Ambient music:
As a genre, ambient focuses on creating a mood or atmosphere through synthesizers and timbral qualities. It often lacks the presence of any net composition, beat, or structured melody. Due to its relatively open style, ambient music often takes influences from many other genres, ranging from house, dub, industrial and new age, amongst several others. Since it is a relatively ambiguous term, ambient has no distinct characteristics, and its style can vary a great deal. In essence, it is a term to describe any form of electronic music which puts an emphasis on tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm. Ambient music is often highly conceptual and experimental in style, while it is said to evoke an "atmospheric", "visual" or "unobtrusive" quality.
Space music:
Space music, also called spacemusic, is an umbrella term, synonymous with a segment of New Age Music and Ambient Music. It has also been associated with preceding styles of relaxing music such as lounge music, easy-listening, and elevator music... space music can evoke a "continuum of spatial imagery and emotion,"which can be beneficial for introspection, and for developing, through a practice of deep listening, an awareness of the spatiality of sound phenomenon. This type of psychonautic listening can produce a subtle trance-like state in certain individuals which can in turn lead to sensations of flying, floating, cruising, gliding, or hovering... space music is used by some individuals for both background enhancement and foreground listening, often with headphones, to enable states of relaxation, contemplation, inspiration, and generally peaceful expansive moods; it may promote health through relaxation, atmospherics for bodywork therapies, and effectiveness of meditation. Space music appears in many film soundtracks and is commonly played in planetariums.

It makes Roland and Korg think very deeply!
Your videos really need to begin with a warning to the viewer: "May cause involuntary synthesizer purchases!"
Hah... GAS is a real problem these days! :)
Behringer is like the cheap crack cocaine dealer amongst all the GAS junkies.
I was just about to write: this guys gonna sell some deepminds lol
makes me realize that I really dont need a modular system. Thanks....saved me a lot of money!
No problem ;)
All what I love in synth musics... Very good demo !
Can’t wait to try this out...on my DM12. Nice!
Sounds great.
Beautiful! The sounds are so 3-D! I love it!!!!!!!
Awesome, thanks for taking a moment to listen and your positive feedback!
I've had my DM12 for a year and a half and never knew it could do this. It's on me since I've spent most of that time exploring my Rev2-16 and Omnisphere ambient pads. Now I have to give her some special lovin' attention that she deserves.
DM12 can do many things, I find it really excels in ambient domain thanks to the versatile effects, routings and mod matrix.
Ohhh, this is a great addition to your setup! Sounds great!
Thanks, I agree.. DM12 is not to be underestimated! :)
Amazing sound and a great feel of a real synth I've not seen in a long while, a great job you have done,👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Steven, happy you enjoyed the music and demo!
Ależ to dobre! Kurka wodna.
Amazing performance!!! And I really like how this synth breathes !
Thank you! It does sound great.
The DP12 is too underestimated in my opinion, certainly because it carries the Behringer brand which is not a "big name" in the world of synthesizers.
But even though I own Moog, Sequential Circuit and modulars using famous modules, I love my DP12! This synth is really amazing in sound richness.
Maybe it's time to consider Behringer as a "big name" in the world of synthesizers...
This synth is amazing! And so you
Thank you very much Pedro! :)
Great job man!! This one evokes a very happy feelin'. I can just about hear what a Spanish guitar with analog delay and modulated reverb would sound like with this and I'm gonna try that out. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I agree this has a very light feel to it... almost reminds me of a video game soundtrack!
Great impro!
Lovely stuff! Really looking forward to your V-Synth videos in the future. That thing needs better demos to show the crazy stuff it can do.
Yep, it's in the pipeline... :)
awesome, can't wait!
Bloody lovely, I have the DM12 but can't get it to sing like this yet. Very inspirational stuff. Thanks dude
Thank you, there's a lot you can do with DM12! Effects were an integral part of this piece.
Putting the Deep, in a Deep Mind 12. Great jam. Behringer DM12 is Definitely on my hw acquisition list for the near future.
Thanks. :) There's lots to explore with the DM12 so if you enjoy its sound and effects, I think you will like it.
Beautiful Soundscape-- would love to listen to a whole album of this stuff!
Thanks Martin -- you can check out my music at synth4ever.bandcamp.com
@@synth4ever Hi mate, is the preset called Fairy Tales?...Bank C?
@@maydaygoingdown5602 I believe so, Faery Steps or Fairy Tales, can't recall
@@synth4ever Oh do you not have the synth anymore? I'm thinking of purchasing it myself, did you sell yours or do you still have it?
Beautiful
Thx, appreciate the kind words.
This is a very wonderful sound demo.
Thanks very much! :)
Thank you for taking some time to listen and your comment, I appreciate it.
