Dude crazy to hear these insurance prices. I had an 09 R6 paid 364 a yr. Sold it in 2016 when I had kids I got back into riding in 2022 picked up a 2003 Cbr 600 F4i only 160 a yr. Been looking to upgrade to a zx6r but finding one has been tough.
Well 60 months is average here in the states, so 254x60 = $15,240 + $1,500, so will end up paying $16,740 over the whole term, not including the depreciation of the bike.
I bought my first bike in September, got a 2016 Yamaha fz07. Had Gieco for my car insurance and got motorcycle through them for $87 a month. Then after two months i started to shop around and progressive gave me for $35 for full coverage
That crazy low! I have a 2008 gsxr 600 and go through progressive and get a discount for haveing a multi policy and I pay $1,500 a year for insurance on my bike 😭😅 I definitely need to shop around for different insurances next year!
I've quoted about 30 bikes in my lifetime. 600's (sport bikes) and most other bikes for that matter are about $20-$40/month for state minimum (plpd) which is basically if you crashed they give you a $5 bill and send you on your way lol. But full coverage was like $300/month for any sport bike. Naked bikes (mt07/09, sv650, ftr1200) were WAYYYY cheaper for full coverage...like under $100/month easily. If it looks fast. It cost more.
Insurance is insane. I quoted a 2024 zx6r and it’s $320/ month. And I’ve been riding a Suzuki SV650 for 4 years no accidents/ tickets on my driving record
Im putting 5-6k down on a 23 gsxr later this summer and insurance will be $167 a month and Im a first time rider. All the other quotes I got were terrible and 167 for a first time rider on a 600 is pretty good
Out the door price, payments differ for everyone depending on how long they want to finance, down payment, interest rate etc. OTD price is a much better indicator.
I’m buying zx6r next month but I’m having a 2nd thoughts. Both geico and progressive quoted quoted me for 250+ a month for insurance. I’m 28, married, came here in US last 2020 and got my driver license. I passed my M1 license last sept. 20 and waiting for my CMSP on base.

It depends how fast you are going. You don’t want the bike to be bogging like it’s having a hard time. But if you’re like going 50 on the zx6r I could cruise in 6th no problem

Just wanted to say that you got a more ideal video for me cause I am 5'8 and looking to get a ZX6R, looking to drop a decent amount on a possible new one depends on your guys opinions too would help! But I actually would be a new rider and I kinda just don't wanna start on a 400... I finally got my helmet in and looking to get the rest of the gear and ready to start preparing for the BRC class! I know deep down inside I would never EVER would wanna do a wheelie or go crazy on the bike, I am currently 23 and wanna just enjoy that dream of driving a motorcycle, I've been looking into bikes and gear for months to years now and I finally am putting my foot down. I know there has been arguments on what CC a new rider should start on or should buy used or new for a new rider but I honestly am a little lazy and don't wanna find the kinks in a used bike. The end goal is to get the bike and start riding hopefully in a few months but for sure by the end of the year! Glad I found your channel cause again it gave me more of a realistic perspective in my shoes of costs, the height concern, even the possible weight of the bike would concern me a little bit (at a complete stop or slow speeds). Thanks for the info and hopefully other people would give some more tips for me as well, I'm willing to take anything (besides maybe going down to a 400 ;) )
Thanks for watching man! Definitely if you take the BRC course you could ride the zx6r. Just keep it in low power mode with the traction control on and be really easy on the throttle. Just start of slow and take your time to learn the bike before getting on the streets and you’ll be fine!
I’m 21 years old and only 5’4. Just bought a 21 Zx6r and I’m doing just fine. I had a stunted out grom I started on and couldn’t even fully flat foot that😂 just buy the bike!!
Wow!! That’s crazy believe it or not the financing company I was going through wants $237 a month just for payments on the bike and it’s a 23, ninja 650 krt edition abs😭 but instead I re financed it with my bank and now I pay $134 I put a $1,500 down payment as well
As additional reference: 2022 zx6r krt abs I'm in PA and this is what I'm paying: Bike: $0/month (paid in full about 13.5k) Insurance $100/month full coverage from April to Dec. I started on a 650 as well a year ago, indeed was a perfect beginner bike, I was paying $225 and insurance was $70. I bought a 2021 Ninja 650 ABS in April of 2021 I am male, 52 years old, married, live in Miami, FL I paid $9,500 cash OTD I pay $500 per year for full coverage insurance with State Farm There are clear differences between the two bikes. I installed a full system exhaust, Power Commander V, K&N High Flow Air Filter, Re-mapped the fuel to air ratio and had it Dyno tuned. I would have flashed the ECU, but my mechanic didn't have the software at that time. It's a totally different bike. If I had flashed the ECU (which I still might to remove the restrictions for a higher top end) it would go ~150+ mph, current top speed is 130 mph. So, while it doesn't have the top end of a ZX6R, it goes zero to 100 mph much quicker than when it was stock (pretty close to a ZX6R). If I were to get another bike, while I love the ZX6R, I would probably get a ZX10R.
I got a k22 zx6r and I pay $235 a month for just the bike on a 72 months term, I will pay it off in 36 months though. I put absolutely no money down and I pay $69 a month for the insurance.
That’s crazy to hear ur payments on ur bike were only 250 - a month with only 1200 down. I put 2k down on my 500 and my payments are 238 a month. Also the trick with progressive is to fill it all the way out with the drop down tabs and lie on a couple and u will get it down low. Myn is 90 a month.

Next time save up and put down half the MSRP ($5000-6000 down) and ask for a 72 month term. Your monthly payments will be cheaper and you won’t spend your whole life paying off the bike
Instead, you can spend most of your youth saving up for something you likely won't want or can no longer ride. That's why financing is a thing, especially in today's world.

My 650 likes to be in 6th gear once I’m at about 50 and above if I’m just cruising…. Shifting at 4,000 RPMs in each gear just cruising

@@JagMoto636 UK insurance prices 😂 cause I’m a new rider, mixed with the fact I only have CBT (which in the UK basically means that you’re on an L plate and only coke compulsory basic training (CBT) )

I had a 2002 gsxr750 and only payed 26 dollars a month for full coverage. I also had a 2005 zx6r and insurance and 19.00 per month full coverage state farm
$150 a month for insurance? LOL. I have progressive and have a grom, im 22 and my insurance is $119 lol. Im getting a r6 soon and i cant imagine what im going to pay, if anything i might just do half coverage or somethin for the first year and hope i dont wreck lol.
