You and I have a lot in common. As a brand new pilot I bought my Scout factory R 2 years ago. I have 188 hours on it and planned on getting the EFI but reconsidered. Today I ordered the Quattro. I’m sooo excited!!! It sounds AMAZING
I can understand the linear nature of a four stroke, but I can't quite understand the quiet claim. I remember when four stroke motocross dirtbikes took over in the 2000's. Tracks were shut down because of the extra noise. Some of those bikes crushed 120 decibels like it was nothing. I know this isn't a 1:1 comparison, but single cylinder four strokes that make power also tend to make a lot of noise. I love the idea of a four stroke. I'd REALLY like to see an objective study of the noise of the Moster vs the Quattro. Stoked to see you are happy with it! If it's really more quiet, I'd be onboard too. Thanks for taking time to create the video! You have a new sub.
Perhaps not so much a case of decibels but more the tone and frequency? The Quattro sounds deeper, smoother, more midrange than the higher end of the 2 stroke. Proud to say I designed the Quattro logo.
also, looking to do this same setup at 140cm with a 3-blade. Have you done a static thrust measurement? All the Eos documentation is based on a 130cm 2-blade, but I think this actually has more torque than a moster, and they aren't taking advantage of that with a 2-blade. It's probably making a good 15-20kg more thrust with a 3-blade 140cm.
For me the 3-blade made less power trying it at 2500 feet and 4700 feet. The 2-blade 140 on this machine is KING for me! The 140 2-blade made about 84kg static thrust. Boise Paramotors has a static thrust test on their facebook page with the 140 2-blade.
I'm thinking about getting into paramotoring. I'm really eyeballing the openppg. You'll never see me in an electric car but for paramotoring it makes sense.
I drive a 4xe Jeep and love it. I won't currently own an electric paramotor. I can only fly it for just over 20 minutes. It doesn't come close to an hour for me. In addition, it weighs a ton all the time. It's like taking off with 18 liters of fuel and then landing with it instead of burning it off. It would be interesting to see if your opinion changes after training.
You mentioned that the horsepower is about the same (26 vs 25) and the 4 stroke weighs more. What are the benefits of having a 4 stroke over a 2 stroke?
@@NomadHatch two strokes like the moster don't really lend themselves well to forced induction. Because all the air flows through the crankcase before entering the piston cylinder, there's no real benefit to boosting air pressure, as on the downstroke after combustion the piston would have to fight against the high pressure in the crankcase. If you had a two-stroke with separate oil system for the crankcase that didn't rely on lubricating it with an oil-fuel mixture then it probably would work, and I think that's how Honda does it with their two-stroke dirt bikes that are turboed.
when are people going to learn that 4 stroke isnt ever going to cut it on ppg heavier, less power, and boy wait till it burns up the valves because the valve train is so slightly built to save weight its going to cost you a packet . The vid shows the superior performance of the efi two stroke , leave the 4 strokes in mowers and water pumps.
I'm cool with trying the 4-stroke. No problem at all. If I blow it up, I guess I'll fly my Factory R, but so far it works awesome. I'm not scarred to try it, but I respect your opinion.

@@fbrummitt awesome! I love my Factory R, but the Quattro is the best cross-country cruiser I’ve flown to date.

Thanks, real food for thought
No problem!
Great video. I'm glad there's competition for the swiss auto 250. How is oil pressure generated for this motor? I appreciate the reply.
Mechanical oil pump that provides constant oil pressure regardless of oil temperature or engine speed. Not sure how it works.
I just talked to Roland at EOS. He said the oil pump is gear driven for longevity.
You know what would make that sound even better? A 3 blade Helix prop.
Does the quattro have a clutch so the prop is stationary at idle?
@@RA-gk5zg yes it does.

That's awesome! I think it's also because the pipe is pointed in the air away from the ground, so it's really quiet to people on the ground.
How does fuel consumption compare to the Moster 185 EFI?
I've never flown an EFI yet. When I do I will report my findings. Thanks!
Finally! i honestly thought this project was dead and was thinking about getting a polini 202 with a smart carb next year, but this changes things
So far I really like it!
@@trentwhitney8346 i can't find any details on the price so far. Would you happen to know?
$4,000 - $4500 depending on your starter option.
@@trentwhitney8346 thanks mate, thought as much. I wonder what the prices will be at europe or when it's going to hit the market
You might reach out to EOS in Austria. They would probably hook you up with a dealer or importer now.@@apsestasis
This exhaust is sportive. The manufacture should to make it as standart noise.

It felt the same with a 3-blade flying it. It just lost rpm. With a 2-blade 140cm propeller it made 84kg.

Yes they do!
Is there any altitude compensation built in the carb? How high before you need to rejet the carb?
Mine ran fine with the sea-level 135 jet, but I wasn't getting all of the rpms possible. I am running a 125 now and I've flown up to about 9,000 feet.
@@trentwhitney8346 Wow that sounds great. What altitude are you taking off from? Nevermind I saw it in the description.
I generally take off from between 2500 and 6500 feet above sea level. Most of the time I'm at 4700.@@RA-gk5zg

@@trentwhitney8346 i am currently developing. real hour flight time by having less weight.
How was the torque on the Eos Quattro comparable to the 185 vittoroz ? Thanks
Believe it or not, the EOS is more torquey than my 185 Factory R. It winds up really quick!

@@trentwhitney8346 ---For Sure...
Awesome review bro!!
Thanks!
bro, how much fuel it will consume in 1 hour flight?
It depends on the altitude. Where I’m at 4700 feet I consume 3.3-3.8L an hour. At sea level some people are burning 2.2-2.8L an hour
What's the highest maintained height yall have done ?
I’ve only flown up to about 7,000, but it seems just like my first Moster 185 which I took up to 12,000.

How's fuel consumption?
I will make a video hopefully this week to see. Stay tuned!
Much-Much Better--The European 250 cc 4-stroke with fuel injected engine on a Trike can fly over 5 hours on a 5 gal tank of gas...
@@randybeard6040 What European EFI 4 stroke are you referring too?
Four Stroke Engines--More Reliable, no Fowled Plugs, much better Gas Mileage especially if mounted on a Trike, could be heavier to carry on back...

34.28 KG
