounds perfect!
Sport Glide 2021 - мой первый Харли. И я очень доволен им. StageII прибавило веселья. Не понимаю почему их так мало на дорогах
Put some floorboards on it, game changer.

I think it would be perfect! Enjoy
Love my sport glide! Thanks for the video
Having owned 2 Sport Glides in the last 4 years my problem with it is that I'd love a Street Glide but can't bear to part with the Sport.
Great review. Do you think it’s ok for 5'4 tall people ? Thanks
I think it would be fine to be honest
I'm 5'4" and it's fine for me.
I bought a 2020 Sport Glide. Awesome bike to ride and tour on. I put the Tour Pak and a Mustang Seat on mine. Makes a diffetence.
Very nice!
What seems to be the problem with the Sports Glide is that you have to get off it at some point to go to sleep ?

This bike is maybe 3/4 bikes in one.. it’s androgynous it can be what you want
Do you think it’s ok for 6‘1 tall people ? Thx.
Yes I think it would be fine - I’m 6 foot and it felt fine
I'm 6'4 with long legs and it's more comfortable than a Street Glide or any of the touring range for me.
Hi, does a jacket fit inside these side bags? I mean a motorcycle leather jacket
It would be a tight fit I think
@@thedoctorsgarage thanks for the answer, it would be useful though I mean folding the jacket so to leave it inside the bag ...can you try ?😅

Did he really say that the left bag was bigger???

I'm sorry, I don't understand the slam of this phrase?🙄😫😲🏍️
Sorry but this sport glide is around 320 kgs full ready to ride not 350, a great bike but not a heavy bike compared to other harleys
My buddies 1200 sportster is just as fast as mine . Like wtf
