I am a junior in high school.
In the 7th grade, I’ve had this issue but with my stomach making noises. It would just make noises during class, and the prospect of it making noises made me stressed out/self aware, leading to a positive feedback loop of more noises and more anxiety.
During the pandemic, evidently, this issue went away. During my sophomore year, which is the year we went in-person, I was a whole new person: I had goals, ambition, drive, and passion toward my future. I excelled, was socially and mentally stable, and was on top of it. No stomach issues, nothing. However, I hit a depressive episode. And it occurred again. I was over the top self-conscious, and it caused me so much anxiety and stress that my hormones went crazy: I got severe breakouts and my face swelled, causing my mom to freak out and bring me to the doctors.
Junior year, until like a couple months ago, was fine. I did have this urge to poop a lot during school, but it was something j could manage. Now, it’s also manageable, but I’m just sick of it. I want to be mentally stable and happy. I want to just not have to go to the restroom when I’m nervous. But I’m realizing the root of it is this: the social environment. Obviously, I won’t have this issue when I’m by myself. But with a lot of people, and with an introspective personality, I can internalize a lot of things and just become socially anxious, although I’m not a socially anxious person.
What I’m trying to say is that these issues are caused by an underlying issue: not your actual body/physical health. It’s probably social anxiousness/fear of future/fear of getting judged. The thing is, you have to overcome this. You can not let these things ruin your life. You have only ONE LIFE to live. You have to unleash your potentials and make the most of it. The solution is to find a DRIVE, PASSION, GOALS. Make it overfill your mind and BECOME YOUR IDENTITY. Focus on those these goals and habits. Then, you will have no room to care about being nervous/issue with pooping. Once you snap out if it, you’ll realize how trivial everything is and how unhealthy it is to be anxious about something like this.
Also things to help you:
-> Exercise DAILY
--> Do something everyday that makes you feel pumped and excited (like the feeling of skiing). This can be playing basketball with your friends, running, etc.
-> Be yourself. If you are worried and consumed about the prospect of how people will view you for going to the restroom/stomach making noises, think about how it would be nice for you to simply be yourself, confident, outgoing, and friendly so that anything you do isn’t perceived as embarrassing.
-> At least know that when you become an old adult, you won’t be dealing with these issues because you realize that nothing is worse being anxious over

Whenever I go to school I have an urgent to poop and there isn't a good toilet in my school so am worried what if a situation like that comes by thinking this over and over and overthinking I do one the feeling to poop
I work as a RN and before the start of each of my shifts, I get nervous and anxious not knowing how my day is going to be like and how my patients are going to respond to the care that I provide to them. These feelings always makes me have to go poop.
I work in law enforcement and have the exact same thing. It’s getting worse and worse and has suddenly become more regular for me. I haven’t got a clue how to manage it. I always find it aggravating when people suggest I “relax”. Doing one of the most stressful jobs, that isn’t easy 😞😞😞
@@miniconsrus i use an imodium daily and a medication called Bentyl - generic dicyclomine. Was prescribed by my gastro MD. It will stop the urges

Immodium daily early morning before my coffee. I take generic imodium / simethicone ( loperamide/simethicone. Bentyl one hour before meal but sometime at the same time than imodium and i am good to go for most of the day. Bentyl will prevent you from peeing all the time if you are nervous like i am. It slows down #2 as well. Bentyl is an anticholinergic. Google that word. Best!

Im autistic and I’ve been homeschooled online and I’ve now started college for a place to help autistic kids, I really struggled though as… I’m not gonna lie… I really had bad nerves even though I felt good in myself, I needed up needing to go so bad that I did and I had diahreah, the next time I went to college, I went straight away when I felt it and it was normal, what im saying is.. this guy is right and I wanna thank him for helping me today for tomorrow when I go to college and eventually I won’t be nervous anymore , someone’s comment also helped, he said at the end “when your grownup and older you will think back and say there was nothing worth feeling anxious over”

I wish I had more friends with this same problem, it's horrible to feel like a shitty freak because no one else wants to shit when they're having a very exciting episode, or just nervous and stuff.
Unfortunately, all my life I have spent at home, I have no friends, I have had a not very healthy diet and definitely every time I have a meeting in which my nervous system is activated, I feel like shitting.
Before that, I also have to say that I have suffered from phagophobia (the fear of swallowing when you are eating food) it has been hell for me, and I am very ashamed to admit it.
I feel very alone, I would like to get over this but I want to get over it with a group of people who have the same problem.
You can't leave the house calm and laugh in the streets and run or want to jump and do extreme things because the stomach becomes unbalanced.
I need help, this is not easy as maybe you can believe to just say to ppl relax and there, you need therapy and more advises to overcome this.

