This is the ONLY video I watched that worked. I really appreciate how you put them together and manually did it instead of just talking about it. This really helped with my ADHD. Thank you 😊
Thank you sooo much I was going crazy trying to figure this out for myself and 2 kids I did not want to have to buy three different digital games for all of our switches
I know right my best friend could probably easily get whatever i had but i mean why do that when your mans here got this legit method it's pretty tight thanks KlutchxGaming
THANK YOU SO MUCH! although it was easy in video, it was a lot harder for me since i was a rookie, but you made it a lot more easier for me to play it, thank you!!!
Biggest drawback with this is if you have other save files of the same game with different profiles made on switch number one. You won't have access to play it with those profiles. For someone like me who plays pokemon and is a common thing to have other save files. This doesn't work well for me. It's really good though, but the solution for my situation is just to buy the physical games since I share with my sister.
@DoubleShock Infinite I have my own switch, my sister has hers. I have my main file and extra files on my switch. My sister has everything on hers. But since I game share her "my" games. I can't play my extra game files on my switch. Because the primary switch for my account is her switch.
@Its bryan so my sister's switch is my account's primary switch. I can play on my switch any game I want as long as I am using my main profile. If wanted to create a new profile on my switch(my switch not being the primary one), I wouldn't be able to. Only my sister has that kind of access and she doesn't have to play on my profile on her switch. Since it's the primary console she can just use her account.
@Its bryan So if you have an extra switch other than your own. You can game share to that other console by making it the primary one. The primary console will be able to play any games and any save files. While the non-primary has to be connected to the internet to play the game you want and can't play on any save file. It has to be the same account the primary console is under. I hope that explains it😁😁 sorry it's a lot.
The video is really well explained but I have a question... Does somebody know how to share games on your secondary switch while keeping the first switch as the primary console? Is that possible? thanks in advance :)
I've read somewhere that you can only play offline for 3 hours on the secondary account. If I reconnect to the wi-fi, let it review my license again, and turn wi-fi off, will I get another offline gameplay for 3 hours?
Do I ever de-register my account from my family member's console (so my console becomes the primary console of my account again)? Fantastic video, btw. Super helpful and thank you for teaching us!
Completed this process with my switch (switch 1) and my siblings (switch 2) is there any point in switching the primary registered device back to switch 1? What are the pros and cons of doing so just curious
This really helped only thing I gotta worry about is wifi but I mean hey I get to play splatoon with my sis and we technically only spent 60 bucks not 120
Ok first off I wanna say thank you for making this video! Second I wanna ask some questions, and I'm sorry I did watch the whole thing, but I might've missed some things. Ok first question would you say it's difficult to switch accounts back, and forth between 2 consoles? Second question let's say 2 people wanted to share their games with each other on their switches so they would both have to have their own account on their own switch, and the other person's account on theirs plus deregister their own account, and register the other person's on their own switch to play the other person's games on their switch? Third question if one person was playing the others games would the other person be able to play their own games at the same time?
Thank you for the video! Just two questions: 1. Can I still share games if the second switch does not have Nintendo switch online? 2. What happens if the second switch did not deregister and continues to link the primary switch (I'm assuming deregister only if second switch has NSO)?
@@KlutchxGaming appreciate the reply! As for the second question, what happens if the second switch did not deregister? Is it necessary? I'm sorry I actually don't have a switch right now as mine is shipping soon, so I'm not very familiar.
Thanks for the awesome video. Just to clarify, if I follow these instructions the two switches can play the same game online together, like minecraft? I saw another video where it says it will kick one of you out if you both try to play at the same time.
You can't play the same game with each other un fortunately but you can play with others at the same time. It's because of the unique identifier of the game
I have 2 questions. Let’s say I take back control on my switch and my friend is no longer primary, can they still play the games? 2nd question: I saw a video before this one that game share can not be multiplayer. But when you showed it. It’s supposed to be an error but you’re playing animal crossing! Even when you’re game sharing So how does that work?
I have a couple questions first is this reverse able and would this cause any issues in purchasing new games would both people get the game or would there be a process every time for each person to have the purchased game Also do this effect online play with both users ? Would I be able to play online without the person I’m game sharing with if they are also playing the same game. Lastly would the person I’m game sharing with have any issues if we both played the same game together?
Can this work with paid DLC? To give a little background, my friend has her own Switch with her own account and we each have our own physical copy of Fire Emblem Three Houses. I bought the DLC under my account on my Switch. Using this method, could she download the DLC so she can use it too?
