If you ever want to make another Aliens Iceberg, I highly recommend the 1970’s Aveley Abduction. It didn’t have any Greys, instead it had these tall, pale, almost translucent Aliens who were wearing Surgery suits and had glowing Pink eyes. They also had these creepy Wookie-looking short aliens acting as their apprentices. The tall aliens were very talkative and gave the kidnapped couple a tour of their ship and explanation for everything onboard. They said strange things that basically implied they were Humanitys Ancestor-Species. The abduction culminated with the couple being shown a hologram of their Homeworld, which they had killed due to pollution, causing them to come to the Solar System and live on Earth underground. They told the Couple they would “meet again”
I've amazed this are the kind of icebergs videos I love. I didn't know a thing, so I watched the video and it yooked me to watch the movies, then saw all the movies and then watch thr iceberg again this time knowing all
I always thought the temple of doom dinner scene was supposed to be a contrast to the villagers from earlier in the movie. The excess of the palace and their hostility contrasts how the villagers are kind and despite having no food choose to feed Indy and Short Round. The palace is evil hand having a curse is why they are eating snakes and insects while the food given by the villagers was vegetables more in line with typical Indian food. There is a deleted scene in the script where Indy is suspicious after dinner scene saying to Short Round something like Hindus consider life sacred and makes you wonder what’s really going on here.
I'm not going to lie. I saw Temple of Doom when I was 10 and thought bugs, snakes, and monkey brains were peak Indian cuisine and was disappointed when I went to my first nice Indian restaurant.
@@forodinssake9570I become more and more confused how deleted scenes become deleted when lots of them just make the movie better or at least make more sense.
I thrive off of these icebergs. I'm like a parasitic infection to them, always sucking nutrients out from these videos and I'm never going to be shaken off of this channel.
@@j3tch1ck3n8 the documentary The Death of Superman lives goes into it and I highly recommend it but after the Reeves movies they wanted a Superman for the 90s (Nicholas cage in screen tests to play him) and many of the scripts for the movie eventually titled Superman lives involved him fighting a thanagarian snare best aka a giant spider. If I recall the script writer or director also would later go into wild Wild West where the climax also involves a giant spider for no reason at all
FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME ABOUT THE NUKE FRIDGE! Yes it's stupid and yes you can make fun of it, but don't tell me that it's the "jumping the shark moment". The shark was jumped the moment he ran away from a massive bolder in the first film!
I don't know why everyone hates that movie.I love it for the longest time.I thought the temple of doom sucked but I just hated Willie. Well, I guess to the toxic fan boys and the general public. It's no longer the "worst" thanks Mangold!
@@nicwinsteadart5330 watch the Mr.Plinkett review on it. Explains perfectly whats wrong with the movie. basically the first half is real good with some minor flaws. Then there's a tipping point, about when they get to the jungle, it compounds into a cgi nightmare with no stakes.
Out of everyone they ever introduced to try and succeed indiana jones, I agree short round would have been the best if they ever brought him back at some point
I pray to Shiva that the game is really good and gets people talking about Indy again. Even though I liked Indy 5, there wasn't anyone in the theater under the age of 40 apart from myself so it'd be great if it had a big resurgence with Gen Z
Yeah that’s one of the reasons why it bombed imo. Disney hasn’t done anything with Indy besides let Fortnite use him in the 12 years they’ve owned the IP. Gen Z barely know Indy exists. They probably know him more from parodies and references then the actual films. A shame because an animated Indiana Jones series would go so hard
@Pigpen_YT I fully agree, if a piece of media is good enough, word of mouth will prevail. Unrelated but have you seen the animated short by Patrick Schoenmaker? Legit one of the coolest fanimations I've seen
I had the same feeling. I'm a early gen z, and I know lots of people who played the Lego game and it has a nostalgic feeling to them as adults now. But none of them barely watched the movies, to say the least. I've been a huge Indy fan ever since I was a toddler, my first Lego set was Indy themed. Big obsession, knowing the soundtrack, knowing the characters, the actors, and basically being the only friend with this love for the franchise. Lol.
