ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How To Know If Your Dog Is Allergic To His Food
Here's the 5 common symptoms that tell you your dog is suffering with food allergies:
Number 1 is Chronic Dog Ear Infections
Ear infections in dogs are probably their most common problem and if your dogs suffering ear infections regularly, this is a strong sign of continual allergic reactions to their regular food.
Your dog can get ear mites, infections from swimming in dirty water or yeasty ear infections too, but if your dog gets ear infections regularly through the year, this is a telltale sign of food allergies.
To treat your dogs ears infection use a quality colloidal silver at 8ppm. Silver is an excellent antibiotic and much preferred over veterinary antibiotics.
Number 2 is Watery Eyes. Just like people, dogs also get watery eyes as a symptom of food allergies.
Dogs that paw at their eyes, often have a clogged tear duct or goopy discharge and this causes excess tear production. And this can be from environmental or food allergies, so try this...
Gently swab your dog's eyes with a warm, damp clean cloth at least once a day to keep the area clean. Make a small cup of chamomile tea, allow it to cool, then remove excess water from the teabag and use it pressed gently on each eye to calm the irritation.
Number 3 is Bronzing Around Your Dogs Lips. This is very noticeable in white coated breeds. You'll notice their feet, lips or skin are pink with possible inflammation. This indicates a yeast outbreak, often caused by an allergy.
Clean the area thoroughly with a 50/50 mixture of water and apple cider vinegar. You can also use apple cider vinegar as a 1/2 teaspoon added to your dog's water bowl or food to decrease acidity and prevent yeast. Avoid the veterinary products like benzoyl peroxide-based options, that cause dry skin and increase irritation.
Number 4 is Bronze, Brown or Red Nail Beds
If you look closely at the base of your dogs nails, they can appear blood red. This is showing you an inflammatory reaction as the nails should be white with a pink quick. Red, brown or that bronze look indicates a food allergy and you may notice your dog licking them.
Once again, a food elimination diet can identify the trigger food allergen.
Number 5 is Itchy Dog Skin, Red Underbelly, And a Dull Coat
If your dog has itchy skin, a red underbelly and a dull coat, these signs could signify an allergy. Any constant itching and scratching without relief can also cause hair loss over the affected areas.
The skin under your dogs hair will look pink or red, inflamed, dry and possibly flaky. Maybe you've bathed your dog with various conditioners or treated with various anti-allergy medications but there's no sign of relief.
This will mean either environmental allergies or food allergies.
Lavender and coconut oil make a powerful combination for treating itchy skin, red and inflamed skin and a dull coat. It's also great for massaging sore muscles, de-stressing your dog, treating bites and soothing arthritic joints for greater blood flow and movement.
For massaging into the affected areas as a one off, simply mix 1 drop of pure lavender oil to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, mix well and apply.

Literally you are the very first person in canine nutrition that mentioned red skin. My dog had red skin. I did a fur test even on a fresh food diet, he was intolerant to 46 foods. We got off the foods immediately, put him on probiotics (rotating them) and in 4 days life changed, but 6 wks it was phenomenal. We remain on probiotics and Colostrum. Zero kibble. I have a new dog.

@@fielmartinez4 there are fur tests to choose from. Top of the line is Nutri Scan. At the time I could not afford it. I went with 5strands raw pet food test. Just because we feed healthy doesn't mean our dog's gut is, too. Find out what your dog is intolerant to. Foods fed should vary all the time. Probiotics should be rotated, genetics plays a role, histamine foods can play a big role, where you live, age of dog, exercise, etc. Leaky Gut is my subject of study. Raw or fresh fed dog does not cure Leaky Gut, but it is the open door for better health. Immune health, itchy skin, yeast go hand in hand. The bottom line is fix the gut. Fur test, rotate soil based probiotics, use Colostrum. Quality products only. Grass fed animal proteins!! And watch these videos!! They speak truth.

Well you just helped me a lot because now from your video I can tell that my dogs do not have an allergy to their food they do not have any of the signs that you just gave me and I think that's because my vet call me to use Royal Canin especially made for Yorkies so I don't know if I should just keep them on that or risk putting them on something like farmer's dog or not

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +2

Vets make good commisions on pet food, only, what they sell is sub par. Farmers dog is sub par too.
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
No need for the vet in this case. The above is what your dog needs next for improved health.