Hello and thank you for your video. Can you please advise me on the below as I am a little bit confused and not the best with computers and electronics. I plan to purchase two Nintendo Switches and a family plan to play online with my son who is Japan and me in the US. Would I play on my/primary console registered to me on his profile and then he plays on his own console registered to himself with my profile? I will be the one purchasing the games. Or do I give my son my primary console to play on with his profile and I take his secondary console and play with it under my profile? When I decide to purchase/download new games, on which console and profile does it need to be bought under? Can I still buy games and share them with my son if I am holding the secondary console in the US or do I need the primary console to do this? Lastly can both consoles play the shared games separately offline under their own profiles and will it save the progress on each? I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks so much
Hi there! So your first explanation is correct. So you both actually have your own respective Nintendo Switch consoles. The only difference is you both add each others Nintendo accounts on both. On his Nintendo switch console, he will be registering your account as the primary console owner. On yours, you'll be registering his Nintendo ID on the shop as the primary console. That way whenever you buy a game, he can log into the ESHOP under your profile and "Redownload" the game on his end. After he "Redownloads" the game, he can click the game and choose his own account profile to play it. He doesn't need to play the game under yours. This works vice versa if he bought a game under his account as well.
@@KlutchxGaming thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Just to confirm since I will be doing all the setting up. When registering both NS's I put myself as primary for both consoles? And then in the Store, I will put my son as the primary user? Thank you.
@@leonidesarpon8670 no if you're doing it from scratch it's much simpler to add both IDS to both consoles and then log into the E store on your son's switch with your account first so it registers as primary. Otherwise you have to go through the process off deregistering. So your sons console will have your Nintendo ID as primary and your console will have your sons Nintendo ID as Primary in the ESHOP
@@KlutchxGaming hello again. I have two more questions to confirm. 1. When I return to the US I should leave my son's console him in console in Japan that has my profile set as primary. After doing the above, which console and/or ID should I use to purchase and share games that both of us can play on an online family account? Lastly when I am back in the US, do I need to change the region or can I leave it set to Japan as that is where I will purchase both consoles and games on the eshop ? Hi, thanks a lot for the great video! So basically, if I buy pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlett on my account, I have a switch and my sister have a switch, both connected to the same account, if we do this procedure we'll be able to play togheter online and locally? thanks!!
Yes you should both be able to play the game however let's say you're game sharing Pokémon violet... While you both can play the game at the same time, you WON'T be able to play TOGETHER on the same copy since it's one game.
However if you bought both games she can play violet and you can play scarlet with each other while game sharing since those are 2 diff games. If that makes sense
Is anyway to gameshare between three or more consoles? Like take switch A which has a game downloaded, is there anyway you could get the game on both switch B and switch C?
Any concerns if games have future updates? For example, do we have to repeat the steps to deregister 1st console and register on the 2nd for software/game updates?
Can you do this with the other person having games already on the switch? Like, if I have a game they want, but they have their own NSO, can I still log in without either person losing games and save files? I signed up for a family account for the game share aspect.
Ok so I have a Nintendo account already for my switch. When setting up my daughters switch lite do I need to make her, her own email/ Nintendo account?
Question. So I noticed once you went to the nintendo online Animal Crossing just happened to be right there (in like the ads) well what game I'm wanting doesn't show up there and I can't figure out where I go to even search for the game I'm wanting. I hope this all makes sense. Can you tell me what to do
But if you logout your account that owns the game on the 2nd switch. Will the game still run?, some say if it is an offline game, you can just go airplane mode and the game should proceed.
Can I just put the account with the games on the 2nd switch first then make the second one the primary and then add the second account and start it with the second account?
So lets say my friend has switch A with the games and account, and I got switch B with my own account and no games. I deregister A and B, and put switch A info on B, download the games, then I deregister switch A info from B and put it all back to normal, will i still be able to play the games with Switch A account deregistered, but still having his profile? And using my switch B as main account and play with that?
Great explanation - nothing better than seeing it done in person. I have a second account and profile on my primary Switch which i use to buy games that are cheaper in another region. Can I use the method here for both accounts?
