I have fitted the PUIG Dark Smoke Windscreen from an Italian Supplier and I Find it to Very Good at Higher Speeds with absolutely no Buffeting it's about 8 or 8 and a Half Inches tall.
Sold my 2020 with the intention of buying a Road King but just placed an order for a new Sport Glide here in the UK. At 6'4" tall it fits me much better and I love it.
@@buffaloharleychick Not much, tank paint job instead of the badge which I preferred, single fuel cap/ no dummy on the left side, so looks a bit uneven and that's about it. Won't be selling my new one for a long time, getting rid of my old one was a big mistake.
Great video! I'm glad you like your FLSB! Mine is an '18 (1st one the dealership got in) and 5 years later, I still love it. I'm 6', but I wanted to have a more upright riding position so I added the 4" pullback risers as well. I also added the Memphis Shades hand guards, they help with the cold air and keep various and sundry road debris and hard-shelled bugs from whacking my knuckles! 😆I tried the Klockwerks windscreen, but got rid of it because it channeled the wind from my helmet underneath the fairing and up my chest and under my helmet so it found another home. I ended up picking up an El Diablo fairing from LA Fairing Co and it not only looks great, but does a good job of keeping the buffeting down. It has the added benefit of creating enough space in front of my handlebars for a small bag for sunglasses, etc. Keep up the great work and ride safe!
Thank you! Glad you’re still loving yours. :-) I bought hand guards and got the wrong ones so i need to get the memphis ones for sure. Ride safe and keep the shiny side up brother!
While looking at reviews of the Sport Glide, I found your channel, great review. I'm heading out tomorrow to look at a '21 to possibly downsize from a '15 Ultra Limited. The plan is to get either a SG or an older Low Rider and add an Advanblack ST style fairing to it. It's a tough decision with quite a few $$$ involved, but I think a lighter touring bike will do this old guy good. As you say: "Keep the shiny side up".
It’s definitely a difficult decision between the Sport Glide and the Low Rider. They’re very similar but the same year the SG has more than the low rider as far as comfort for long distance riding. Good luck. If you go with the SG im sure you won’t be disappointed! I love mine 15k miles later. :-)
glade to find you at the right moment, which i ll be riding my new 2018 sport glide next week !! i love the way you made your video and way you address everything ! look forward for all your other videos... ill be subscribing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much! Congrats on your new sport glide! It's a really great bike and I think you'll love it. It's great for riding around town or long distance. I'm on my third season with mine. Let me know what you think of yours!
The Sport Glide is still available new, globally except the US. For me it’s the perfect mix of Lowrider and Tourer. I’ve no interest in the Lowrider ST but obviously Harley US though the Sport Glide to similar and discontinued it in their domestic market.
That's right! I forgot it's still available outside the US. The bags on the Lowrider ST are actually the exact bags from the Sport Glide. I honestly love all motorcycles, but the Sport Glide checked every box for me when I was ready to upgrade. 🙂
If the Sport Glide is too similar, it's too similar everywhere, not only in the US market. Weird decision since I know the Sport Glide is the best Harley sale here in France. BTW, I'll buy one in two months.
Hello, great pros and cons..... I love the Sport Glide, here in Europe is stilll available brand new, I think it is the same in Asia and Australia. Probably Harley was loosing money in the USA as people were opting for this model and not buying larger, more expensive bikes. Here in Europe big touring bikes are less popular (but I love them...), it might be because our roads and towns are much, much smaller!!! And the price..... I like the 107 engine, nothing wrong with it, but bigger might be better... I have a stage 1 fitted with Rinehart exhaust and I cannot find much difference with 114 stock.
All those points make a lot of sense! I like the 107 as well. I have not had any issues with it at all. At some point I might put a new exhaust and stage one, but for now, it is quite sufficient.
Hello buffalo Harley from England thanks for your honest review I've just purchased a sports glide in exactly the same colour as yours there aren't that many in that colour over here you never see them thanks for the review again another reviewer that's helped me with my purchase I've just subscribed to your channel hope to see more of your adventures in the future
Awesome! I hope you love it snd get to crush a ton of miles. Yeah the windscreen is useless. I love my 10 inch screen i got from Klock Werks. Makes a huge difference.
Change out the pegs to floorboards. kuryakyn do several boards for this bike, really make a huge comfort difference. I've got a Lowrider ST as a loan bike atm, whilst my SG is in the shop.. Love the 117" engine on the ST but the SG is better in my opinion for day to day use... The ST just wants to go fast and be abused. :) Will be going for a Stage2 on my SG at somepoint. Lovely bike and will be keeping her for a few years, glad you're enjoying yours...have yet to meet a SG owner who does not like it.