I consider myself pretty well-versed in Indiana Jones lore, but I still learned quite a few things from this iceberg video. I am also currently playing the Great Circle and it's a whole lot of fun.
I´m glad you keep posting icebergs, i love yours because you put so much effort in researching all these obscure subjects. You deserve all the break you need, burning out is awful.
A quick edit for ya: Indy doesn’t really get absorbed by the French military, but instead forges forms from both Belgian and French officials to get himself and his friends Remy transferred to the French army. The young Indy series is definitely worth a watch for anyone interested! Great video btw
I remember playing the Lego Indiana Jones games. An interesting change is like that every villian sorta get what they want? They get supernatural powers from the artifact of their movie and are fought as a boss fight. The British guy from The Ark of the Covenant gets transformed into a strange Angel thing The Cult Leader in Temple of Doom animates his Idol into a moving lava-golem shown in the movie. The other evil British guy who drinks from the wrong Cup in Last Crusade gets Whirlwind powers? Might be related to time or something. In Crystal Skull, the Crystal Skeleton that the scary Russian Lady who puts its skull back gets her Psychic powers strengthened from it.
Irina is Eastern Ukrainian, not Russian. It's in the first scene you meet her in during the movie, yall NEED to either watch the movie and actually pay attention or read the book 😭🙏
First video of yours, You’ve just become my favorite iceberg diver, I can feel a manic binge coming lol … as for the end bit my friend, writer to writer, please never feel shame in protecting yourself from burnout; art will always have patience 🖤
Started watching this video and realized I didn't get half of the stuff you were saying (never watched Indiana Jones), so I watched all of the movies just for the occasion. Thank you for your hard work!!
@@Yickerd I really like Raiders, the themes and the overall feeling of the movie felt really intriguing. Also liked the Last Crusade because of the theme of "letting go" at the end
I feel like the fridge scene fits perfectly within the series. Literally there is so many moments Indy survives stuff because of pure dumb luck. The absurdity of the fridge scene fits perfectly IMO
The knight in last crusade literally says "the grail cannot pass beyond the great seal, that is the boundary and the price of immortality" Considering Elsa crossed the seal and then everyone else escaped...there's no more grail immortality
Hopefully iceberg videos will never die. I know the trend is over four years old, but a good iceberg chart video is really enjoyable, as well as informative and often quite eerie.
I just want to say your videos are a godsend to me since I often have them I nthe background at work while I'm busy and they are very well done and well informed
13:00 FUCKING THANK YOU. I’ve been defending the nuke the fridge scene since opening day. I just don’t understand what the fans think they’re watching anymore. None of these movies have been grounded in reality and maybe it’s the big time jump between TLC and KotCS that May everyone suddenly forget that these movies have been laced with outlandish fantasy from the beginning.
Racist? No, because I don't think either Spielberg or Lucas is "racist", but Temple of Doom is definitely very 80's Hollywood...and not the most "culturally sensitive. As someone who was in elementary school at the time...Temple of Doom was pretty much my introduction Hong Kong and India.
@@ryanharris2113If it wasn’t an issue in his generation it doesn’t matter. So tired of you soyboys who need to judge everything based on your modern day flimsy morality you pretend to have. Go talk to a girl you fruit.
Just want to let you know that these icebergs make my day. I sometimes have trouble sleeping and listening to iceberg videos, including yours, helps me to get to sleep. Will definitely be returning to this one several times over so I can absorb all of it, as I do with all your videos, haha. Keep up the great work man, love what you do.
I just look past the questionable makeup just so we can have Indy have another awesome fight with Pat Roach. The idea of him being a brainwashed British soldier does sound like a decent theory.
@@chase3548 I literally thought my entire life that it was an Indian man just covered in dirt and soot and debris from being in a mine. I didn’t even know it was a white man until I watched this iceberg video LMAO.