Hi, I have a question. I have already linked an account of a friend of mine on my switch. If I wanna download games that my friend bought, do I have to unlink my account and link his account like in this video? Or is there an easier way
If you guys are gamesharing with each other already following the steps in this video, you simply go to the eshop with their account and go to "re-download"
The only thing I'm worried about is if my primary account is on let's say my newphews switch to game share he can just purchase games through eshop with my card since my account is now on his switch
Ok, I deregistered my account and it seems to be working. My question is now, what if I want to buy a NEW game once the accounts are deregistered? Do I buy it using the deregistered account and then just download it with the new primary? In other words, do I need to deregister an account again once I have new games to share?
Great Video, I finally understood it.👍🏼 But I have a question, for example: I played the digital copy of Animal Crossing with my Account on the first switch(but another User on the Switch bought the game), now if I transfer my Account to a second Switch and share Animal Crossing with the second , can I still play with my old savegame?
I have a question Let’s say that the first switch gets a new digital game. Will the whole process have to be repeated again in order for the second switch to have the game too or no?

For example, do we have to repeat the steps to deregister 1st console and register on the 2nd for software/game updates?
Nope
@@KlutchxGaming I see, thank you :)
So we can just update as long still connected to the sharing account
@@nanonini yeah nothing changes unless you derigester or make another switch the primary
@@KlutchxGaming what happens if you deregister your secondary? Do they keep the games still?
so the original switch can play the games you paid for and downloaded without wifi right? i think i missed that part in the video
Can you do this with the other person having games already on the switch?
Like, if I have a game they want, but they have their own NSO, can I still log in without either person losing games and save files?
I signed up for a family account for the game share aspect.
what if the top one is my switch not my childs, can I do the the de-register process again? so it doesn't have to check online for me
Ok so I have a Nintendo account already for my switch.
When you deregister it says you can no longer play w/o internet. Does that mean you can’t play digital games on car rides unless you re-register?
Do you know how to gameshare without having to have an internet connection on the non-primary switch?
Nope
Can I just put the account with the games on the 2nd switch first then make the second one the primary and then add the second account and start it with the second account?
But if my first console is deregistered still then can i not buy more games now? And what about updates. I dont want my main switch deregistered
If I Gameshare my games with somebody else, can I play my own games without internet service? For travel purposes that is
Will need a connection , after you successfully Gameshare .
Wait slo dlo you need a family member ship or just second one needs one
So could both switches play the same game at the same time together? smash bros online?
So lets say my friend has switch A with the games and account, and I got switch B with my own account and no games.
I deregister A and B, and put switch A info on B, download the games, then I deregister switch A info from B and put it all back to normal, will i still be able to play the games with Switch A account deregistered, but still having his profile? And using my switch B as main account and play with that?
Once its done, can i add the alt account onto the primary switch to use the games that was on the alt account?
do i have to subscribe to nintendo family plan ?
Thanks!! for this video!!!
Is there a way to do this where the original game’s owner can stay the primary console? Or no
Do you have to be on the same membership account for both switches? Like family one?
Nah
I let someone barrow my primary account that i don't talk to anymore is there any way i can remove it from their switch
Will I be able to play online with the person I gameshared with?
If i buy lets say a digit version of mk8 from gamestop. Will this still work?
Your a life saver
Can this be done both ways with only one Nintendo switch online subscription?
am i only able to play the game on both devices whilst my online subscription is active or do i just need the online subscription to set it up?
You need 2 NSO subscriptions.
Ok, I deregistered my account and it seems to be working. My question is now, what if I want to buy a NEW game once the accounts are deregistered? Do I buy it using the deregistered account and then just download it with the new primary? In other words, do I need to deregister an account again once I have new games to share?
you would just buy it with the snuffy account i think like normal
Great Video, I finally understood it.👍🏼
But I have a question, for example: I played the digital copy of Animal Crossing with my Account on the first switch(but another User on the Switch bought the game), now if I transfer my Account to a second Switch and share Animal Crossing with the second , can I still play with my old savegame?
Anima crossing is linked to your switch. Unless you do a back up within the start menu then it saves to the cloud

Ah alright, thx
What if it’s not working. I followed the steps but their account shows up empty
Is it possible to play Diablo 3 with this method on 2 switches? D3 requires battlenet account logged, so it might be a problem for this feature?
Yes you can one person needs primary and one person needs to be connected to Internet on the accoun that purchased the game to play together
I have a question
Let’s say that the first switch gets a new digital game. Will the whole process have to be repeated again in order for the second switch to have the game too or no?
No
So can I add the second user to the first one if they both have games to share?
do you still can play offline or do u alway gotta have wifi?