Hey I'm fine, good to hear from you. Never heard of coral dust allergy but had a quick look, interesting.
The oregano/feet is a good idea to keep clean. Is the surface the dogs walk on sharp like diatomacous earth. Rub between your fingers, is there very fine sharp edges?
The experts are saying things like cytopoint use.
Instead of allergies they say it might be micro cuts/abrasions leading to infection but whats interesting is the runny noses, potentially from actual dust inhilation causing an allergy response.

@@MsJoselyn15 This is how it always progresses, then allergies start and we think it's from outside causes, vets think this too and treat accordingly, all the while it's from underperforming diet and or vaccine auto immune issues - happens to millions of dog owners.
Those carbs you give ie kibbles/sweet potato and others are yeast forming, acidifying and generally antinutrients for dogs. So keep carbs below 10% and focus instead on fresh foods only in the form of proteins ie meats, eggs, canned sardines and organs with some part cooked and blended veggies. Give tons of antioxidants too: amzn.to/49w0bKR
and a solid soil based probiotic with the meals:amzn.to/3yoURqU start half dose first week.
Sorry, the pet ultimates need returning as they wont help with this condition. It's not allergies, well it is, but we start at the base issue which is diet/drugs. Boost the immune system to stop the allergies.

@@MsJoselyn15 I understand your situation. This is diet related, no need for vets or vaccines!
The kibble is causing yeast issues, hence the era problems, as it has too much carbs in it for one thing. I would go the healthier kibble diet route which is the most economical and make a big health difference.
I'm sorry only ebooks: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/ to read on your phone or tablet/laptop.

hi, I have a Burna doodle who is three years old and continuously licks his front and back tires during the winter and summer months. we have changed his diet to a Costco salmon and sweet potato mix, but the problem has not stopped. also, his anal glands swell on other commercial dog food like Royal canine fiber mix and Purina sensitive stomachs. I am just looking for A solution to prevent him from licking and scratching his ears. What would you recommend for a dite?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  11 місяців тому +2

He'd be better on a fesh food diet to clear up those issues:
      here'ssome general advice:
If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      Some must do's:
Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..

It is the food! The food is full of carbohydrates and synthetics and these both cause allergies, yeast, itchy skin, hot spots, lots of scratching and feet chewing.
I have given you a direction to follow in previous comment you left me.
I recommend not using any meds, or vaxx and to follow a more natural diet approach to fix your dogs issues.
Ween off the meds and onto a more fresh food diet, then you can stop the expensive meds and put that money towards proper food.

So far I’ve discovered that my King Shepard is allergic to grains n chicken. I’ve tried giving him raw ground turkey n rice etc but a skin allergy n horrible ear infection comes n stays. Right now he’s having grain free food with salmon. So far it’s a bit better. The ear infection lasted for months n many vet visits. It was awful n I know it’s from allergies

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 роки тому +2

Yes your spot on and the cause is carbs or starches. These turn to sugar FAST, once consumed. And grain free is worse! Hence the ear infections.
      Here's what to do:
Add fresh food to the diet, get a decent kibble: video on 3 good ones: ua-cam.com/video/HdmrW_FKTp4/v-deo.html
Take out half the meals kibble and replace with eggs (raw is fine, crack and serve), canned sardines (in water), lots of veg part cooked and blended and some meat protein ie turkey.
Also treat any ear infection with silver spray: amzn.to/3gJ16i3 (5 day protocol 2x spray the ears).
And add probiotics to every meal: amzn.to/3yoURqU (only these ones).
Keep carbs like rice to an absolute minimum. Think more meat proteins and rawer the better.
Now your on the right track, see what a difference it will make fast. I don't want you (your dog too) to go through that 4 months again.

@@ladystrange4769 Yes but reduce the meal volume by 30% and then add more fresh food to replace it such as eggs, canned sardines (in water) and part boiled and blended veggies. Plus the probiotics: amzn.to/3yoURqU