Fun facts UA-cam won't let me time stamp this video for some reason in My Little Pony there's actually a character called daring do who's a protagonist of the book series that's actually based on her real life in Friendship Is Magic
Idk if it's enough content for it but u should do a Blade runner 1 and 2044 iceberg 👌🏾. And love the content btw ur videos aren't boring or corny keep going 💯
Also if they really want to make Indy somewhat of a bad dude, they could’ve just had him selling valuable artifacts to shady individuals in his younger years then making him do a EDP.🐱
honestly this got to be one of your absolute best iceberg. as someone who grew up with theses films but also hasn't watch them in a long time so i'm a bit of out of it with the series, it was really interesting to learn so much goddamn weird stuff there is with this series,. seriously this video made me realize how wack this series actually is. also surprise in the fortnite section i'm a little surprised how you didn't mention that in one POI on the map ( forgot witch one ) there was puzzle in the area where you had to find some symbols in the area to make a pattern to upen a secret area with loot, and hen you go in a boulder falls ( JUST LIKE THE MOVIE ) and you got to outrun it, i actually remember getting killed by the boulder a couple times and getting really annoyed cause solving the puzzle can be real annoying since unless you done it a million times you'll have no clue what order the symbols go in even if you find them all since it changes every game so i had to had to keep troubleshooting it tell i get it right.
I find it funny that you talk about how people say how it's bad that they got saved by the British colonizers. Then shortly after you mention Joseph Joestar. Who got saved by world War 2 Germans.
@@Pigpen_YT I was just making an observation. I wasn't saying anything about you. I just thought "funny how he brought being saved bad group of people. And then brought something a character that had the thing happen." When I first heard the point about the colonizers immediately made me think of the thing with the classic German soldiers. Sorry if I came off bad. I might just delete the comment.
And the people saving them aren't anything like white British people.. not are the makers of the movie 😂😂 . Racism is bad but wokeness is MUCH WORSE...
Hey the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Movie wasn’t that bad. It was ridiculous but I’d rather see that revived as an MCU attempt than the Dark Universe.
@@GoldSayaProductions are the Extraordinary Gentleman characters public domain too? I know the “League of Extraordinary Gentleman” is Trademarked, but are the individual characters?
@@jakespacepiratee3740 Quartemain, Dorian, Nemo, Mina, Sawyer, Moriarty, Jekyll/Hyde. All public domain. The invisible man is tricky. The novel version is PD. The film version is copyright. BUT, you cannot use the novel version in a film because film rights and novel rights are different. That's why they invented Skinner for the film. Anyone can make a movie about an invisible man, it just cannot have the character name from the novel. Anyone can also use the novel character, name and all, in a writing project. I hope that was not confusing, but feel free to ask for any clarification.
@@GoldSayaProductions yes! Thank you for your info. I’m actually really interested in this. I hope to make an animated short, and later a tv show using the bones of these attempts at cinematic universes, with my own style of course. The only problem is that im trying to reconcile the two different settings into one. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which is not what im calling my team) takes place before WW1, and fits there best, while the Dark Universe was supposed to take place in the Modern World and I think it fits there best as well, as the idea of ancient monsters slowing emerging into our world feels intriguing. I’m currently considering either time travel, and the (different name for league) travels forward and back in time to help their time period and our own, as they can’t beat the monsters, only slow them, and the modern world is their resurfacing.
Me: I've only seen 2 of these movies and have consumed no other media related to this franchise. Also me: Yay! A two hour long iceberg video about it! :D
Really well done dude actually damn. I like listening to these at work. Weirdly you're most educational one imo. I now can give some credit to Dial of Destiny, it didn't have the stupidest story of Indy, and things could've been a lot worse lol. Can't believe how many I sane ideas Speilberg and Lucas were coming up with and almost did. I'm not the biggest Indy fan but hearing a lot of these were interesting. Thanks
I heard online that the fridge scene was actually taken from early drafts of back to the future, and Steven Spielberg just had it in the back of his mind without anything to use it on for so long so he decided to throw it into Indiana Jones when the opportunity presented itself.
1:07:17 - I'm pretty sure the Grail Knight says he's the last of the three brothers whose history Henry Jone Sr. had been leading Indy through throughout the movie. Like, he's related to the guy whose grave Indy got the rubbing from, et c.
