    The EGO SNT2112 (as reviewed) is a fantastic snow blower, and appears to be a unit that will operate for many years, and parts are also easy to come by should you need them. I have included the links above to all iterations of this snow blower, the full parts list, as well as the normal wear and tear parts that would need replacing on any snow blower with normal use. Enjoy the video, and be sure to check out the snow blower at the links above. I apologize of the length of the video, but I wanted to ensure to include plenty of use video so you can see and hear what it performs like.

    Thank you very much! We just bought one based on your review. So far it is great, easy to operate, throws the snow well out of the way, no jams, gets a little snagged on our driveway as the tarmac isn’t smooth, no problem on the sidewalk, managed to chew up the day old snow no problem.

    Awesome video! We literally just went to Ace and bought one of these largely because of your review. I have a big Ariens gas snow blower that I call "the beast". It does a great job on major snows, but my wife won't touch it. She actually wanted this Ego after watching our 82 yr old neighbor use his yesterday (and after seeing your video this morning). I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually looking forward to the next snow! My wife has already named it "the Tesla".

    Great video! Just used mine Ego for the 1st time, the one without metal auger, and love it. I have been a fan of Ego products having a mower, blower and weed eater and all the batteries are interchangeable. I wish I didn't wait so long to get it. Bought my house 5 winters ago and kept saying, "we won't get that much snow next year" and we have and I getting to old to shovel that much!!

    Great review! Thank you! I bought one but it hasn’t snowed enough yet. I have the EGO mower and string trimmer which are very good and the 650 CFM blower which is exceptional. I use it to blow snow off my car as well as clear off the walkway if it has longer snow on it.

    Thank you for this great review!!! I pre-purchased this model yesterday, it arrives in a few days! Can't wait to try it and save my back and also the potential risk of having a heart attack...I went with the steel auger vs the model with the hard rubber paddle, I know the paddle swipes closer to the ground but I feel they wouldn't break up hard icy snow and the bigger chunks at the end of the drive where the plows block you in.... Thanks for sharing!!! 👌😊

    The thing with ego (or any battery powered equipment) is you need to get into their eco system . I've gone ego, lawn mower, string trimmer (by far the best there is) blower, hedge trimmer...etc. very,very happy! Had a 7.5 battery go bad was replaced without any drama whatsoever! Always by the "kit" if you can. Like you said it's the batteries that cost.

    Remember with tools you get what u pay for. The snow-joe is most likely suitable for what u were blowing 2"
    I have the Ego that you're reviewing. My only minor gripes are when u fold the handle for storage is that u can't lock it in place. Also the cover for the batteries should have some kind of rubber to prevent moisture from getting in & when u lift the lid to have a better degree of opening so that it's not constantly closing on your hand. Lastly where the inside above the auger for the light housing can get a build-up of snow. What I do is spray wd-40 in that area to cut down on the build-up. Again none of these minor gripes are a deal breaker. Works fantastic, no more gas for me!

    I have an Ego+ snowblower with the 7.5 batteries that's 7yrs old so it has the rubber auger that's been really good to me. But I'll upgrade to the steel auger next year. The one thing I'll tell anyone is to get it with the 7.5 batteries with the snowblower because you'll save two or three maybe 4 hundred dollars when they're bundled with the snowblower. Those 7.5 batteries cost over $400 each when bought separately.

    I'm actually looking at one of these after having a husqvarna gas single stage blower not starting the following season. I work with a crew clearing downed trees from rivers and use batter powered winches that are amazing. I'm going to sell the gas snowblower after its repaired. I LOVE the ability to rotate the chute on the fly as so many dont have that and its a total pain. I also wanted a metal auger since a rubber one sucks when going through after the plows have gone through and build up a pile in front of the driveway

    When you get older you may appreciate a drive motor on the wheels, but right now you are younger and the exercise is good for you, pushing the unit around manually. Although you do have a little bit of an incline coming out of the backyard. I recently got an ego 2 stage this winter, (2022), and yeah, love it, but I'm much older and probably need self-propelled. If I was your age the single-stage unit would be plenty.

    Nice review video!
    I have Ego SNT2114. It's great. I used on the piles of heavy snow left by plow trucks. I was worried if its motor can handle it or not. it did okay, but it was such a physical work lol
    The ends of steel housing look like they are getting beaten up a bit. I think itt's a nature of single stage blowers..
    To protect housing and reduce stress, I installd skid pads for 2nd stage snow blowers. As for Warranty, Mmmm 🤫🤔

    • @shion_lwn
      @shion_lwn 2 роки тому +1

      @mikemike yea I know.. $50 with tax/piece here in Canada. It wears much faster than I thought cuz of a very bumpy surface in my area.
      I could just go with keep replacing the scraper bar, but I'm more with protecting the housing.
      I saw multiple guys on youtube who had the same Ego, and their bottom of the housing was beaten up.
      I installed the skid shoes sooner, so the damage on the housing is very minimal so far.

    I checked this out, didn't like that the rubber pads do not touch the surface it's blowing. It relys on the blade scraping the snow, ice surface up to where the blade can grab and throw the snow. Here we get ice and hard snow build up and this machine would be hard to work here because you have to push hard to break up that hard packed snow and ice. So I'm sticking with the reliable Toro which has the rubber blade scarping on the ground and also making it easy to move along the surface as the blades are pulling you forward.

