Well done. Simple, straightforward, and gave me all the info I need to change the oil on my daughter's hunk of crap 3 banger. You rock (but you already knew that)!
Nice. Have the same vehicle. Big Bend badge. Shield makes it a tough driveway oil change job. Lol. No problem w vehicle thru 34,000 miles. Only gripes are no lumbar support on seats and basically the same steering wheel that's on my riding mower.
Ok anyone with a tgdi engine should always use full synthetic oil. Period. No matter what anyone or any dealer/manufacturer tells you. Use Mobil 1’s full synthetic gf-6a 5w-20 instead. My mother changed it to that oil and it made her engine run smoother, quieter, and get a bit better gas mileage. And ALWAYS change your oil every 5k miles or every year on a tgdi engine.
Love my '21 Bronco Sport! We traded our lackluster '17 Rav4 for it. Fun driving, comfortable, solid small SUV. Also have a '14 F150 Lariat w/Ecoboost motor that's never given us any issues. 145k mis & goin strong!
With all the screws holding the skid plate, belly pan, dust cover (whatever it's called) why did they feel they needed to put two push pin retainers in? It doesn't make sense.
I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands with the 2.0 Ecoboost. I bought a maintenance plan from ford, this means I can only get the oil changed every 7,500 miles. Is this too long of an interval?
Me personally I think it is. I go by how much oil it holds first second what engine. These Ecoboost and how hot they get and turbos I wouldn’t go past 5,000 but thats me.
Read your manual in the glove compartment. There is a system with newer cars(including this one) that detects when you need your oil changed. This saves you money and helps the environment seeing as you only change the oil when you actually need it.
I just finished doing and oil change on mine and I'm getting a leak when it runs on that piece between the filter and the block any tips or should I take it to the shop. Also the filter was ridiculously tight.
If it wasn’t leaking before the oil change, the new filter could either have a defective gasket, or the old gasket from the last filter got stuck on the filter housing. That’s what comes to my mind without actually seeing the problem.
@@MichaelAdamsRocks thanks for the reply we checked both gaskets and they were there on both filters. Apparently when I was doing my research there is an oil leak recall on my 1.5L engine.
I thought the same thing, I have a '22 big bend with the 1.5L, and there's no cover on the top of the engine. Must have been something they dropped after '21.
I have 2016 & 2022 Fords in the driveway, and before that a 2010 and 2013. They've all been Metric. If I went back to the '01 and '06 before that it'd probably be the same. Ford builds for the world market I guess, and outside of US, it's pretty well a metric world. I'm in Canada.
Both my Chevy trailblazer and jeep compass trailhawk have cut-outs allowing access to the oil drain plug and filter. So disappointed in Ford lately. This is just another example of poor engineering.
Hate to break it to you, but the second or two that it takes for oil to circulate through an empty filter is not going to do any engine damage nowadays. The way some oil filters are even oriented on some engines make it impossible to install a "full" oil filter without it spilling out. The engine will be just fine.

I'm already imagining how the newby tech at Ford Service will leave that pan loose and vibrating.
Great video, very straigh forward and tells me what I need to know. Thanks!
Great job man. I have one and now I know what the dealer does to change the oil.
Very informative. Please do more of these at the dealership

Nice clean Job , I like your work.
I'd like to see an oil change on the bronco sport badlands, It has the 2.0 ecoboost and metal bash plates underneath.
Yes. I have the Black Diamond with the metal bash plates.
clean work and nice hair cut.
Thank you for your service 👨🔧
Nice Job...I appreciate your time... Thank You
Great Job....I'm curious what is in your sureshot cannister? Just water?

I changed mine to full synthetic at 5k
Agree with your oil change interval also…
Is the plug plastic ?

Nice!! I recently bought my first car and I chose a bronco sport outer banks model and it’s a beast!
Gotta say, I'm not looking forward to removing that cover. Otherwise pretty straightforward. Thanks for the video!
It seems hard to line up on the rack. Is there a trick to it.
With all the screws holding the skid plate, belly pan, dust cover (whatever it's called) why did they feel they needed to put two push pin retainers in? It doesn't make sense.
It's funny because the new Escapes have the same cover (pretty much) and they use screws in place of those two push-pins. I don't get it either.
keeps the DIYers coming into the Dealership, all those belly pan screws are probably i'd guess a PIA if all done laying down under a set of ramps.

I’m not going one mile past 3000.
@@fixedguitar47 3000 might have worked 3 decades ago. U can easily go 5 or more now. Any less and ur wasting money my dude.

I like that better than the Escape. The oil filter location on the Escape was a joke.

What was it that you used to spray the drain plug and filter?
Parts cleaner
@@MichaelAdamsRocks thansj. Do most places spray this stuff? Since we never know.
Why does yours have an engine cover?
I was thinking the same thing. I have a 22 big bend. Don't know if that has something to do with it.

This truck doesn’t use metric, American cars are supposed to use Standard system
Not necessarily true but if it fits, then it fits.

Surprised the new oil filter was not filled and installed empty.
It’s fine
