Top Five Car Mods you should think of doing to your car. I hope you guys enjoy the video if so please give a it a like and feel free to share! Music: What Can Go Wrong-
I would counter with: 1. Oil catch can for GDI engines like your VT 2. Intake, agreed 3. Exhaust agreed, and agree 100% on not spending $700+ on expensive Borla, etc if you're not trying to race. Muffler shops can weld you up something that sounds nice from $50-$400 depending on the labor involved. My 2016 Koup SX muffler delete/axleback was $220. I've payed both $50 and $80 for a simple muffler delete, and the quality of work was much better at the $80 shop. 4. BOV and intercooler resonator delete. Cheap, nice sound results on the 1.6T from Hyundai/Kia. The $25 Tork pipe isn't actually supposed to change the sound but it's so cheap and easy to do, why not? 5. Tune A lot of our KDM buddies do an intake, downpipe, and tune for their performance mods and they're pushing 250hp crank, all for around $1500. That's Focus ST level of performance, 14sec 1/4 mile for thousands less, with a VT or other 1.6T used being around $14,000 and a used Focus ST at about $20,000. Aesthetics like tint and mudflaps are just extra to me and I wouldn't include them in a mod list personally.
I mean, at this point in time you can find Turbo's for around 11,000$-12,500$ with decent mileage. And with a good tune, exhaust, intake, and blowoff valve you're lookin at around 13,000-14,500$.
@@mr.roomtempiq9884 I blew up my Koup 1.6T with a tune, got a new engine and turbo for free, and for some reason I sold the damn car. Smol brane moment on my part.
I added a sixth engineering element system in mine, intercooler, cold air intake, has bov, sks exhaust and some fuel racing lines. Maybe a couple more things but so far having fun. I've only had this veloster 3 weeks. Can't wait to finish my food delivery car.
1.intake (pick a brand, I did K&N because it came with heat shielding, but injen is cheaper I think), 2. Hot Pipe by MBRP, 3. silicone cold pipe by sxth element. 4.rear torsion beam brace 5.Strut tower brace 6. Cat-back exhaust CNT and MBRP have the cheapest sets, but I would go with CNT if you live in the salt belt because they use stainless instead of just galvanized steel. 7.FMIC (you can then sell your hot and cold pipe to recoop some money 8.down pipe 9.tune
-Intake -Full Exhaust, turbo back (downpipe, mid pipe, catback) get a high flow catted downpipe or cat deleted downpipe. -Front mount intercooler with hard intercooler piping -BOV just for the sound -Tune All that combined (besides the bov) will give you a nice power gain
Mine got a HKS BV, Megaflow Exhaust turbo back, K/N Airbox kit, coilovers and better short shifter. -2017 Turbo Type R Black Edition came with factory black wheels and copper and black interior
You'd really like the modding scene in the 90s with people doing up hyundai Excels with cat back exhausts , lowered springs and cold air intakes. These videos reminds me of how people really don't bother modding Velosters.
I have a Rally as well and I would never get it lowered. Lowered cars that you daily are such a pain in the ass. As far as our cars go my top 5 mods would be as follows. 1. Tires 2. Tint 3. Intake and that pipe you can get to replace the restriction in the intercooler hose. 4. Exhaust/downpipe 5. Intercooler 6. Once you have full bolt ons get a tune according to the mods you have.
what do you think would be more expensive buying a performance exhaust or just getting a straight pipe from the cat fabricated? I am looking for something loud?
Noble reflex performance would be I would think. I had my friend that owns a shop here in Utah build me a custom cat back and he only charged me labor. Didn't charge me for anything else haha.
i have 20% tint on the windshield and 5% all around and it takes about a day to get used to the windshield at night but after that you are good. I don’t recommend anything lower than 20% on the windshield or alternatively get some brighter headlights since sometimes you can’t even see pedestrians/cyclists if they are on the side of the road and its very dark and they don’t have any reflective gear.
