  • Bonus Feature: The work in this video is was performed on a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport with a 1.5L Engine. This detailed video is showing the step by step process of changing the oil and filter. It also shows you how to remove the lower panel under the oil drain pan.
We do not use a car lift or car ramps. We use floor jacks and jack stands to lift the vehicle and perform the work. If you’re working on your car alone, floor jacks and jack stands may be preferred. Driving up on ramps should always be done with a spotter. There is a risk of driving too far off the end of the ramp or tires are not properly centered. Using Jacks and Jack stands do take more time and must be used correctly.
Safety is a key focus including gloves, safety glasses, wheel chocks, jack stands and using the electronic parking brake.
PLEASE READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. This specific vehicle takes 5.3 Quarts of Oil. We are using Mobil 1 - full synthetic - 5W-20. We are also using the Motorcraft Oil Filter FL-910-S.
Torque Specs - Oil Drain Plug (16mm) is 29 ft lbs and the Oil Filter is 18-20 ft lbs.
This video will also show you how to reset your Oil Life (light indicator).
We also do the Ford Flood Start process after the oil change to ensure we do not dry start the vehicle.

I’ve oiled my gaskets on the very oil filter for the last 55 years. Never had a problem.
