One funny factoid I know about Far Cry 5 is Joseph Seed's infamous strings of snot that developed during his "Snake in the Garden" eulogy. The graphical detail actually has a dedicated Reddit post addressing how people felt about them, with some commenters saying it felt like Ubisoft undercut what was a genuinely good performance for the sake of gross humor. Some PC players have even reported that the snot strings caused their game to lag due to their physics. It's a really weird fixation that's pretty funny, if I'm honest. Good iceberg, as always!
I never understood why people disliked that, or how one could think it was supposed to be "humorous". This is a man who just lost his family, and it hurts. It's an ugly thing. Crying isn't supposed to be aesthetically pleasing. Even if justified the player is ruining this man's life and it shows. To me, it was an incredibly intense scene that had me on the edge of my seat.
I’ve always thought that a western set Far Cry game would be amazing and seeing that it might come true makes me so happy. I also agree that a Far Cry like game set in Jurassic Park would rock
i like to think that vaas actually didnt wanna live the pirate life no more because he realized how destructive he is like jason, thus he fakes his death by drugging jason to make him believe he killed vaas
@@Kaminkaesevaas looks older here tho, so I think far cry 6 is after 5’s secret ending, and new dawn is after 5’s true ending. You can also find a note/receipt from the seed family in 6
Don’t know if anyone has said this yet but the cut Rip and Grinder characters from Blood Dragon are a direct reference to the 2011 film “Hobo With a Shotgun”. In the movie, the main villain hires 2 demon bounty hunters of the same name and they’re known as “The Plague”, hence the cut mission’s title. They were probably going to be added since their theme song is made by the same artist who did the music for the Blood Dragon soundtrack, Power Glove.
Really wish that they would just let Vaas be dead. Hell, let Jason be the villain of the next game, but Vaas being alive kinda invalidates the premise of Far Cry 3 imo.

Same after hours I uninstalled too bc they are too lazy to make good graphism and animations like when you press r3 there isn't enough animation and it bugs ,he worst is the 3person cutscene I think they tried to do like rdr2 but the graphismes are ass so it doesn't work and what makes far cry charm is that everything I'd supposed to be first person or it's not far cry it makes it a 1 man studio game like when you enter you base and youre 3rd person view with the crew 2 walking animation🤣🤦 and the backpack omg its ugly and not even fun
I got curious and I've read the comics about the Far Cey villains, with Anton explaining them to his son. It sucked, it sucked pretty bad, didn't even gave a good background to them, just the basic stuffs you learn from the game. However, I also read the manga about Vaas youth, and it was so good. Giving a background to his love/hate relationship with Citra, Hoyt, and his mother, who was fucking scary in it. Really good surprise.
I look forward to watching this tonight before bed. These are great!!!!! I always look forward to every one, even the ones I have zero knowledge on, or whatever topic I may or may not enjoy I watch them anyways. Because they're that interesting. It's sorta like a documentary and I am all here for it. Good Job. (Thumbs Up)
Almost every entry in this iceberg is something on the lines of "This factoid could have been a cool writing/game design quirk, but instead we know it is just Ubisoft having no restraint while incontinently shitting content for its casual audience"
In Far Cry 3 the survival guide is written by Huntley. He was a Vietnam veteran hence the profound reflective writing style in some of the entries (see the one for the Patrol Boat).
37:42 still waiting for my Far Cry Game set on the Jurassic Park style island of Dinosaurs....and with Jack Carver and Vaas both returning as Duel protagonist somehow. Even though I know none of that will ever happen. Even though I really, REALLY wish it would. Or maybe it will, idk anymore. If it does happen though, it needs to be a main game, not a spin-off game, or a side game, or DLC, or anything like that. EDIT: Nvm about Jack Carver coming back. I forgot about that stupid Jackal theory.
01:40:00 Vaas himself says, that the preacher in the TV is a "copycat". But the scene is really similar to how Vaas described how he learned the term from some guy. TL;DR Ubisoft fucked up the canon to make a funny scene.
