  • G'day and welcome back to the BEST Morris Minor UA-cam channel,
On this episode, Tomo discusses how to convert a MM Morris Minor clutch setup from a cable clutch setup to a hydraulic setup. This is quite easily done and he explains the "in's and out's" of doing it. He also discusses the two different style types of clutch release forks and what the differences are.

    Howdy folks,
I was actually wrong with what caused this clutch arm to bend, turns out it ended up being a combination of items. Primarily the poor adjustment of the clutch pushrod length upon setup more so than the thickness of the sandwhich plate. Along with the diagphragm bottoming out on the clutch plate itself, which in turn bent the pressure plate and snowballed from there.
    Enjoy. Tomo

G'day mate (from UK)! Nice clean underside you have there. Had similar issues over the years with my 1970 Minor Traveller with 1275cc MG Midget engine diaphragm clutch, so I went over to hydraulic actuation - works pretty well up until lately, where I think the clutch pedal arm bush in the chassis leg has worn (the clutch pedal occasionally feels like it's sticking at the bottom of its travel).
I was wondering, what exhaust manifold are you using, that enables you to have a modern style exhaust pipe flange bolting up to it?

      Gday mate,
Thanks for reaching out and for the comment.
Both clutch styles work well but for this application, I definitely felt a hydraulic setup was right for this car. Took a bit of engineering to workout, but we got there.
With the exhaust, we used a standard set of extractors in which I took to an exhaust shop to have them make a flange for it along with a whole new exhaust from manifold back as the old system (unless you haven’t seen yet) was shit and wouldn’t hold up to the power haha it definitely made the vehicle sound and perform that much better 👌🏼
      Hope this helps mate
      Tomo

@@Tomostuneups Nice. I currently have a full Maniflow 1.5" exhaust setup on mine, which seems to suit it pretty well.
