I have a polarized pair sunglasses from INVU, but I can see reflections in the back of the lens if the sun is behind me or in a side..What sunglass you recommend ?

I think the main thing about mirror coatings is color filtration which was totally overlooked; for example the differences between a Brown lens react with a Green coating as opposed to to Bronze coating, or the reason why Blue mirror is most efficient on deep water, etc.

Could you make a video where you put a mirrored and a non-mirrored version of the same types of lenses in front of your camera, for a direct comparison? Like how you showed the effect of polarization? This would be very instructive in deciding whether or not it is a useful feature from a functional perspective.
My biggest thing is getting a pair of shades for driving. When I get off work 7am the sun is absolutely blinding. I have to squint to see and it’s so hard to see the traffic lights. Often I’m using my hand to block out the light. The visor doesn’t help. I would need a pair of prescription sunglasses since I wear glasses but don’t want to use contact for shades. I originally brought a pair of transitional eye seeing glasses that “supposed” to also work behind the car windshield. However so far I haven’t seen it working. So now I’m looking to prescription shades and need to know what to buy. Unfortunately polarized lenses are over 100+ dollars for me. And would like to know if they are necessary for driving/blocking the sunlight. Could I get buy with a non polarized prescription sunglasses? Or even mirrored prescription sunglasses? I developed an eye condition from working outside so often. I have a pair of mirrored Rx glasses now. I should of gotten these sooner.
One reason to choose mirror over polarized lens? Protective film on public transit windows. They use one in my area that feel "oily" when I wear polarized sunglasses. It's nauseating. I'm not subject to transport sickness. But this coating + polarized lens, I'm sick even if the train is fully still.

Serengeti offers polarized and photochromic. Not mirrored to my knowledge.
Hi John! We do offer the Transition Vantage lenses where the lenses are polarized when they are transitioned but the lenses will start off as clear and not tinted. We do not offer a mirror coating with transition lenses as it would not allow the lens to change in sunlight and would stay clear. Thanks for reaching out!

I have been gun-shy for a few years now. I do a lot of surf fishing, shallow flats. I get lost and confused as to what would be best for me. I believe I have come up with the a combination of amber interior color being the best for these conditions and green mirror over the blue. Am I correct in my decision? I am going to get prescription and it gets expensive to get wrong. Any advice?

I can't tell the difference in the polarized and non-polarized in some sunglasses. I have a polarized "dark carbon" lens with 11% light transmission. I couldn't see some screens well, but the bright sun visible while driving bothered me. I then got a "dark arctic mirror" non-polarized lens with 9% light transmission and the sunlight aggravation is the same, but maybe the sun is just going to always be bright unless I'm looking through eclipse glasses. (When it comes to driving, I might just need better windshield and window tint.)

Hi there I had my nerves burned in lasek PRK surgery and have alot of eye pain even when it seems dark outside. I have mirrored lenses that I like the look of which is rare because I don’t like many sunglasses. Is there any spray or product that I can buy to use on my current rimless mirrored aviators to make them polarized? Because I was told I should get polarized. Will that coating applied on top make my mirrored lenses look different ? I think I saw an anti glare spray though I don’t know if that will help my mirrored lenses behave the way polarized would or if mirrored is the best I can expect to get. I’m not so sure polarized will even be better for my eyes than my current rimless mirrored aviators lenses-please advise!

Why can’t you on prescription lenses not be dark? I ordered polarized ray band RX sunglasses polarized and see my eye. I was told they can’t darken them. Would non polarized rx be better, tinted or glass mirror?
Hi Maria! Some labs are not able to darken a polarized lens, as is the case with RayBay authtentic lenses, BUT Sportrx can add dyes to the mix to achieve a lower VLT. Alternatively, If you're looking to completely block onlookers from seeing your eyes then i'd suggest adding a mirror.

Hello! Indeed, any mirror will succumb to scratches and abrasions with relative ease if not properly stored and maintained. Make sure to keep them in the case when not on your face to prolong the life of the lenses ✌️
Do colors on mirror coats do different things for each color?
That is a great question! It depends on the density of the mirror. There can be some color "bleed" from the mirror color, especially with solid mirrors as opposed to flash mirrors. It is relatively minimal, but can sometimes lead to a base color that you're not expecting. One example is that if you get a blue solid mirror on a grey base tint, you will add about 15% yellow to the grey. You'd notice that the grey looks a bit closer to an amber than a true grey color when looking through it. Is a mirror and prizm lens the same?
Those elements are not synonymous but oftentimes go together. Prizm is the term for Oakley's color-enhancing tint technology and the mirror is applied to the frontside of that lens. If you see something like Oakley's Prizm Black, then you are getting their Prizm Grey lens with their Black Iridium mirror coating on the front. Something like Oakley's Prizm Grey lens has no mirror. I hope that helps!
