The total reliance on electronics in this vehicle scares me. Software dominate. One hungry mouse could spell disaster with all the wiring.
The wiring is more protected than in most ordinary trucks.
So exactly the same as with all new vehicles (not only electric) - just here is better made (does not mean its not going to brake)
It has way fewer wires than an ICE vehicle.
Oh just wait until there are software updates and some coder accidentally puts the wrong code bricking the truck.
Yep. Elon said so and he’s never been wrong.
My nieces husband just bought one, he was one of first to put down deposit, he said he paid 90k with tax and license , it gets finger prints all over the aluminum, he’s talking about having it plastic coated, she got into it with sunblock all over her and the seats got stained so he had to spend several hundred dollars for seat covers. You can’t charge it over 80% so you can maybe get 270 miles on a charge but when it gets under 90 you get nervous so maybe count on 180 miles to do anything, it is physically impossible for him to go anywhere he might want to use the feature on a charge so it’s just a status symbol
It's stainless steel not aluminium. Seats are easily cleanable. You can charge it to 100% for road trips. For daily use charge at home up to 70%. I only use 15 percent of battery daily.

I would NEVER buy a Tesla for one reason and one reason only. If I buy one, then pay $7k for the autopilot feature, it is unlocked. When I sell it, the person buying it does NOT get that feature. They have to pay Tesla ANOTHER $7k for the feature. That is a disgusting SCAM. If you buy it, and pay for it, it should be transferrable. Period. It's YOURS to do what you want with it, and should increase the selling value of your vehicle. Same with some manufacturers CHARGING for the "option" of heated seats. You buy the car, then have to pay a "monthly subscription" to heat your seats. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. In a few years, pretty much all car manufacturers will be doing this. This "subscription" crap started in the software industry with Adobe, then Microsoft, and now it has made it's way into the automobile industry. The worst SCAM ever.

@TheUnseenKrab my husband and I drive Tundras. I have the 1794 special edition and he has the TRD Pro. We have pulled many things with both. Best trucks!!!
Something created for people who have too much money and desire to give it to a billionaire for 15 minutes ego boost and a whole lot of buyers remorse!! These are ridiculous
I totally agree
That's the entire point of all Teslas. Adults showing off like teens with the latest iPhone.
It's like having a personal mind meld with Elon. How much is that worth?
@cbotten106, that would be what's called negative equity
Agree!
A dirty refrigerator is a very accurate description of this truck 😂
That Cybertruck to me looks and is just plain ridiculous smh
The DeLorean of the 2020s
Exactly!
😆😆😆😆Well Said! I have a friend who loves both vehicles🤣🤣🤣 Thankfully, He doesn't own either one of those scrap heaps.
At least the Delorean had a kind of good looking design. Not this thing. Looks like something a five year old would come up with for a pinewood derby car.
The Delorean & the Pontiac Astek had a ugly love child 😂
The delorean is more beautiful an practical than this thing.💩🤢🤮😖🤦♂️
That cyber box identifies itself as a truck
Fluidity is Real
The big thing I really dislike in new vehicles and especially this one is the
touch screen for operating everything. It is hard to use without taking
your eyes off the road where as using knobs and push buttons
to operate things like the radio and AC is something one can do by feel
without taking your eyes off the road.
Been driving Teslas for years and it’s way safer than all the buttons on my wife’s VW. If you’re concerned you can do anything with voice commands. Try it, they work really really well!
And if the unit fails, get ready to take out a second mortgage to pay for repairs!!! For example: An older Dodge Daytona EVIC went out, and THAT was $3000+ to fix!
Spoiler alert: The Tesla drives itself so its ok
Agreed. Gee! Why not build the distraction into the car!
@@westsailsmusicuntil the unit fails lol