Nice
Hammer!
Wonderful
Thanks.
Nice lofi vibes 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you. :)
Vraiment très cool ce synthé 😀
Merci!
Nice! :)
Thanks! :)
That is, the Deep Mind is good for: just thin, smooth and far away sounds .. The filter reminds me a bit in MS20. Creative musician - respect. He knows how to handle this synth: just for smooth and distant sounds .. ;)
Hah... thanks ;)
Nice sound .... greetings
Thanks!
Nice:-)
I get mine today!! YES!!
Awesome, congrats! Enjoy it. :)
Now I am a deepmind user! This is truly deep ... Thanks for your demos, they pushed for this decision))
Thanks, happy to help. :) Enjoy the DM12!
@@synth4ever Yep!
@@synth4ever Hello my freind, are the same presets available in the deepmind 6?
Is this a preset you are using?
@@maydaygoingdown5602 This is a modified preset and I believe the DM6 and DM12 share the same presets, I don't see why they wouldn't.
@@synth4ever Thanks for the reply my friend, I was going to purchase the Deepmind 12 today but sadly in the UK there are none in stock at retailers.
Looks like I'm going to have to get some patience and order one but God knows how long that will be...Sigh!!.
I decided on the 12 due to another comment you said to someone else about the notes may get cut off on the 6 when doing long sustained patches etc...which is a very valid and important piont.
Cheers.
You've got magic fingers!!!
Nice.
Thanks for listening!
I'm in spaaaaace!
This is gorgeous. I see those two poly-evolver racks you got hiding there. I like you, and I like what you stand for, tbh.
Thanks very much I appreciate the kind words. The Poly Evolvers continue to stand guard in a different location at moment. :)
There is a huge stereo field in your patch. Is there the option to pan individual oscillators? Or is there that modulation of "panning". Or is the stereo field coming from effects like ping pong delay? Finest sound design I have heard yet for this synth on UA-cam, congratulations!
Thanks! Pretty sure the stereo width is from ping pong delay in this patch.
Hey man! Lovely demo! Are you using the built-in reverb? If not, which one do you use for your demos? (This one included of course)
Thank you sir!
Thanks. Yes this used all DM12 effects! On other demos, if the synth doesn't have reverb I usually use Strymon Big Sky or Eventide SPACE reverb pedals.
synth4ever sweet man! Keep up the good work! :)
Nice. Forgive my ignorance but did i just listen to that beautiful piece without you once hitting a key ? ;) Thanks for sharing.
Yes, you did. I used the DM12's internal arpeggiator to loop a pattern and then improvise with it using the synth's controls.
Ally Taylor nj
I do this with some virtual synths within FLStudio...good fun!
and that is why I'm buying one. Just for pads and ambiant soundscapes. so much patch making potential.
....and the Evolvers look on enviously.
:)
Fucking awesome man! I want one
Thanks Igor! DM12 is readily available new or used, check it out!
If you own a Behringer DeepMind 12 or 6 I re-created the original factory presets of a Juno-106 that you can load into it!
Here's the link to a video where you can hear them and the download link is in the bio!
ua-cam.com/video/kLCo1tTiVjc/v-deo.html
damn GAS active again...
:) See if you can find a good deal... they are out there!
Always cool ambiant jams.. what's ur all time fav synth for experimental /ambiant stuff ?
Thanks... Deepmind 12's effects and mod matrix make it great for ambient. Waldorf XT is also amazing for twisting and morphing sounds. I've also heard the DSI Prophet 12 is one of best synths for sound design... so I'd say all 3 of those synths rank very highly.
synth4ever i have a microwave xt 😊
Nice... then you know how capable it is at creating new alien sonic landscapes. :)
synth4ever yes, i have also blofeld which is even more powerful and versatile.. really underated synth.. this thing is capable of so wonderful pads
BRIAN BURGER blofeld interface is not so good.
is this triggered by arpeggio mode?..very soothing sequance.luv it
Thanks and yes, this is using DM12 arpeggiator.
beautiful! i am tempted to buy this behringer. is it true that it depends on a computer, tablet or other external device to be able to sound the effects and the sequencer? if not, is it easy to make and save effects and programs made with the sequencer? can i record grooves or phrases on a loop in deepmind?
You don't need a computer to play the synth, it has keys and also its own arpeggiator built in. You can create sounds and adjust effects parameters and they all get saved in a patch (including arp pattern). The arpeggiator can be looped.
@@synth4ever Maybe the software helps to program the sequencer and choose effects more easily, but it is really nonsense that the sequencer and effects would need to have an external device. One thing I like about the DM is that it has an octave more than the vast majority of 3-octave analog virtals on the market for the price. As well as having standard 5-pin midi connections to control a rack of modulations like the Behringer clones. But if it was at least bitimbral it would be perfect. Thank you very much!
