Nothing to do generation. It depends on the way the vehicle's designed some of the '80s '90s and 2000s vehicles had extremely hard batteries to get out. Try taking a front wheel off to get your battery out better yet. Pull the front bumper to get at your battery.
Thank you! Had to find this video to remove the battery in my maverick, since it’s the same chassis, and nobody else has apparently had to replace a battery yet lol. I was racking my brain at the stupidity of the design to change a freaking battery. Thank you so much for posting this.
Well done, thank you! I've been changing batteries for 50 years and was stumped when it wouldn't lift out. No problem, fire up youtube and watch your video and the problem is solved, thanks again. Particularly useful considering that the battery on the new Bronco Sports is a known problem, lots of premature failures reported.
Very well done Jake! I'm a tech and saw nothing I'd change. One thing that would be good to note is WHY you disconnected the neg(-) battery cable first, and reconnected it last. Some folks might think the order doesn't matter. Thumbs up!
This video saved me! Thank you! I got in my bronco sport and it was going haywire flashing lights and saying something about park brake fault. I googled it and people said it sounded like the battery. But I couldn’t drive it so I had to take the battery out to install a new one. Thankfully this video showed me what to do and now my car is running like normal again!
You are a lifesaver with this video! You made it so easy and easy to understand I super appreciate it! I just changed my bronco sport battery for the first time and first time ever changing a car battery so thank you!!
Thank you very much for this video, I had my new battery out and in in under 15 minutes. Replaced the old stock Ford battery on my '21 Badlands that was less than 3 years old and was having issues, with a new AGM battery. Probably could have warrantied it through Ford, but my dealer was giving me the run around. Went through and did the BMS reset immediately after and works like a charm. Great tutorial!

Walmart H6 AGM battery has a 4 year free replacement warranty $180. (Motorcraft warranty is 3 years free replacement ) the 2023-2024 Ford Part BAGM-48H6-760 is a AGM 760 CCA. for 2021 the ford OE battery is EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) With an OE EFB battery you either replace it with another EFB or install an AGM. The latter can increase the efficiency of the automatic Start-Stop system and result in a more efficient fuel consumption. to extend battery life use the Noco chargers that have an AGM option.
Thank you so much for the video! I’m going to disconnect the battery for my bronco sport, because I’m not going to drive my car for about an year, do I just keep the battery and all the accessories like airbox cover not attached to the car and close the hood? What’s your recommendation in this case? Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much!! I do have a question. When you mentioned if something wasn’t connected back correctly it would let me know. When I get into my car now after replacing the battery it gives me the same alert sound if my door was open, my hood open, etc. does this mean something wasn’t connected back correctly?
I have a 2018 ford T-150 Mid roof Transit Van. I would love to see a video on how to access and or change out the battery on it. Its under the drivers seat.
The reason the battery didn't last the typical 4 to 6 years is because of the extra electrical features of the car., especially the auto stop start. Short trips do not allow a full recharge of the battery so it's constantly in a drained state. One solution is to charge it up once every few months. Noco chargers have a "repair" feature....and it really works!
@@kalitzina the bronco sport has a special negative charge post on the frame. Makes it easier to correctly connect so the battery monitor sensor isn't bypassed.

Spoke with an automotive engineer years ago and asked why they made it so difficult to replace certain items. His reply "we make to put together not to take apart"
I've had to charge my battery the last two years and this is the first time I've changed it altogether in year three. I think it's because of the remote start gadgets.
Man idk wtf i thought I was getting bit by a bug as it happened like 3 times ina row 2 times from drivers side fender, once from the hood prop rod. when removing battery bolt to add an amp into a buddies 21 bronco the other day with only 2000km on it. Wondered wtf, then realized I can re create it with my ratchet on the positive terminal bolt, and touching the fender or any metal. Never in my life on any vehicle has this ever happened to me LMAO little tingle shocks. Something fkd or what???
Optima shows h6 as of yesterday for what its worth. The ford battery is trash and dies quickly. Also because of the technology, your car can die while driving because of battery. Found that out yesterday channeling my outer found on road dead.
@@Batlasfyi, it's only a Ford labeled battery. There's only three or four major battery manufacturers in North America. It's nothing to do with it being a Ford battery. i ended up ripping it out without taking the air box out and when replacing used a flat head on one of the tabs leveraging it on so it jus pops right in,, took like 40 min DO NOT RECCOMEND 😹
I dont understand why ford had to put those tabs on the back end of the battery. The metal crossbar holds the battery in well enough! Stupid unnecessary
Yeah this is pretty easy compared to some cars. Try having to take off your front tire to get to your battery or remove the front bumper to get to your battery.
Car engineers making a simple battery removal a pain with every new generation.
no kidding! to remove the battery, take apart the in take system! wtf?!? 😂
The guy at auto zone couldn’t install it because of this.

This is pretty simple compared to some of the cars from the '90s and early 2000s
Step 1: Remove the engine from the car
Step 2: Slide the battery out
Reverse steps to install new battery.
Simple!
step 3 - reset the BMS (documented in the owners manual)