In my opinion a full catback exhaust is worth it. lighter than stock, more durable, better flow and sound and get the best bang for bucks. I daily mine and have a catback. mbrp pro series with tips and didn't cost over 1k. cnt exhaust are the cheapest for vt's. I agree with intake and bov. also have rally armor. no Springs I took my eibachs off and looking to do it the right way with coilover kit. aftermarket wheels are on one of my top mods. tint is an obvious must have for me.
Instead of an exhaust I was thinking of getting a downpipe bolted to the stock exhaust. I read the downpipe does more "performance" than the exhaust, u know anything about that?
lightweight rim and better types~ just the short spring mod is going to cause suspension to leak. also if it's a turbo car, you gotta tune it after you put those bolt ons (intake, exhaust.) so you can truly feel the performance impact otherwise you are not going get any noticeable performance gains.
Is it difficult to install a blowoff valve? If not, what does everyone think of this one for my 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo? I currently have an axle back exhaust,(muffler delete), an Injen Short Ram intake, and a chip tune by Racechip. www.sxthelement.com/HKS-Super-Sequential-Blowoff-Valve-p/71008-ak001.htm
First mod for the VT should be Oil Catch Can(s) for the PCV and Valve Cover, keep that thing running clean. Second for the VT should be a Rear Torsion Bar (Stabilizer). Nice VT.
I dont know much about cars, but i would like to make it awd, is that even possible? And when it comes to the mods, will i be needing to take extra care of it or just go on my way normally?
Anything is possible with endless amount of money , honestly tho is would probably be easier and cheaper to just get an awn car. Im no expert either but I'm sure you would pretty much be rebuilding the car from the ground up to accommodate for the awd.
@@uzoigweobi9439 oh lol this is not my car in the video I have an elantra sorry for the misunderstanding. But yeah turbos make whistling sounds because they use a turbine to pump more air into the engine. When you hear it spooling up that's the exhaust gases pushing the turbine to make the other turbine push air into the engine for more power.
Yes, check your local laws. Every city! And never, never, ever drive it into Allen Texas with tint and a lowered suspension. They’ll get you for both. You’ll get a ticket for “failure to maintain vehicle ride height”. Then, the officer will tap his finger on your window glass for 10 minutes straight while threatening to write you a tint ticket. In fact, it was the windshield banner he tapped on and was obsessed with removing. So don’t do that either.
Hit up Josh Sadler from kdm tuners he will tell you what’s possible and how much it will run but honestly it would of been cheaper to just buy a turbo model.
Excuse me whats sai and bov smh I gotta base veloster 14 but i’ll one day buy one of you’ll ones wit the wickedest mods or get a decently under used turbo edition and mod it my self either or.... i could rack up driving the base edition for a couple more years haha i like the car so much i may drive a turbo one for a while
Jeremy C I don't know if this helps but my friend has had both coils and air on his veloster, and he liked the coils better. He didn't like the air as much.
sheesh i mean i just wanna be able to slam my veloster anytime at meets. Thats the biggest reason but coils on the other hand is race car. Hopefully i can make up my mind soon !
Real sad. My Veloster makes 160 hp and 140 foot pounds of torque. 1. 60mm Elantra throttle body bored to 63mm 2. A 4" cold air intake with large filter 3. A 2.5" axle back into a 2 chamber muffler 4. Thermostat of 160 degrees 5. 0-60 7.5 secs 6. 20/25mm wheel spacers I do not need a turbo

It's a spoiler (not a wing) from the Veloster Rallye. Base models get a tiny one, turbos get slightly larger (and still usually body-coloured), and rallye get the big black spoiler.
I'll tip my hat to you, then - I know they're offered new with that spoiler from the dealer, but I guess they may be adding it themselves (the usual "dealer-added option" list.) Only seen it on the Rallye, though.
Could be something that dealer is doing or maybe its an option I've just not seen on one. Though if its an option you should be able to order it from Hyundai. I'll have to look into it.
I just checked the website for Hyundai USA and they're not showing the car with that rear spoiler, or an optional spoiler in their accessories list - mea culpa.