Is this a patch you created? It is wonderful. How do you get the DM12 to produce the notes... fascinating.
Thanks, it's a heavily modified preset.
I am a begineer as just got myself deepmind 6 as my first poly synth. The settings is too overwhelmed for me. Can you do a step by step setting tutorial how you achieve this sound?
A lot of what you hear was achieved using effects, particularly stereo delay. I would suggest experimenting with the DM12's effects as you can stack up to 4 at once. At some point I'll aim to do a tutorial, but in meantime I'd suggest watching Geosynths sound design tutorials on DM12 as he covers it in great detail.
How many voices did you need for this? Can you achieve the same sound with a Deepmind 6?
You could probably achieve similar on DM6 but some of the long sustains may get cut off due to note stealing.
How can we find the patch you use for this song? Its magnificent!
It was a preset that I modified. I think it was called Fairy Steps or Faery Steps in bank G or H.
🌎🌎🌎пётр рядом, спасибо Вам
Все ощущают твое присутствие...
Have you found the need to turn down the speed of the internal fans? I've heard they can be a bit intrusive.
The fans are quiet to me... haven't had to turn them down at all.
@@synth4ever Good news, thanks
Is it just a DM preset? Or is another synthesizer mixed in? And what preset is it? Very nice. Thanks.
Hi, this is just the Deepmind 12, its a modified preset called "Fairy Steps" I believe. Glad you enjoyed it.
If Vangelis and Jarre had a son, his first piece would be this one.
Thank you, that's quite the compliment!
Great piece, again ! Do you consider selling your own DM12 Sound Bank ?
Yes, if I ever make a custom DM12 sound bank.
Great video. But the question is, should I sell my Access Virus C to fund a Deepmind 12?
Tough call. One is digital and one is analog... depends on the type of sound you're after I guess. DM12's effects are fantastic but Virus C is no slouch either.
hahaha Behringer haters go crazy
Definitely not. Keep the Virus C and get a Deepmind12 also. The Virus C is very nice.
Nice ambient sequencer, but does it play well using the keys?
Yes, it does play nicely with the keys too.
are these sounds through internal FX?
Yes, all effects are Deepmind 12 internal FX.
I don't understand why the higher notes sound noisier with higher frequency?
🎹🎹🎹Небесный пастух пасёт облаки
How good is the built in quality of this synth? Are you still using it?
It's pretty good for the price. Yes I still have my DM12.
How many ambient patches are built in within the factory presets?
This was a modified preset. I believe there are 1024 factory presets on the synth (8x banks of 128 patches each).
Is this just the DM with nothing else? Nothing but the synth live? I know the onboard FX are pretty good but this sounds like summat else is going on - Nothing external? If so I want one now. x
This is 100% DM12, no external effects/processing, live in one take.
@@synth4ever I ended up getting one. Wow!!
@@karloschaos Congrats!
Hi. Are you using the stock sounds out of deepmind?
Yes, it was a preset that I modified.
Ah interesting you have bought a Deepmind......sounds like it can do lots and has nice reverb
Indeed I did acquire a DM12... couldn't resist at the price it came at and capabilities of the machine. Fantastic effects, best I've heard on any synth yet.
Behringer DEEPMIND 12 vs Roland JD800... Which synthesizer impresses you more? Your opinion is very important to me.
Depends in what way. Sound, modulation capablities, effects? One is fully analog and other is fully digital and therefore inherently different sonically. I will say DM12 has amazing effects and modulation capabilities, but JD-800 gives you a lot of hands on control and ability to layer 4 patches at once. How are you looking to use the synths?
@@synth4ever Thanks for the answer. I use synthesizers to create sound textures.
YESSSSSSA MY FRIEND......I LOVE,I LIKE, I......IWISH PLAY WITH YOU
Thank you Igor!
is this a preset? I just got my deepmind and I would love to mess around with that sound..
I didn't save the patch but it was from a modified preset, I believe Bank G or H, #97 (Fairy Steps). For effects, signal routing was M4 (all parallel).
Effects order:
1. Delay (in either Stereo or X-MOD setting)
2. Mood Filter
3. Phaser
4. TC Deepverb
Hope that helps.
synth4ever Thank you
is this patch downloadable sommewhere ?
No, but its a modified preset... I believe Bank G or H, #97 (Fairy Steps).
😆 заебись
No te lo acabas en 2 meses..y luego empieza con el matrix modulation..otros 4 meses..
Muy gordo el DM
Buena Demo!
No external effects ..right?
Correct, no external effects. 100% DM12.