The stainless steel body is part of why the range sucks so bad. It would have still been overkill if it was half as thick as it is now. Plus they used low quality stainless so it's having problems with rusting. You can fix that by wiping it down every time to gets wet or having a clearcoat sprayed. Kind of silly that you need to pay an extra $5000 for a clearcoat just to keep your $100k truck from rusting
It needs to survive reentry from space apparently
No, it absolutely won’t rust! The steel is a proprietary grade designed by SpaceX for their Starship. What you’re describing is industrial fallout from rail transport. The same thing happens to white paint. Sigh 🤕
whats even more silly is paying $5k for a clearcoat...
@@westsailsmusicit's a Scotty UA-cam comment section. You have to expect that the people watching have no education about the product, and it shows. Scotty is included in this.
False. The Tesla Cybertruck uses a variety of steels, including mild, high-strength, ultra-high strength, and stainless steel. The exoskeleton is made from Tesla's patented Ultra-hard 30X Cold-rolled Stainless Steel alloy, which is also used in the SpaceX Starship rocket. The panels are 3 mm thick and are bulletproof against a 9 mm handgun

HONEST VIDEO 😂! He is not even aware of how to operate the vehicle!
Too much reliability on "gadgets". And if you do use it to tow your gonna burn through a charge quickly.
Same or ICE vehicles. It is a matter of mass. More mass to move, more energy required for the same distance. I do not believe the CT is for long distances. Your Lowes, or Home Depot are never far away from your home.
Tesla owners live for the gadgets.
Hi Scotty,
The overhead PRND is the backup selection.
When you put your foot on the brake, the upper left side of the screen displays the F and R for you to select (slide up or down).

My son bought one after being on the waitlist for almost 2 years… He loves it! His wife has the “Y” entry level car- Her car drives itself! His truck doesn’t yet- He said they haven’t turned that part on yet… but it will…But the truck reminds me of the movie “Aliens” when Ripley has to drive the tank vehicle to rescue the marines and crashes through the wall! 👍
I respect the work he's 'trying' to do as in space travel and building new car designs but as with all things... what has been done before aint always broke. This isn't a truck... it's more like an el camino with 90's gaming vibes. It's a toy.
If I'm going to drive anything that friggen ugly, I'll find a used VW Thing, which I would much prefer anyway.
Less than. Got here after another video.... these things are built like trash even by tesla standards. The guy did a slam test and all four doors, if slammed had the inner panels pop off and get logged inside. Destroyed them opening the door back up. He tried to tow a f150 (in all fairness this is after he beat the hell out of the thing and put it through more than a hummer would see in Afghanistan). Went to tow the f150 and the back end ripped right off. The only thing it handled well was at the verry end he tested musks "indestructible/made for a warzone" claim and put a small explosive charge on the tail gate. The charge ripped right through the f150 but on the cyber truck only broke the outer steel plate, tailgate remained. Best part was right off the bat he got stuck at a charging station unable to charge because tesla didn't have him registered as the owner yet.
You guys are DINOSAURS. Whether Tesla or FOrd or Chevy. EV IS HERE TO STAY. ICE are on the way OUT!

For drive and reverse, the ceiling buttons are backups. They want you to use the controls on the left side of the touchscreen. Slide up for drive, slide down for reverse.
@@IntegerOfDoomsounds like regular driving is dangerous for you. I recommend taxi
@@deandawiz Nah it's called operating by feel, not sight. In a conventionally shifted car you shouldn't have to look down at the shifter every time you shift, you operate by feel. Any time you stare at the shifter it's considered poor driving skill. Now this vehicle has no feel, you simply have to blindly slide your fingers all over a flat screen, or look away from the road at the screen. Poor design. What if you wear reading glasses? Going to switch back and forth trying to read fine print on a screen or going to actually drive?

So much miss information in this video. I don't blame him since he has very little experience with EVs. But he should of test drove it with someone with experience so they could answer half his criticisms with what to do.
Its like test driving a manual car with someone who has only driven automatic. They would be lost on how to operate it
I'm sure if he spent 2 days with it he would realize how easy it is and be much more comfortable driving it. People who go smartphone do not go back to flip phone, people who go to smart tesla cars do not go back to dumb ice cars. The data shows that
I would be frustrated not being able to touch and control my own car with those things, I hate things that do things on their own instead of me having control over them, this is a BIG no for me.