Oh I have a cool theory about the RPG in far cry 5. I don’t think that’s a place holder. In real life the RPG in fc5 ( with the rails and stuff) was an American made RPG that is interchangeable with the old RPG rockets. This was made to give to newer nato countries like Ukraine for example (they actually are using these us made RPG’s in ukraine). The “old model” RPG as I’m gonna call it, is a traditionally Russian made RPG which is VERY VERY hard to get your hands on a non demilled one. I think the “old model” RPG isn’t a reused asset model, but an older more rare model for the US. Maybe even a callback to far cry 3 as we see them using old Soviet gear like the RPG’s aswell. Ngl it’s probably just a place holder that got left in but I like to think that the RPG with the far cry 4/3 model is just an old Russian RPG while the RPG’s in far cry 5 /43 the new American made alternatives that we give to former Soviet Union countries.
just to add onto the whole vaas loving citra thing, im pretty sure it’s hinted that she r-worded him, especially when you look at citra’s villain wiki. the r-wording is what really messed vaas up and he turned to drugs to forget, hence why he became close to Hoyt. Hoyt provided him with drugs for each kill or capture he made. only then causing him to spiral out of control and into a pit of addiction and insanity
I always thought that because of the Arcade cabinets in 5 as well as the aesthetic of Blood Dragon that Blood Dragon was a video game in-universe, BD2 is a comic that you can find the texture for in game as well, and then of course BD3 is a movie being filmed in Hope County Also favorite villain has to be Pagan Min
I dont like the idea of rhe walk away ending being canon, it makes rhe deputy just seem so selfish considering we just spent the ENTIRE game freeing hope county
Far Cry 1 definitely isn't set in the 2020s. The only mentions to it come from a throwaway line in the FC1 manual that isn't acknowledged anywhere else and the poorly written Far Cry Wiki that anyone can edit (which has no source other than said throwaway line, by the way). People are just pulling stuff out of their asses as usual lol
@@Pigpen_YT Yeah, I was surprised a few years back when someone mentioned it to me during a discussion. It's funny to see such a small line have so much impact when usually people completely dismiss manuals! Thank you for the iceberg, by the way. Yours are always entertaining and I had been looking for a FC iceberg for a while now. Great video!
8:36 . .FarCry 6 had more "Vaas Campaign" about Vaas & his Sister's Youth (When they were kids) , but that one time they got engaged inside a cave while killing a "Guy who liked his Sister" In FarCry 3 they don't rlly get close to one another because Citra was depressed about her relationships with Vaas (That's why she chosed "Jason" for a Warrior-Conspiracy) "Citra later died/lived having Jason Escape/Give-Birth to Citra"
Another great video as always! Far Cry is one of my favorite game series! Though I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Far Cry 4 poker app! Keep up the great work!
I still want a full far cry Vietnam (could be called something like Far Cry Nam so it’s not actually a mainline game but a spinoff like primal) I think it would work good and they could actually switch it up where you have a squad of other guys you go into battle with
Pretty good video! Was a nice mix of things I knew and things I didn't know. Though I personally would have mentioned that in the Survival Guide entry for the .44 Magnum in 3, Vaas is implied to have killed Kim Jong-il, how the Jellyfish and Seagull entries in the same game are also similar to Sam Becker and the Patrol Boat's entries, and the storied Drubman lineage from Urki onwards, though I think that last one would've been too obvious. Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot about the theory that Longinus from FC4 is an older Prosper Kouassi from 2, and how another explanation for why the federal government doesn't intervene in 5 could be that the Seeds are implied in the Patriot Acts side mission to have dirt on some high-ranking politicians, possibly even the President himself.
The far cry 5 air freshner is not a German exclusive item. I live in the netherlands and it was included in the Montana edition ive bought. Maybe its a Europeanen exclusive? There was another exclusive item which only north america got I think: the word of joseph. Its his bible you actually burn when you destroy his statue in the game. Hope I can get that book one day.
