While I genuinely appreciate the sharing of this content, it would be so helpful if you could please recommend certain products to treat the problems you were discussing. Example, you were talking about detoxing the Dogs system, stating that there are many good products out there. While there may be many good products out there there are also many bad products out there, and since we aren’t veterinarians, it is hard to discern which the good ones are. Thank you

I have a Boxer going mad chewing his feet till they bleed! Scratching continuously. Cut out chicken, added youghurt fed mainly raw! He has fat intolerance as most dry food nearly 20% fat! He had just 1 mug of very good quality dry food pork and potato! But mostly raw! I ran out of his dry food (so glad I did) and fed raw just ONE DAY and ALL his scratching stopped IMMEDIATELY unbelievable!

My 12 years old husky is on Apoquil over 5 years, only in the winter months he gets a break from it. Thousands of dollar spend And it didn’t help him 100% . Lately I hear so many bad reviews about Apoquil that I got panicked so I stopped giving him the Apoquil, instead I give him turmeric and fish oil capsules every day. I also sprinkle some ground flax seeds in his food, with blueberries. I rotate the fresh cooked protein to beef pork turkey and salmon ( his favorite is chicken) and he gets 3 times a week sardines and twice a week a small amount of beef hearts and liver. I always gave probiotic with prebiotic no matter what. So far my dog is healthy thank goodness, but I truly worried 😢 I rub his skin with coconut oil and it helped him tremendously with the itching and I moved to a natural approach with quercetin , colostrum and blends of mushrooms. it seems to help him. So far so good.🙏 never Apoquil again.

I put my rescue American Bully on Hemp oil. She was covered with hives and losing her hair. Both ears were infected and bloody from her scratching. I put 2 Tablesppons on her food. She loved it. About 2 weeks on the hemp oil and her skin and ears were almost completely healed. I continued to give her 1 TBS on her food. It has not come back. Her previous owner said she had breakouts every few months, and he was spending so much money on Vet bills and the medicines they would give him. It would take months for him to see any improvement, and she'd break out again. I buy Hemp oil from Mountain Rose Herbs. It works beautifully. And it's so healthy.

Talking about bathing and soaps a few people have asked me why my dog is so soft and smells so good and commented on how clean he is and his clean ears etc... i always tell them i feed real food and thats why. I dont bathe him very often unless he got into something or I'm rinsing off salt water but I'm not using soap usually when i rinse off salt water. He does have that good doggy smell haha. He smells pretty good. Im not sure how to describe the smell I just call it the good doggy smell.
A lot of the time if I'm bathing for fleas i will use dawn dish soap I'm not sure how good or bad that is but i use it on myself in the shower too its really good at removing automotive fluids and grease. But we've taken in a lot of homeless kittys in rough shape and when they have fleas or a dog has fleas my go to is dawn soap that kills fleas really good. We have had some abandoned puppys and kittens that were horribly dirty and infested with fleas and dawn soap does a very good job. Otherwise i do have some oatmeal something dog soap for normal baths but i hardly use it.

I have some trouble with comprehension, so I might need a bit of extra help with these details. My little Yorkie is always scratching, and I’m hesitant to take him to the vet just to hear he has allergies that would require medication-I’d prefer natural options. Got her on Adored Beast, Yeasty Beast because she is suffering all over with yeast right now. At first it seemed to be working then After about 9 days, she got much worse. A rep from the company explained it's the herx reaction so I took a few days off. Started back up 3 days ago, back to ripping her skin to shreds. There is no way we can get through without the apoquel. I just pray to God the stuff is actually doing something besides making her feel worse. 😢

Thats awesome your cooking for your dog. I'm just curious why is the raw more expensive than cooking? Are you talking about pre-made raw from a company?
I cook for my dog we do whats called gently cooked at least thats what i see a lot of people calling it. My wife does raw and her diet is cheaper than mine. But we make our diets ourselves and my dog eats a lot more and i also have a lot more ingredients.
I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to dog diets I've spent a lot of time learning about it i really enjoy the subject.
No matter how you do it if you remove kibble the diet is so much better. I don't think kibble should even be an option when budgeting but even replacing some kibble for real food can go a long ways. A real food diet can be done on a budget. I enjoy hearing what other people have come up with in their budget when they do homemade food and I've seen some small budgets.
My wifes dog also struggles with allergies but its been on raw its whole life the only time an allergy comes up is if it gets into another dogs kibble or something like that. My wifes dog is just over 10 years old, my mom also has a dog from the same litter. My mom's dog has been on kibble its whole life while my wifes dog is on raw and the differences are very noticeable. My moms dog has had so many skin issues and vet visits and problems with various kibbles. The differences are very noticeable especially in the last few years I'm constantly trying to get my mom to take her dogs off kibble its hard to make some people understand that it really is that bad especially when they feed a kibble they think is expensive or high end.

@@judymckinney7984 it is my understanding that when preparing raw you have more risk than your dog. The dogs immune system is much stronger and from what I've read it's not a problem for dogs it's so incredibly rare. We have a 10 year old dog that has eaten raw grocery store chicken most of its life with no issue and that is known for salmonella. I also know other people who have done it much longer. Definitely do research and make sure your comfortable with whatever you choose to do but from our experience I'm pretty comfortable with it. On the other hand I'm a little iffy on raw pork even though I've heard from pig farmers and other sources that they have gotten rid of trichinella and stuff. But pork really isn't the greatest meat to use a person has to be careful what cuts and when I use pork I cook it. I do a gently cooked for my lab and my wife does raw for her dog. It's about preference. In my opinion raw is a little easier
It's a little overwhelming first getting into making homemade diets. You can use supplements to balance it that way or make it complete. My diet I do is complete but I also do a carna4 sprouted seeds supplement on one meal just a small amount not a full dose. What I did not to get overwhelmed is I made a list of ingredients then I researched a ratio like 50 percent protein 30 percent carb 20 percent fruit and veggies for example. You'll find different ratio recommendations all over id suggest looking into breed specific then adjusting yourself for your dog as time goes on. But you can make meals from your list according to your ratio. Then I think the last thing to get into is looking at vitamin and mineral needs and comparing that to the list of foods you came up with and seeing what food you get that stuff from or what to add. One thing I did when I had a hard time was googled which foods have a specific mineral like manganese for example and you'll find mussels are very high in that and other shell fish and I think fur if you feed something with fur but you can find food that way and then research if it's safe for dogs and add it to your list. Beef organs are a good cheap healthy source of vitamins and minerals. I would suggest looking through multiple sources and recipes because I've found conflicting information and sometimes the recommendations you'll find online are for a kibble fed dog and that isn't the same. I know it sounds difficult but I promise it's not it just takes a little time and this is just how I did it you may find a different way. Also it's not an absolute precise thing the dog can skip things now and then and I eyeball my portions and ratio. I also have a list on my fridge as a reminder and I also have a Master list of ingredients to check against which makes it easier for shopping my memory sucks.

There is something in chicken that causes inflammation and skin rashes. Most dog are allergic to cjicken. If you have a dog with skin issues stop giving your dog anything with chicken and in a week you will see your dog is healing and feeling a lot better.

But I make Dr. Judy's Heart Health Support dog food because he has significant heart valve disease and a stage 6 murmur. While my dog loves the homemade dog food, the medication for the heart disease makes him not care about eating. So I started boiling boneless skinless chicken thighs and breasts and diceit up for him. I'm giong to top the chicken and see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.