A fun little iceberg entry regarding the music: there’s evidence that John Williams wrote a concert version of the new Naz- err, Axis Powers themes in Dial of Destiny and then largely scrapped it. The only evidence is that there are two spots of the soundtrack where pieces of it were edited in. The brass fanfare at the start of the Axis Power themes in the end credits (Prologue on the OST) appears to be the opening, while the final 30 seconds or so of “Voller’s Return” is the closing. The rest of the piece is unheard. We know this because of the public cue sheet database for the movie listing a unique cue titled “N*zis” in those spots and only those spots. There’s a forum post that goes into more detail about it, but that’s the gist of it.
And at the time of the first battle of the Somme, Belgian forces were trapped behind the Yser. Yes, to an extent military can absorb other forces, but that was really only done between the British French and Americans because they had one general Commander as the Western front general Ferdinand Foch. Some forces from Italy did aid on the western front though.
For the WWI thing, it would’ve made more sense for Indiana to join the French or British military as they made up the Somme. It’s cool that he fought in WWI, I never knew that, although it is historically inaccurate. And most of the temple of doom “racist” scenes don’t seem racist to me (except for of course the black face).
The possibility of Roman Polanski being Toat (Tote? Idk) killed me and then so "let's have 20 something Indy date teen Marion, nah tween Marion" 😂 I genuinely wonder what the intention was lol
This was a very interesting video! And not to be that person but according to Hitchcock, the MacGuffin can change but the story wouldn't. That's like saying the Grail could be in Temple of Doom and it wouldn't change the story at all. But this was very fascinating to watch. Great job!

@@NdieCitywe’ve never had a character as funny as the fridge
I always thought the temple of doom dinner scene was supposed to be a contrast to the villagers from earlier in the movie. The excess of the palace and their hostility contrasts how the villagers are kind and despite having no food choose to feed Indy and Short Round. The palace is evil hand having a curse is why they are eating snakes and insects while the food given by the villagers was vegetables more in line with typical Indian food.
There is a deleted scene in the script where Indy is suspicious after dinner scene saying to Short Round something like Hindus consider life sacred and makes you wonder what’s really going on here.
I think the scene itself isn't the issue, it's how it fits into the wider picture, just keeping the deleted scene would help a LOT

The franchise has reached the point where life stops giving it things, and instead starts taking them away.
Lol.
The game is great. And im a cynical guy. Feels like a great movie as well as being a good game.
I consider myself pretty well-versed in Indiana Jones lore, but I still learned quite a few things from this iceberg video. I am also currently playing the Great Circle and it's a whole lot of fun.
Those two other guys at the nuking site could have survived if they let Indy in the car with him, because his plot armor would have saved them
I´m glad you keep posting icebergs, i love yours because you put so much effort in researching all these obscure subjects. You deserve all the break you need, burning out is awful.
A pirates of the Caribbean iceberg would be fun
A quick edit for ya: Indy doesn’t really get absorbed by the French military, but instead forges forms from both Belgian and French officials to get himself and his friends Remy transferred to the French army. The young Indy series is definitely worth a watch for anyone interested! Great video btw
I remember playing the Lego Indiana Jones games. An interesting change is like that every villian sorta get what they want? They get supernatural powers from the artifact of their movie and are fought as a boss fight.
The British guy from The Ark of the Covenant gets transformed into a strange Angel thing
The Cult Leader in Temple of Doom animates his Idol into a moving lava-golem shown in the movie.
The other evil British guy who drinks from the wrong Cup in Last Crusade gets Whirlwind powers? Might be related to time or something.
In Crystal Skull, the Crystal Skeleton that the scary Russian Lady who puts its skull back gets her Psychic powers strengthened from it.
In fairness, that's all only in LEGO Indy 2. The first game gives every villain their accurate karmic deaths.
Belloq is French and Donovan is American, none of them are British lmao
That's on Indy 2, the less good lego Indy game
To be fair, the actor for Belloq is actually British.

The great circle will be a good addition
Huh
And at the time of the first battle of the Somme, Belgian forces were trapped behind the Yser.
Yes, to an extent military can absorb other forces, but that was really only done between the British French and Americans because they had one general Commander as the Western front general Ferdinand Foch. Some forces from Italy did aid on the western front though.