A bit of a correction about the US government not knowing/caring about edans gate. in new dawn there is an expedition you can go on to a crashed US government plane and in a note you can find it says the government knew about project edens gate and were flying there to solve it and if i remember correctly in that same wreckage you could find sam fishers stealth suit, so they knew and were going to put an end to it, but they decieded to begin doing so the day the nukes droped
I've only finished Far Cry New Dawn, ngl it was actually really fun to play from start to finish but regardless I dedicated the time to watch this... Was not expecting Chris Chan in the slightest but I should expect the unexpected with your videos lol. Also that Grindor/Grinder bit, I can't even blame you man.
a true Rambo fan would probably find a way around that. Embargoes do a lot of harm, and irl Cuba is actually the record holder of surviving the longest ongoing blockade in modern human history, but for all it is once we talk about immaterial things like digital media it's remarkable how absolutely porous & hard to enforce either outside embargoes or internal bans are from Sa'ud Arabia, Germany, Russia, India to Korea to - yes - banned media even in the US. People find access to it if they really want to get Rambo content from the internet.
Definitely agree with you on FC as an underrated series. I'm a relatively casual gamer, and like games with a lot to explore in them and which you can pick up for a bit, shoot some bad guys, launch a rocket at a helicopter, sic your crocodile on soldiers and chill for a bit. The consistency and size of the games are elements in ita favour. Favourite villain has to be Faith, though. She's that temptress trying to lure you over to the dark side and every time I see the air shimmer in FC5 I shudder. Creepy and elusive and can kill you with a glance :). Favourite companion has to be Guapo, but then I'm a Fallout 4 player who has Dogmeat tag along behind her all the time, so I'm a sucker for animal companions. I haven't actually obtained Cheeseburger yet, so I'm interested to see how a bear measures up to a crocodile :).
there is a side quest in Far Cry 6 which connects 5 and 6, there is a woman in yara which has a bliss plant at her botany, she is one of alonsos kid iirc but i could be wrong on that. she got that plant send to her by someone in hope country
Rip & Grinder (The Plague) is, iirc, a reference to the underrated schlocky grindhouse movie from around the time the DLC released “Hobo with A Shotgun” starring Rutger Hauer The dude who directed it, Jason Eisener, currently directs (and co-created) the Vice tv series “Dark Side of the Ring” and “Tales from the Territories” which are pretty good. I wish he got more love from Hollywood since Hobo with a Shotgun was made after they submitted a “fake” trailer of it for the Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez double feature “Grindhouse”
Favorite villain in the series is a toss between Min or Vaas. But I'd have to go with Min, because I'm both a hipster contrarian and like the interactions with him through out the whole game.
I was hoping you would talk more about the multiplayer in the far cry instincts game. There was a few community game modes through the predator game such as prison games, jaws games, and panic room games made possible with the map editor and custom game browser.
You can farm Pagan Min's body by fast traveling away and then returning to the crashed helicopter. Not super useful considering the games finished, but you can have a full wallet in a few trips.
I actually had an idea for a “Far Cry New Dawn 2” which acts like a dark sequel to Far Cry 3 more so than Far Cry New Dawn specifically. It would reveal that Jason Brody survived WW3 and founded the Highwayman Raiders and leads their New York Chapter. The Death of his Gf upon the start of WW3 made him go off the deep end, and the game would start with your character being given the “Insanity” Speech by an elderly Jason Brody before a cinder Rick your chair is tied to gets pushed off a Skyscraper into a Ocean. The player escapes and it’s off to the races… I’d also want to incorporate more elements of the “Ubisoft Videogame Universe” with plot points related to Watchdog Descendants trying to repair technology and a Modern Assassins Order trying to find Issu technology to save Humanity.
I have such a love/ hate relationship with Ubisoft, on one hand they have Rayman and Watchdogs which both have some of my favorite games, on the other hand they're probably the biggest trend chasers in the industry
Far Cry games has got alot of hate but it will always has a special place in my heart since it has made me good memories of goofing around with my friends on Far cry 5
far cry 5s arcade multiplayer was criminally underrated all the fun of far crys gameplay in a multiplayer setting including takedowns and wingsuits combined with entirely custom made maps by the community was insanely fun and im sad it didnt return in new dawn or far cry 6

Words cannot express how happy I am to know that you keep making iceberg vids. They're like cocaine to me
Man, about time, someone's made an iceberg about this series.
