    I have a sport glide and I love it . Changed the air cleaner put a two brothers exhaust changed the cams , put on the Diyno and have double the BHP ! Now that’s real fun 😀😀😀

      The SG typically makes 79 HP on the roller dyno. You’re saying you have 158 WHP!? You either did more more than you say or you don’t make what you suggest or you got something confused or something.

    I'm considering one of these. I currently have a 2011 FXDF (Fatbob) which is the old Dyna frame. Its a joy to ride. If you can control a bike at slow speed (not all can) then they are no more of a hand full than any other bike. You are right on so many points. The gear box is not clunky. Its 'positive' and with a bit of weight on the peg the slightest pull on the clutch and the gear drops as quickly as anything else. They are an experience to ride and if some of the haters tried them out then they may be pleasantly surprised. Thank you for the well balanced and unbiased review.

    I’ve had one for 3 years now and almost 28k on the clock. Stage one with Vance and Hines full twin exhaust Big Radius and it’s plenty quick, sounds brilliant and looks the goods. I ride with a mate and he now has a 2023 Fat Boy 114 and there’s nothing in it between the 107 Stage one and a 114. The Sport Glide never needed a 114 IMHO.

    I love the look of the Sport Glide but would want it with the 114. The Road King Special is similar looking but bigger and much more expensive so I guess my next bike will be a Low Rider S and a big backpack.

    Great vid. I am deciding between this and a Low Rider S. The 117 is AMAZING but the SG feels alot more relaxed and looks great. It's 2 bikes in one and a few thousand away to upgrade the engine. The LRS did put a big grin on my face tho :)

    The usual excellent, understated review, Tony. This is an extremely good-looking Harley, although the weight and feet-forward stance would put me off. I am glad you hope to test the Pan-America. I am hopeful the Revolution Max engine proves to be 100 per cent reliable over the next year as I am extremely attracted to the new Sportster 1250 S. Not that I need one but need and want are two different things.

    I thought this was the one until i bought it!. Six warranty claims in twelve months changed my mind. I sold it, and now I ride a touring bike and I am much happier. Its a great concept, but fatally flawed.

    • @f_r_e_d

      Mind elaborating a bit?

    • @peterconnell3162
      @peterconnell3162 3 роки тому +3

      @@f_r_e_d mine was the first year of production. The large claims were mostly cosmetic damage caused by the vibration of the front fairing and right hand side bag. They resulted in both triple trees being replaced, and the rack and sissy bar being replaced alongside some other parts. I also had water condensation in the speedometer requiring the seals to be replaced, and a bunch of other small problems. There are a number of videos on UA-cam about these issues. The bike itself was fine, I liked it, its nice to ride, but its not ideal for touring. You will find the deficiencies very quickly including wind protection, brakes and comfort. Its also quite expensive and if you wanted a Harley Softail to tour on then the Heritage Classic may be a better option. I traded my Sport Glide for a Street Glide Special.

    • @occyman
      @occyman 2 роки тому +1

      I had zero issues and most people on the SG groups didn’t have issues either so you can’t say the entire model is flawed because you personally had some warranty issues, that’s just you justifying the fact you bought the wrong bike in the first place. And condescension in the speedo is something most Harley owners for decades have experienced (except perhaps some of the big fat overweight touring bikes with the huge fairings). Just buy a car mate….

    • @peterconnell3162
      @peterconnell3162 2 роки тому

      @@occyman the problems with the SG are well documented, and there is a lot of information out there, so it has nothing to do with me making the wrong choice of motorcycle. My comments on the model were based on 16,000 miles of mixed riding in 18 months of ownership, not just the warranty issues, but I accept that I could have explained my comments better as this is social media after all!. It’s all irrelevant now anyway as the SG model is cancelled for 2022, so a more relevant discussion would be why Harley killed it.

It’s wishful hoping but I hope they move their entire lineup up some engine sizes here. Like the 107’s to 114, 114’s to 117 and the CVO’s (117) maybe can get something special such as a 124 or something. I don’t see them putting the 131 in them.

    What i love.
    Big and thick set of rubbers. But not too big. Looks great. Quick detach bags and fairing. Great styling. Forwards and cruise.
    What i'd change. Possibly add mini floorboards. Mini ape hangers like heritage or softail standard. And optional aftermarket batwing fairing. Mustach crashbar. And well ofcourse a set of pipes/slipons.
    I'd ofcourse like the 114. But that whould most likely add about 2500€. And 22.885€ is more than enough cash to put down on the table. Maaaaybe i'd take that option on loan if it comes with it next year.

    These heavy comfortable traditional American Cruisers excell when covering 1000s of mile across open plains on interstate highways. Comfort is necessary to minimize mental & physical fatigue that can get you killed when doing multi week & month long tours. The heavy weight & longer wheelbases of touring bikes help when side wind, including gust that can reach 60 mph, are encountered. HD, Indian, Honda & Yamaha add a lot of weight to their big touring bike for a reason. Don’t think you face similar conditions in the UK.

    • @LukeTPZ
      @LukeTPZ 3 роки тому +1

      It used to confuse me too. There are three platforms/frames: Sportster, Softail & Touring. There used to be the Dyna, but that has now been dropped. Everything is built around those three. Sportsters are new-fangled bikes that are smaller and (broadly) designed for new/small/female riders. Softails are happy-medium of sporty *and* long-distance, Touring models do what they say on the tin. The Heritage Classic (formerly the Heritage Softail) is a brilliant all-rounder, slightly weighted away from, whereas the Road King is at the ‘lightweight’ end of the Touring chassis offerings. There’s a lot of overlap, with the Road King being leaning away from the sporty end of things (mainly due to the weight). If you test rode these two, you’ve pretty much understood the offerings…everything else is ‘window-dressing’. I have the 114cu.in engine, but it’s barely indistinguishable from the smaller 107, nor the even smaller preceding 103cu.in offering. My pick if you’re new to HD…pre-2018 Heritage Softail and maybe, if the leather saddlebags have gone saggy, swap to something rigid.
