Awesome video...thanks for that tutorial. I thought my seats were broken. I nearly torn a bicep muscle pulling up the back strap, thinking that's how you fold down the seat lol...good one Dodge, good one!
Thanks for the video. I did my 2015 Laramie yesterday after watching this video. If you have a split rear seat you get to repeat this twice, once for each side.
Love this, thank you! I have a Lexus car, the rear seats are stationary, however I'd like them to fold down so as I can move large things and not being able to do so is frustrating af! I'm gonna check it the rear seats and see what i can do 🤔
Net audio makes 1 1/2 spacers for both bench and split seat. You can pull back rest down without cutting the locking hooks, and you also get an extra 1.5 inch clearance on the bottom of the seat.
Perfect video i just picked up a 2020 5th Gen and same issue if you dont have the seats that recline they are fixed to the back ima do this tommorow so i can first get some seat cover actually installed on there and then ill have that space to use tyvm for this video.
For some reason the square part of the hook @ 1:15 broke when I put mine back together, but its not needed. Only the plastic under the hook is. That's what latches around the square latch. Anyways, great mod! Took 20min.
My nissan frontier rear seat does this. I just bought a 2018 Ram and been trying to figure out why I can't get the seat back to tilt forward like the nissan. Thanks. Now I know how it is fastened to the truck so I can change it. Thanks.
I had a 2016 nissan frontier sv 4x4 and got into a ram what a difference in space and a smooth ride and with the 5.7 is basically the same gas mileage but you get a full size truck with 300+ hp
@@FirstnameLastname-vy2dg yes! I am getting 20-21mpg most of the time in my Ram and it is absolutely amazing how much power this truck has when you get on the gas pedal! My only hang up with this truck is how the AndroidAuto only works when it wants to and the built in "Alexa" button on the steering wheel dials the wrong number everytime with certain names in your contacts especially the contact named "Dad". I learned if you (long press) the Alexa button it will use google assistant instead of alexa and it recognizes your voice much better

Outstanding. Update, didn’t see that this does not cover the 2011. Cut the tabs, no workee. Shimmed up the whole seat 3/4 to see if it would work. Nope.
Better to shim the seat up11/16 then you can raise the seat 45* and then the back will come down. I did this on my 2012. Do not cut the back, that will be a very bad idea. The seats have to be able hook on the metal catches fully. If you have a crash they will not come loose. To put them back up reverse the process.
Tried this on my 2016 Ram with 40/60 split rear bench. First of all, instead of 4 bolts to take out you have 8. Cut of the hook just as shown & put everything back together. Didn't work. I'm sure it will work on a solid bench seat but not a spit.
Just did this on my 2017 ram. You have to watch the plastic rub guard things if they tilt forward it won’t latch. I had to tap them back into place for it to lock in.

The top part of the seat doesn't come down unless you pull down on it. I can pick up the bottom part by itself
Ya but does it stay up?
I believe is the question
Does not work on all did exactly what was in video didnt work for me
Just a thought as my kids sit back there. In a crash, do you think there is a risk of the seat falling forward? .
No probably not. It's still being held by over an inch. You have to bring the bottom of the seat up flush with the back to get it to fold over
Yes there def is this is why I would NOT do this. If the impact is great enough everything that can move WILL! Your kids are priceless!
