    Thanks for the update on the EOS and also letting us know it was a pre-production model. Mine is a production model but still gives me some areas to keep an eye on once I'm able to get in the air (work and weather and preventing me finishing my training). Great video's as usual. Keep them coming.

      Isn't pcv usually vented back through the intake? Gassed fuel, oil and so forth.

    Thanks for making this video. It's good to hear that EOS and Boise Paramotor have been good to work with. It sounds like this is going to be a great motor for us bigger pilots. Also, that Rotax 503 should be reliable. They built those for a long time.

    Thanks for the video Trent. I appreciate all the info on the EOS motor. I'm hoping things continue to go well. I would like to get a 4 stroke eventually, keep your progress coming. Thanks again!

    Thank you for this comparison, I appreciated your mentality: "if I want to fly, I have to do mechanics" on all engines it is a reality but having had one of the first EOS 150 with a lot of problems... I think that this brand should hold back its production even longer... Although I am rather a fan of the 4-stroke, the vibrations could affect its reliability. In any case, happy to follow you and good luck. (this is a translation from French)

    Im not a big EOS fan, and I would still like them to succeed and make a good product. Basically any PPG engine maker, we all win when they continue to improve and compete with each other. Its a tough business, because the majority of us are value oriented and all these engines reflect this.

    Great information. I'm not nearly as mechanically skilled as you, so I hope for no problems that I can't at least diagnose. Some video of changing jets or checking valves would be great when you do that maintenance.

    Thx for being that open and clear. Just got mine some days ago. Just one flight done due to bad weather at this time in my region. With regard to the Carb overflow tube. From my point of view it doesn´t make sense to route it above the Carb and then back down. Because when the Carb will overflow, it will not drain by itself! You may change that and route it being under the Carb to ensure being drained in case of. I think it was good that you mentioned, that you had a pre-prod engine. Mine is havong now all the improvements on it. And I´ll take your two recommendations to "tighten" the oil cooler and add a tube to Crankcase valve down to the bottom. I´ll keep in mind the leaks you had.... I´ll have a look on mine how it looks like. May you give me your cruise RPM and the prop (pitch/diamieter) you are using. Hope we will have good times with that engine! Thx Trent!

      Good idea! I will re-route the carb drain. I honestly didn’t think about that. The prop is a J66L Red 3.5. 140cm. 5400rpm BGD Epic2, 6000 rpm BGD Luna2

    Thanks, Trant! Data on fuel consumption and engine RPM levels on different wings is very useful. Cruise flight on the EPIC 2 is indeed more comfortable but more slow.

      @@reinerressel975 Ohhhh, yeah sorry! I'm at high elevation, so we are definitely leaning these things up to get every bit of power out of them. I just bought a new Factory R, and it doesn't even make the power of a regular Moster at sea level at my elevation (4700 feet). So we are always playing with the carburation to get a golden brown plug.

    Trent, great update. I'm looking to upgrade my engine. Is the Quattro mature enough to warrant the price premium over a comparable 2-stoke?

    • @trentwhitney8346
      @trentwhitney8346  4 місяці тому

      I think there are enough out there that if people were having tons of serious issues it would be reported. I think overall people are liking the Quattro so far, but I can truly only speak from my experience.

    I have a buddy that got one which had tons of issues before it blew a head gasket in less than 10hrs. The dealer that sold it basically told him to "deal with it" and that "he didn't have time to deal with his issues", then refused to answer any requests for warranty replacement. EOS really needs to work on vetting their dealer network in the US, as their current dealer is an asshole.
