- This is the Japanese translated version of the song "They're Only Human" made for the 2015 Japanese production.
I do not own Death Note the Musical or anything to do with it.
Music: Frank Wildhorn
Lyrics: Jack Murphy and Ivan Menchell - Комедії
English version: aw those poor humans
Japanese version: 3:09 roasting session
Sad thing is that Ryuk and Rem’s descriptions of humans certainly have some truth to them.
Perspective and truth are not the same thing,.
Damn this feels less rem focused and more Ryuk focused. Even the title change reflects it. I love how slightly different the feels are.
I like the Japanese lyrics better (after listening to both versions quite some time). I feel that Rem is pitying the humans and that Ryuk is just bored out of his mind and wants something to do. In the English version I don't really get that. Acting may play a part in that too of course. Just a different way of portraying the roles. Also the ending of this version: how about this? Makes sense, but the English version is saying something like 'let's call'. I don't get that. Both have great lyrics though. Just my opinion. Thanks for the lyrics video, makes it easier to pick up some words in my vocab.
"Let's call" - like in response to a bet, probably.
To me, after listening to the English version many times, it sounds like ryuk genuinely doesn’t care about humans at all. He likens them to ants and that’s exactly what humanity is to him. But rem has a curiosity and interest starting especially around humans feeling love but ryuk doesn’t care for such things, he just wants to see chaos. Their opening lines describe them perfectly “look at how they crawl around, across the ground like little ants” “yes but how they fascinate”. This musical just made me love the anime and manga even more!
I took the "let's call" to mean "let's make contact"
Let's call like grim reapers
Right, that could be it! I always found it a bit strange because they aren't really 'calling' like grim reapers. They are just going down to look and in Ryuks case, have some fun.
Thanks for the translations! I wanted to listen to the Japanese version for quite some time and never managed to find translation so I can understand the words. You’re awesome!
It's scary how Japanese and English Rem's voices sound similiarly
Japases words and emotion fit this song. They act well.
The quality is sick, man. Good job. Lov it!!
WHat? I'm aLIVE? Yeah. Sorry.
I made this, then decided to wait until my next milestone, then gave up so here we are.
More to come??? Not often but I'll start back up. Maybe twice a month.
So happy you've come back! Who would interest in Death Note musical without you?!
Thanks for this beautiful song! Rem's and Ryuk's voices are wonderful in this duet and besides... Their lines fit so well the characters, don't you think? There is Rem's fascination for mankind, and maybe also a bit of pity for them, whereas Ryuk is full of scorn and amusement for the futility of men's life. So well done!
why do i get a circus ish vibe from the music?
Same ! Perhaps because to them we are all clowns 😂
@@SannySparrow Yeah probably
I’m glad you’re back! I missed you a lot.
Holy fuck thank you for translating this thank you so much
Technically I didn’t translate it, I found the translated lyrics someone posted to tumblr and made a few edits as I did the video.
There is mistake in 0:47 It' supposed to say waraeru ne, cause wareru means to break/divide
Why I got siblings vibe
You’ve saved my entire life
If it's not too much trouble I was wondering if you could do Inochi No Kachi. (I think that is what its called) I just love that song and it would mean a lot.
Borrowed Time in the English version, right? Sure.
Can we have Mortals ans Fools reprise next?
Woman's voice👌
I think the lyrics are more interesting in Japanese, but, the english version seems to have more emotion
so you are alive
Almost had you worried there, didn't I?
1 guy left to sub!
Uff no I prefer the english version of the musical. I mean it was written in English and I do think it shows, the lyrics and music just doesn't fit together well. A shame.
What does english bullshit have to do with it lmao
And you mistook romanji (the way syllables are shown for japanese sometimes) for english
Im gonna fucking implode rn 💀
@@lxdy_jinxx no they don't.