I was surprised that you didn’t mention the theory that Longinus is Prosper Kouassi from Far Cry 2
Really good surprise.
would love a bioshock iceberg honestly that would be a banger
I agree
Man I get so hyped when pigpen drops an iceberg. Best one doing it rn
I forgot about that stupid Jackal theory.
kinda funny how we got a lot of ubisoft news today, but nothing far cry
7:34 😂 pigpen never disappoints with the little random add ons. They always have me laughing and rewinding to watch them again 😂
i can’t wait for this, watching my dad play far cry 1 is what created my love of video games
01:40:00
Vaas himself says, that the preacher in the TV is a "copycat". But the scene is really similar to how Vaas described how he learned the term from some guy.
TL;DR Ubisoft fucked up the canon to make a funny scene.
Not a far cry fan but i will watch anyway.
Ps: waiting for a megaten/persona iceberg someday.
Damm the mcu STILL not using vaas is kinda wild 😂
Okay back again with another great video. I haven’t played far cry since 3 so this was a treat.
Great vid as all ways. If you do another iceberg I recommend a sonic iceberg a god of war iceberg a overwatch iceberg and a rdr iceberg.
Great pics
I think sonic is the least likely from the rest. I see Pigpen doing a God of war iceberg eventually, but who knows.
@@veggsbacon1891 yeah i agree
You are NOT allowed to Katawa Shoujo jumpscare me like that 😔
I'm allowed to post peak whenever I want smh
@@Pigpen_YT 😔✊️
Thr hell did I just read?
just to add onto the whole vaas loving citra thing, im pretty sure it’s hinted that she r-worded him, especially when you look at citra’s villain wiki.
the r-wording is what really messed vaas up and he turned to drugs to forget, hence why he became close to Hoyt. Hoyt provided him with drugs for each kill or capture he made. only then causing him to spiral out of control and into a pit of addiction and insanity
all the villains backstories make me cry honestly. ESPECIALLY PAGAN’S. his background has been blubbering like a little baby.
I always thought that because of the Arcade cabinets in 5 as well as the aesthetic of Blood Dragon that Blood Dragon was a video game in-universe, BD2 is a comic that you can find the texture for in game as well, and then of course BD3 is a movie being filmed in Hope County
Also favorite villain has to be Pagan Min
I dont like the idea of rhe walk away ending being canon, it makes rhe deputy just seem so selfish considering we just spent the ENTIRE game freeing hope county
@@cringelord2875 well the idea is that they’re leaving to go get reinforcements
@@Pigpen_YT I hope so, otherwise it feels like copout
A reason for the last two Rambo movies not appearing could be the embargo against Yara.
That’s a very good point
Ahh, nothing like some obscure knowledge to relax to.
Thank you, I knew it being in the 2020s was wrong. Couldn’t figure out where 2025 even came from
@@Pigpen_YT Yeah, I was surprised a few years back when someone mentioned it to me during a discussion. It's funny to see such a small line have so much impact when usually people completely dismiss manuals!
Thank you for the iceberg, by the way. Yours are always entertaining and I had been looking for a FC iceberg for a while now. Great video!
I've always thought Far Cry 1 just does it's own thing instead of actually being non-canon.
Mug? That's a beer cozy isn't it?
idk I don't drink
8:36 . .FarCry 6 had more "Vaas Campaign" about Vaas & his Sister's Youth (When they were kids) , but that one time they got engaged inside a cave while killing a "Guy who liked his Sister"
In FarCry 3 they don't rlly get close to one another because Citra was depressed about her relationships with Vaas (That's why she chosed "Jason" for a Warrior-Conspiracy)
"Citra later died/lived having Jason Escape/Give-Birth to Citra"
45:25 BRO IS BASED. Love Katawa Shoujo to death
Very happy to see the Katawa Shoujo fanbase is still alive
@@Pigpen_YT TBH it was pretty dormant for a couple years but a couple popular content creators revitalized the fan base with new fans, me included
I’ve been watching your videos for almost 4 years
same, ive been here since his first call of duty iceberg
@@parmesancheez6087 saaame
Another great video as always! Far Cry is one of my favorite game series! Though I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Far Cry 4 poker app! Keep up the great work!
