I would counter with: 1. Oil catch can for GDI engines like your VT 2. Intake, agreed 3. Exhaust agreed, and agree 100% on not spending $700+ on expensive Borla, etc if you're not trying to race. Muffler shops can weld you up something that sounds nice from $50-$400 depending on the labor involved. My 2016 Koup SX muffler delete/axleback was $220. I've payed both $50 and $80 for a simple muffler delete, and the quality of work was much better at the $80 shop. 4. BOV and intercooler resonator delete. Cheap, nice sound results on the 1.6T from Hyundai/Kia. The $25 Tork pipe isn't actually supposed to change the sound but it's so cheap and easy to do, why not? 5. Tune A lot of our KDM buddies do an intake, downpipe, and tune for their performance mods and they're pushing 250hp crank, all for around $1500. That's Focus ST level of performance, 14sec 1/4 mile for thousands less, with a VT or other 1.6T used being around $14,000 and a used Focus ST at about $20,000. Aesthetics like tint and mudflaps are just extra to me and I wouldn't include them in a mod list personally.
I mean, at this point in time you can find Turbo's for around 11,000$-12,500$ with decent mileage. And with a good tune, exhaust, intake, and blowoff valve you're lookin at around 13,000-14,500$.

i have 20% tint on the windshield and 5% all around and it takes about a day to get used to the windshield at night but after that you are good. I don’t recommend anything lower than 20% on the windshield or alternatively get some brighter headlights since sometimes you can’t even see pedestrians/cyclists if they are on the side of the road and its very dark and they don’t have any reflective gear.
what do you think would be more expensive buying a performance exhaust or just getting a straight pipe from the cat fabricated? I am looking for something loud?
Noble reflex performance would be I would think. I had my friend that owns a shop here in Utah build me a custom cat back and he only charged me labor. Didn't charge me for anything else haha.
I have a Rally as well and I would never get it lowered. Lowered cars that you daily are such a pain in the ass. As far as our cars go my top 5 mods would be as follows. 1. Tires 2. Tint 3. Intake and that pipe you can get to replace the restriction in the intercooler hose. 4. Exhaust/downpipe 5. Intercooler 6. Once you have full bolt ons get a tune according to the mods you have.
lightweight rim and better types~ just the short spring mod is going to cause suspension to leak. also if it's a turbo car, you gotta tune it after you put those bolt ons (intake, exhaust.) so you can truly feel the performance impact otherwise you are not going get any noticeable performance gains.
Instead of an exhaust I was thinking of getting a downpipe bolted to the stock exhaust. I read the downpipe does more "performance" than the exhaust, u know anything about that?
