Just bought a turbo yesterday. It’s an awesome toy. I like your mods. Probably will do a few of these. I took the magnet out of the little door in the stock air box. Made a noticeable difference.
I just got a 13 veloster turbo and I'm definitely going to get the oil catch! Also you seem like such a genuine guy and I really appreciate that. And thanks for the info in the MPG stuff too! Keep it up man!
@@Chayness I live in northern California and it gets 100-110 I was thinking about getting the k&n typhoon intake but will it get to hot for the engine and reduce performance?
@@josh7769 I know heat soak is a real thing but the small amount you'll experience compared to having much more and better air flow.... you'll see increased performance much more.
They do. The car had plenty Lasfit LED products but I had no need for new Headlight bulbs so I never installed Lasfit LED's for my main headlights. I would say however that most quality headlight LED bulbs are typically about $100. Anything cheaper is simply not bright enough.
I've honestly never heard any rattling. I'd assume something must be loose between the door and the door cover. Also, if you liked this video, tomorrow i'm releasing a 3 year review of all these mods as well. Stay tuned!
@@brianfreeman9453 I currently have only a little over 20k miles on my VT but I do plan on pulling plugs soon to check. A catch can would help GREATLY avoid deposits like this on your plugs.
Just a note, deleting the Amber reflectors can and will get you a ticket/impounded in all 50 states of the U.S. Amber reflectors are required by D.O.T.
Depends on the brand but the GFB one I last had held boost soooo much better and the car responded to it much better as well (as opposed to my TurboXS). While it's quite a bit more expensive than the TurboXS, it's worth it in my opinion. The only con is that since it holds boost better I did see a dip in my gas mileage sadly so the best I could ever get was aroun like 26MPG and that was mixed. 28MPG Freeway.
@@TheHoodedMenace_ It's a good BOV. For the price it's really nice. The GFB is almost twice the price but I personally like it better. If you can't afford a $260+ BOV the TurboXS is solid.
What about headlights ? Are they H8? I noticed you had the drl high beam but I wanted to make sure about the fog lights as well. I want to replace all of them lol. Thanks man. Appreciate the time and effort you put into this. My man just got a VT it’s stock so he’s itching to do some small mods. Intake exhaust and bulbs and flaps. That’s pretty much it. How important is the catch can and the bov? Those are two I’m on the fence about. Love your vids and your car. His is black too
BOV isn't necessary but I would HIGHLY recommend the Oil Catch Can. As for the bulbs.... for turbo models the main headlight bulb is an H11B. They make a plug and play LED kit now but I'd probably recommend a better H11 kit and just fixing the harness to work.
There are too many good brands out there that make products for the Veloster platform. It would ultimately be your preference but some that are very common are from ARK Performance and Megan Racing. There are many others as well. Make sure you also look into if springs are enough for you or if you're going to prefer full on coilovers.
They're not H7 for headlights. It's H11b and since its such a unique bulb, I only know of one kit thats plug and play but I'm not fond of the build on that kit. H7 is the High Beam and H8 is the Fog light.
how much horse power you get on these velosters turbos? I was thinking of getting a 2013 genesis coupe 2.0t but I know car insurance is more on 2 door sport cars in new york that's why.
Well I think the top rated is sitting a bit over 500HP but its gonna require more then bolt ons. I think with full bolts ons and a decent tune, 250+HP at the wheels is a happy area. I think once you pass 300HP you require more work
@@christopherriffell6182 actually my insurance told me if I get a VT or genesis coupe would be 10dollars a month cheaper then my 2011 Lancer es. Im suprised because my lancer is a sedan.
are you planning any real mods that actually improves performance. stiffer suspension, cams, enjectors, a bigger turbo, and getting it tuned afterwards. so far its just been ebay and autozone
Mine was provided by my sponsor, Endless Auto Salon. They only sell banners of their shop logo. I don't know any place that does custom banners right now, but I do no many small companies that make banners of their own logos and stuff. Let me know if you're interested in that? lol
These wheels are by a company named Helo. They're model HE894 in Satin Black. The specs are 18"x8 with a bolt pattern 5x114.3 and an offset of +38. The center bore is 72.60. Hope this helps!
Some people claim the increased air flow (which would require more fuel) causes a slight decrease in MPG but of course you have a better running/operating vehicle.
Chayness, I know you say the catchcan is great to have but does it work? Does it collect fluids with the length of hose the VT ha so have? Also how many times have you dumped it out? Lemme know bro thanks...
If you're losing fuel eco with your mods, the problem is in your foot. intakes, exhausts and blowoff valves won't affect fuel eco by themselves. I have a full cai, hot pipe, and catback and I still routinely hit the 33mpg on the highway and average 30 overall if I don't drive like an asshole.
I have this argument all the time. While I do agree with you, I don't believe the Veloster ever truly got this type of range unless you have an Auto/DCT version with ECO mode. Ive tried driving like a grandma before an the best I get is around 23-24 street and like 26 Highway.
@@Chayness yikes where do you live? my fuel eco goes down in the winter, but nothing that bad so far. The other day I averaged only 27, buts that is uncharacteristically low.