Trust me, you're definitely not alone. And many people definitely are also trying to find the solution to this. I heard hypnotherapy can be one option that helps. A healthier diet would be a start as that is what I am doing now. I know that for me, if I am distracted and have my focus on other things and not thinking I need to go to the bathroom that works sometime. Mind over body. Traveling is the biggest anxiety for me personally and which triggers that feeling. I tried to think about something else or play a video game on my phone, listen to music, or read a book or article. Those help a bit. I usually drink less liquid on the day that I know I have to travel. Or eat less food and no food that would easily trigger any gut issues. Like don't eat greasy, oily, fatty or fiber rich food. Don't give up. Keep digging. Eventually, we'll find the ultimate solution and get better. There are way worst conditions people have to go thru physically. Again you're not alone. Keep hope alive.✌️
@@reTUNE8 This message was very encouraging, thank you very much, I tell you that I've started to go out every Sunday to getting my body used to losing fear of these events, but for example today I went to the bank and my mistake was having coffee because I started to having these symptoms of wanting to go to the bathroom, but I knew how to handle it!

@gabrielleq glad to hear you're not giving up. I think for a lot of us, it is more mental. But it definitely helps to limit trigger food when we know we are outside of our comfort zone until we get rid of that anxiety. Yes, it's easier said than done, lol. I think one observation is when certain food we eat that you think it gives you trouble, ask yourself if that same food will give you trouble if you are consuming it at home so you can definitely tell your mind is causing more of your problems. I wish I had this all figured out. I am hopeful I will eventually and same goes to you. Please feel free to dm me. I know this is not something other people understand unless you have it. Definitely not a well-known condition. I do not wish anyone to have this condition. It definitely is a lifestyle change in the worst way. Sometime I am even afraid to talk about this condition with others and think it could end up putting a seed in their mind and causing someone with this problem. Hey, I am sorry you have to go through this❤ is very hard and many people are fast to just emotionally invalidate, is awful especially some medical doctors. I started to have the same problem just today and it triggered my health anxiety again, from when I had an esophageal injury 2 years ago and I am afraid I have some internal bleeding ulcer or something again. May I ask you what is triggering your phagophobia? Is there any experience you suffered in the past that triggered this in you? This phobia may also be the root of the toilet problem you have right now. Maybe you also associate eating with an traumatic event. While myself I started to associate work with stress and it brings more stress on my body so..yeah;)

@@RelatableRelations As a sufferer myself it becomes a big deal if you don’t have access to a restroom and believe me when i have to go i have to go. I can go from normal to major diarrhea in five minutes so that’s why it’s stressful. It’s not really about going it’s about having access to a restroom…….the fear is what if…………

@@mrbatdance yes, tried it before at 15 or 20 mg and also altered my diet to some extent but still have the same issue.

@@mrbatdance maybe. But I was on it for like a year until doctor took me off them. I wasn't too keen to take them anyway, as I've seen what they have done people who I know or live amongst and it isn't something I'd recommend, but each to their own. Now I just take Mirtazapine to help with my sleep.

I have chronic constipation, but when I have a nervous episode , I have great bowel movement. Why can’t we design a drug to do the same thing ? By the way contractions are greater, but goblet cells are also stimulated to increase a more viscous mucus.

@@radhakrishnanj1083 hey man the best I can say from what docs told me was try to eat healthy or check if certain food make you feel bad like gluten or dairy cause that dose play a big part and from personal advise I tend to listen to podcast or music to keep ur mind busy from the noises cause the more you stress over it the more it will occurs this from what I have gathers to help me and if what you say is the exact same as what I have as well hope this help

@@bb-sy9xx i am 60 and i had this for the last 25 years. I had it as a kid but not as bad. You just have to learn how to live with it. I use imodium 2 hours before i have to go out to a stressfull situation