I still want a full far cry Vietnam (could be called something like Far Cry Nam so it’s not actually a mainline game but a spinoff like primal) I think it would work good and they could actually switch it up where you have a squad of other guys you go into battle with
I was literally looking this up for the past 2 days thank you
And the moral is Ubisoft is a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a harassment lawsuit.
Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot about the theory that Longinus from FC4 is an older Prosper Kouassi from 2, and how another explanation for why the federal government doesn't intervene in 5 could be that the Seeds are implied in the Patriot Acts side mission to have dirt on some high-ranking politicians, possibly even the President himself.
i really loved Captain Laserhawk cant wait for another season
Also that Grindor/Grinder bit, I can't even blame you man.
great video- stilll waiting for Yakuza Iceberg!!!
Hell yeah new ice berg, my Internet has been out at my home so I've downloaded your Godzilla and cyberpunk videos to help fill the silence
56:50 Rambo 4 and 5 probably exist, Yara is in an emabargo so, probably the films never made in to Yaran soil
a true Rambo fan would probably find a way around that.
Yo, great vid. Please do a scooby doo, god of war, or an Indiana jones one next
Stay tuned
I got the secret ending in far cry 4 because I didn’t know what to do and I thought I was supposed to wait
there is a side quest in Far Cry 6 which connects 5 and 6, there is a woman in yara which has a bliss plant at her botany, she is one of alonsos kid iirc but i could be wrong on that. she got that plant send to her by someone in hope country
Rip & Grinder (The Plague) is, iirc, a reference to the underrated schlocky grindhouse movie from around the time the DLC released “Hobo with A Shotgun” starring Rutger Hauer
The dude who directed it, Jason Eisener, currently directs (and co-created) the Vice tv series “Dark Side of the Ring” and “Tales from the Territories” which are pretty good.
Likewise
11:14 “What they carried” seems like a reference to a book called “The Things They Carried” about soldiers in the Vietnam War
while i can agree the 4,5 and 6 are technically better games, but blood dragon just fucks so hard
I would usually listen to these at work but I got fired so I’ll just watch them normally
Killing Vaas never sat right with me because you never “officially” see him dead you just see him in that dream/hallucination world
What’s your favorite Far Cry entry, Pigpen?
Mine’s Far Cry 4.
Either 4 or 5
@@Pigpen_YT 3 and 4
The Chris Chan audio 💀
Easily the dumbest joke I’ve made
@@Pigpen_YT But a good, dumb joke
1:07:32 I think this was probably more of a reference to nuketown in cod because nuketown also has mannequins set up in it and is pretty well known
The player escapes and it’s off to the races…
I’d also want to incorporate more elements of the “Ubisoft Videogame Universe” with plot points related to Watchdog Descendants trying to repair technology and a Modern Assassins Order trying to find Issu technology to save Humanity.
I have such a love/ hate relationship with Ubisoft, on one hand they have Rayman and Watchdogs which both have some of my favorite games, on the other hand they're probably the biggest trend chasers in the industry
Do a Sonic iceberg.
(P.S if you want help with entries I know way too much about Sonic.)
Far Cry games has got alot of hate but it will always has a special place in my heart since it has made me good memories of goofing around with my friends on Far cry 5
far cry 5s arcade multiplayer was criminally underrated
all the fun of far crys gameplay in a multiplayer setting including takedowns and wingsuits combined with entirely custom made maps by the community was insanely fun and im sad it didnt return in new dawn or far cry 6
Literally squawked like a parrot when i saw this i was so excited
Awesome video! Love Farcry