I actually have the Kuryakyn mini boards and I love them! I hated the stock pegs because they would hurt the arch of my feet after long rides. A stage 2 and new exhaust are on my list for future upgrades. I will probably test ride a Lowrider ST in about a week just to see what it's like, but I love my Sport Glide and won't be trading it for anything for a long time. :-)
Hey just subscribed to your channel ride a 2021 sport glide and the best mod I’ve made so far and be made lots 😂😂 is a saddle man seat they are a great all round bike
Thanks so much for subscribing! I am interested in a saddleman seat, but not sure how far back and high it will put me since I'm so short. I might try and see if Harley has a demo one I can try!
Good video, I currently own a 2010 Triumph thunderbird 1600 and possibly looking at getting one of these as they stopped making the thunderbird in 2016. We still get the spot glide new in the UK. It will be my first Harley if I get one. :)
Thank you! Triumphs are great bikes and i cant wait to try one out. Yeah US and Canada i think dont sell the sport glides anymore i think which is silly, but they didnt sell as well here for some reason. Youll have to let me know what you think if you get one!
@@buffaloharleychick I will indeed, I've subscribed. 😁 Yes I love triumphs. Had a few. The thunderbird is my first cruiser (I'm from a sports bike background). I'm converted now for sure. I think the sport glide is ideal for our UK roads, maybe that's why they kept it over here. I'd say try a triumph rocket 3, I'd love one of those, just out of my price range. 😂
My two main gripes with the Sport Glide are the kickstand which I think is garbage and, the front fender that is too short. The front tire throws everything off the road directly into the radiator (or oil cooler whatever it is). Otherwise, I love the bike.
I agree about the kickstand! I get so sketched out sometimes when I park the bike.

100% with the kickstand. I dropped mine on its second day because for some reason kickstand decided to pull back itself and the result was a dent on the gas tank. Insurance covers it but they were surely not happy.
Great video I’m a short guy myself as well just under 5 foot six with a 30 inch inseam so the forward controls concern me just a bit. Just curious if you have any feedback on that. Did you immediately have the reach seat installed or did you do that after purchase? I’m interested in buying a used one but maybe going with mid mount controls and highway pegs if that’s an option. I have a Heritage now and the reach seat I bought put too much pressure on my crotch so I took it off and went back to stock. My kickstand sucks as well 😅
Thanks for watching! I did test ride the bike with the regular seat and was able to manage, but it wasn’t perfect. I did buy the reach seat when i was taking the bike home from the dealer. I honestly love forward controls. With the reach seat its extremely comfortable for me. I did also put the mini floor boards which helps. I think next I’m going to do an engine guard with highway pegs.
@@buffaloharleychick ok awesome that makes me feel better, I very much appreciate your feedback and look forward to following your channel and progress!
Hi Alicia, good to see you are enjoying your choice of bike. I was wondering if you have organised a battery tender as yet. The M8 as well as the twin-cams don’t like short trips and because of the fact that they all come with an alarm the battery is constantly discharging and they don’t recharge on a short trip, say to your local shops. Once the bike is constantly on a tender you will hear the motor turning over much easier and you won’t have to concern your self with it sitting for too long and drain the battery. Just a thought you may not be aware of, maybe you already are. Thanks for the videos, looking forward to more. Alex
So, the first winter I had the bike, I didn't put it on a tender and it sat for a couple of months and started right up! This past winter same thing. But then a couple weeks after starting the bike for the first time in the season, it wouldn't turn over. I had it towed to the shop for it's 10k service (which I was over but oh well) and they said the battery probably got drained due to the alarm system. So, I will likely get a tender set up for the upcoming off season. Haven't had any issues with starting it since it got a full charge with the dealer a couple of weeks ago. :-)
@@buffaloharleychick just watched your sissy bar video very informative so thank you. I'm looking to add one myself for a similar reason. Also the blue on my bike is pretty but only in the sunlight, it's so dark you can't tell it's not black. I actually wanted white or that silver color like yours but none were in my area. I'm on the west coast and basically worked with what I had. Either way be safe and keep enjoying life on two wheels.
I bought my SG in 2018 after dropping my CVO and wanting something lighter. At 700 lb with a 5 gal tank and saddlebags, I started riding without the bags and only filing the tank up half to shave off more weight when riding in town. The SG is more of a highway bike and driving through town bike, and not a great around town bike. You need the 107 if you’re touring or commuting on the highway to get outta trouble. I bought a Rebel 500 for around town riding and I am in a rural area that has gravel roads I like having a beater bike that weighs 400lb and dirt cheap insurance because it is only 500cc’s. I love the SG for highways, but it’s not the bike to take to Walmart and worry someone is going to do something to it. With the Rebel I wear a skid helmet to be able to see traffic better while riding in the city.
As far as I am aware the Manufacturing of this Sportglide Model is Now overseas in Thailand and only has the One Fuel Cap on the Right side of the Fuel tank and has been Stuffed Full of EPA controls for the European Market Sadly .
Ah, I didn't know that. I mean, i knew they were still selling overseas. It's a shame they stopped in the US, but people liked the Low Rider more so they pretty much put the SG bags and cruise control and a fairing on the Low Rider and said bye bye to the SG.