    Just used mine in maybe 2 inches of light snow. Extremely quiet. Went through the snow easily, but gets caught on every nook and cranny like when sidewalk sqaures don't meet up perfectly. It kind of felt "self propelled" on asphalt driveway but felt like i had to push it on cement sidewalk. It feels cheep and platsticy. I'm not sure how it will handle the heavy ice and snow that the city plows push up into my driveway. The snow shoots out great, but some snow juts out the front , so never expect a totally clean drive way. If I were you, I'd ask a neighbor if you could try theirs, before u invest in one. I'll keep mine, but I'm keeping my Toro single stage as back up as that TEARS through snow.

    NICE REVIEW! A REAL CLOSE LOOK AT THE JOEBLOW ION 100 VOLT, RYOBI TWO STAGE 40 VOLT AND YES EVEN THE EGO TWO STAGE, REVEALS SIMILARITIES LEADING ME TO WONDER IF THEY WERE ALL MADE BY THE SAME CHINESE "TOY" FACTORY. I ALMOST BOUGHT EITHER THE TORO 724 OR 824 QXE SNOWMASTER WITH THE CRAPPY CHINESE "LONCIN" ENGINES (212cc or 252cc). I SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED THE HONDA 720. THE HONDA 190cc ENGINE IS AN "OVERHEAD CAM" WHICH MEANS THE "RUBBER CAM BELT" IS EMERSED IN OIL AS IT ROTATES THROUGH THE CRANK CASE.
    TO BE CLEAR, I DID NOT MEAN TO SAY "OVERHEAD VALVE". I DID INDEED SAY "OVERHEAD CAM". RUBBER OVERHEAD CAM BELTS IN CAR ENGINES ARE VERY COMMON. THEY ARE EXTERNAL TO THE CRANKCASE AND ARE "NOT" EMERSED IN ENGINE OIL. I THINK I'M SOLD ON THIS EGO SNT2114 STEEL AUGER MACHINE. CHEERS.

The problem I saw was there was a very thin layer of snow left after using this and which turned into ice and got tricky for me to remove as it became really hard ice later. All the homes near me who used a snow blower had no residue and there were clear walk ways shown on their side....may be the steel auger is not low enough or am i missing something.....any suggestions will help. I wish people would wait until they get a deep wet snow to do the reviews. These things are not cheap, so we want to see how they perform in the most difficult conditions. People never talk about plow piles at the end of the driveway performance, and they never say if they are propelled forward by the impeller like gas powered ones are.

  • @JJ-qt6wc
    @JJ-qt6wc Рік тому +1

    This is an absolute no go ! We just had 28 degree temps and maybe 2 or 3 inches and this did a terrible job ! You feel like you are PUSHING your way through the snow. On rare occasions did it go smoothly. And like other reviewers have said, it snags on every nook and cranny between side walks and driveways. As like Snow Joe shovels, some of the snow turns into a mist and spaysr in front of the blower, putting snow on areas you just cleaned. I'm 70 and didn't want to have to use man power to push the snow. Push, pull back, push, pull back. Ridiculous ! It took me 34 minutes to do the driveway and sidewalk, and the both batteries were down to 1 of 4 lights charged after starting with a full charge. Feels cheap. I am SOOO GLAD I kept my Toro Gas. I can't imagine trying to get through the snow the snow plows leave at the end of my driveway.

    Not terribly impressed. I can see how much arm power it takes to push through what looks like about 3” of snow; my Toro single stage gas thrower with rubber paddles used to handle 5” or more of wet icy snow with ease. Really I find the biggest issue with small units isn’t the auger power, but rather the small narrow tires. It’s a little like trying to steer a shopping cart across an ice rink.

      I do not feel my rubber unit does pull forward at all as it does not touch the ground like the Snow Joe ion 100V. I actually swap out the rubber with the steel auger half way through last snow season and cutting through snowplow piles and wet snow is actually easier. That been said, I am enjoying the effortless self-propelled snow blowing with the EGO two stage unit now with the single stage as a backup or light duty unit.🙂

    $699! I wouldn't hesitate. Unfortunately in Canada Ego products are overpriced by a couple hundred dollars or more, while most of the competition comes at similar prices with the US, after currency conversion.

    Could this be stored all winter in a garage with no heat? Or would it freeze parts and not work properly?

    • @elpaulodelnorte
      @elpaulodelnorte 2 роки тому

      Had mine stored inside a non-heated shed or simply left in the backyard in the deep cold outside (many -30 Celsius nights in January ) while I kept the batteries inside for recharging and in between uses. Machine starts and works flawlessly.

    Two inches of snow isn't much of a test. When you have 8-10 inches and a snow plow drift that has set up for a few hours, that is a test.

      Sadly as time goes on everything is disposable. My old gas Aron’s is 20 years old and still killing it. The batteries will be garbage on this in less than ten. They will want what he paid for it for new batteries. If getting them is even possible. I do like the idea of no carb issues but that’s about it. I often get 12 to 20 plus inches and have a real driveway. I do use a snow joe for my deck. It’s corded.

    Great blower but poorly designed on the scraper bar. It will chew up the scraper bar after 2x of usage, and making it hard to push the blower. I have to improvise by adding the skid shoes on both sides of the auger box. I used the Ego skid shoes. Wow, night and day! Now, I don't have to worry about chewing up the scraper bar.
