    I'm a VT owner out here in Colorado and never put a lot of time into my cars. But I've kind of fallen in love with the VT and your videos really inspire me to learn how to modify and make the car a bit of a passion project. Its a fun mountain road car BTW. Thanks for all of the tips. I have a 2016 Veloster turbo w/ a manual transmission. She’s a fun car to drive, but unfortunately she has a mind of her own and is always trying to get me in trouble. She insists on going 20 or more mph over the speed limit! …LoL She’s a little speed demon, but I love her! :)

It goes beyond owner's manual quality & addresses some of the more sublime topics & their time saving methods...Hyundai should take lessons & edit parts of this video into an addendum for its manuals! Very interesting, my favourite tricks I learned from this video:
    - Using rear hatch cargo cover as a bench to hold tools, etc while doing work on the rear
    - Velcro cargo net on the back of the seat
    - Custom photo on infotainment (you said you thought it was pretty basic, but it really isn't haha! Thanks a ton for sharing this one)
    -*My voice assistant used to ALWAYS Work for me, not it never works at all... Really wonder what happened but it stopped working for me like 6 months ago or so. She never understands what I say anymore :/

    As a veloster owner 2015 white. I recommend a cold air intake for the first upgrade! I love my CAI and the sound it makes is addicting lol. The intake will make the turbo sounds more noticeable. As well as the nice whip sound of the intake sucking in air. Next I did a muffler bypass. Basically the same thing as a muffler delete, but the muffler is still there so a cop wouldn’t be able to notice from looking under. It sounds very mean and it’s not obnoxious. I actually just took it on a road trip from SoCal-NorCal about 1000 miles and I didn’t notice droning at all. Flip it into eco and out of sport, it drives like a normal car. :) hope this helped someone out!

    • @Chayness
      @Chayness  3 роки тому +1

      The one thing that is required from the newer models is a tune. You won't get much benefit out of even simple mods like an exhaust without a tune as it seems the 2nd Gen doesn't accommodate for minor changes. It's almost fixed to a specific setting. The other issue is that the newer models are equipped with smaller turbos. The 1st Gen was limited with it's turbo so if you plan on getting 50 more horses, you'll need quite an aggressive tune. Even then there's a possibility you won't reach the 50 extra horses due to the smaller turbo.

    So, you said something about upgrading the AV system to Android car play. You mentioned an SD card slot. And, you mentioned the USB. Just curious...in order to upgrade, do you have to have the SD card or can you use the USB? Thanks and great video.

    • @Chayness
      @Chayness  3 роки тому

      So there's a specific media player that came equipped on the 2016+ Tech Package that had all the navigation maps on an SD card slot in the front of the player (covered by a door that looks like a button). Sadly, previous tech package units don't have this available to them. Anyway, it's no longer free but I believe you pay like $125 and you can download the update file from the MyHyundai website, you put this file on a USB flash drive, plug it into the USB port at the bottom of the center console and it will upgrade/update the media player of the 2016+ Tech Units (assuming they have the media player with the Memory Card as there were some early 2016 models that sadly didn't get the newer media player). Hope this helps.

    Question I have a 13 Veloster can I buy a 2016 2017 OEM head Unit with Nav and be able to use it like plug and play and then upload android auto and Apple CarPlay

    • @Chayness
      @Chayness  4 роки тому

      That's hard to say because I've seen some of the early media units have different plugs from the 2016+ models. There are even some EARLY 2016 models that can't get the upgrade because they barely missed the production window. I'd probably first take out your head unit and take a picture of the connectors and compare to a 2017 Navigation unit to see if it would be an easy "plug and play" situation or if you'd be stuck doing some re-wiring.

Is it related to transmission oil or sensors!!

      It's more so to make sure you have traction. I'm sure if it senses the vehicle spinning, it would attempt to adjust for braking and throttle as opposed to just the throttle for traction control.

      All my LED bulbs have held up great with the exception of one of the license plate bulbs but I do believe that was just bad luck. The signals bulbs I got were from an ebay vendor but they have worked like a charm. I chose them because they were the most affordable Canbus LED Signal bulbs I could find that didn't look cheaply made. Here's the link if you're interested: ebay.to/2XPcBw3

    • @Chayness
      @Chayness  3 роки тому +1

      That depends on preference and your wallet. Most of the exhausts are your typical "loud" type so you can go with the OG which is Magnaflow at about $600 or you can opt for a "clone" which is MBRP at about $300+ depending on metal type and other options. Mine is the Greddy unit which is super quiet and clean (only opens up when high RPM) but will run you $800. And there are other options like from Korean companies that cost even more due to design and shipping.

How long do you think the engine will last?. I’ve found some decent deals on 2013 velosters but everyone says to stay away from them
