  • Battery powered and a Beast. Not too often I get excited about a Snow Blower. But when it comes to the Toro Power Clear 21 in. 60-Volt Commercial Brushless Single-Stage Self-Propelled Cordless Electric Snow Blower I was blown away.

Ginji, you gotta put your snowblower away with an empty carburetor, before you store it, just the fuel valve off and let it run until it does.
The worst thing for small engines is a gummed up carb, which tends to happen with E10 gas. And try and syphon as much of the fuel out of the tank as you can, and top it up with fresh gas when you go to use it in the winter. You'll never have an issue starting it when you need it if you go this route.

That's why I bought my ego mower because of all the problems with gas even tho it's used more than snow blowers it's a lot fewer headaches!!! I'm definitely looking into a snowblower, and it will be Toro. I just need to save for it! Thanks for the review.

Toro makes great machines. My Father's 24yr old Suzuki powered CCR 3000 still starts on the first pull. My 19yr old R-Tek powered CCR 3650 does too. In the summer I cut with a 32yr old Suzuki 2-cycle powered Toro Recycler. That mower starts from cold with a half pull of the rope.

I’ve had my Battery/ Toro for a couple years here in Wisconsin. (mine only has 1 battery) It will do about 35 minutes with eco mode off, clearing moderate snow.
I Love it and like how quiet is.
If the snow is too heavy, it would be nice to have a power drive.

Some Toro's earlier corded powercurve models actually had a crank handle for the side-to-side motion of the discharge chute like like you would find on older gas snow blowers. Those machines didn't even have headlights.

If you do not have the battery setup, you may want to try the corded plug-in version....I have the snow-joe version and think about it like a toaster or a fan (plug it in and use it)...... At only 35lbs, it sits on the shelf until I need it.... Our electric is underground and snow is infrequent in NC.....

I was really all set to purchase this Toro snowblower but I can't get over it not have the crank handle. What I would gain in convenience of it being electric, I would lose in constantly having to lean over this machine to adjust the chute. It's so glaringly missing. Come on Toro!

What do you recommend for a Gravel Driveway?

    • @CR-ow2wp
      @CR-ow2wp Рік тому

Not sure about this particular snowblower, but most 2-stage snowblowers have "shoes" or pads at the bottom to allow the snowblower to glide along the surface.
For a gravel driveway, the instructions for my Snow Tek 2-stage blower recommend to adjust the shoes so the front is 1/4" off the ground to be able to remove the snow without taking in any gravel stones.
I believe most 2-stage snowblowers work like that, where you can adjust the height of the front of the blower to accommodate a gravel driveway.

Personally, I’ve never had any “tune ups” to do, just basic stuff that takes 10 minutes. And my blower always starts when I need it to. I also go around my neighborhood and help out the people that bought battery blowers that shut down when faced with real Canadian snow.

a big draw back to battery power is forgetting to charge the batteries. no doubt about it. these machines aren't made to go longer than what they're capable. there are advantages to having gas powered devices as there are major disadvantages to having battery powered devices.

Don't buy this. The plow guy came once last year and charged me $425 for the season. So I bought one of these and a third battery. I have run it three times including yesterday. It was thirty yesterday, so not cold not hot. Fortunately I have a hose bibb in the garage and hot water as this thing bogs down if the snow is wet. Chute gets clogged quickly and has to be cleaned out. Have not had a storm to date where this machine didn't clog up multiple times.

Let's be honest. This is not the snowblower for most people. It looks extremely cheaply made.. It's small. And it's expensive. You didn't really have a lot of snow, and there was no ice or hard packed stuff at the end of a driveway. Also your driveway is nice flat concrete. I think that in most use cases a two stage snowblower is way better and they have ones now that operate like a car and don't have a carb which solves the carb problem. Oil extractors make oil changes a breeze. And the time you save is worth its weight in gold. Nobody is going to sit outside with this tiny snow blower.. I understand this is a paid review and you have to pretend to like it, but these corporations are out of touch with reality and are pushing plastic junk for profits.. the average consumer doesn't know any better. Have a blizzard and lose power and you're sol.

@@pestandlawnginja I edited my response above. Also they have ariens snotek blowers that regularly sell for 700 bucks. So you could literally save 500 dollars and have a more powerful and capable machine. I think this is marketed towards people who don't really get a lot of snow and maybe businesses that clean side walks. I just don't see homeowners buying this. I live in New York and I can't imagine waking up and using this to clean snow before I go to work.

Thanks for clarifying. UA-cam’s guidelines require us to say it was “promoted” when we received an item or are paid to sponsor a product. Toro doesn’t pay. Nor do they require me to sign a contract. Nobody was paid to say anything. Go watch the ego vs toro vídeo.
With that said. There was not ice chunks but there was over an inch of slush. And I ended up going through secondary pushed snow and sand from the city snow pushers. You are correct that single stage pushers like this one are not meant for gravel or surfaces that aren’t flat.
As for quality… this is not an aluminum base as for what they use in there upper models. But it doesn’t feel cheap.
Overall glad you’re speaking your mind. I don’t like the “product pusher” mentality. I like raw feedback so we can make better videos. Have a great night
