- Zbrush 4r7 Sculpting Tutorial -Lizard / Frog Quadraped Creature HD
In this tutorial, which is hopefully to become a first part in the series, we’ll be creating a concept mesh of a quadrupedal creature. Taking inspiration from real life lizards and frogs we’ll design our own character. We’ll discuss animal anatomy, it’s reaction to human anatomy and how it is applied to character design process.
We’ll also see some techniques on creating wrinkles and folds and discuss what makes them look natural and how to approach a character design as building it layer by layer be it basic shape, or saggy skin or even skin micro details. This tutorial is a first step in the series on how to create a production ready model, starting with concept and ending in retopologized, UV’d and textured model.
This tutorial was created exclusively for Edge-CGI by Eugene, feel free to check out his artstation to see more of his work!

This is great , please do make the production pipeline series , it'll be of great help.
very informative!! thanks for this
Really cool vídeo and sculpt model
Oh man, this is one of the best creature sculpting process explanation video! Thank you very much! The way you describe your flow is super laconic and informative. I always find myself stuck in the middle of the process of sculpting trying to resolve some issues and figure out what will be the next step. Where can I see the next chapter aka Retopology/UV mapping/rendering? It's sad that the video is 4 years old, so I probably just missed it.
dont think this is tutorial. A half of work interface is hidden, and i got a lot of queations how the hell you do some things and what instruments, menu, etc you use
This looks amazing... I really want to see you making a street in Maya, great video content to explain hard surface and to show how to make a complex scene :) I subscribed to your channel yesterday and I think it's going to be very useful for my studies ! (Video Games modeling)
awesome.detail and tips! Didnt quite catch it, but what were you doing with the slice brush exactly?
Hi, I am beginner want know how to hide some path of the lizard to make me ez to add detail?
Nice tutorial!! The last render, did you render directly on zbrush?...
did you zremesh at some point?
Min 3:00 you cut the model and work on the first part and the last worked another part . I know how you can did cut part but i don't know how you can worked another part ... ???I'm a beginner and I watch your videos for improve myself in this program .
I have a question. Would you want HTC vive support for zbrush?
I'm by no means an expert, but I'd think one would want as much control as one could get. I wouldn't think the HTC vive is precise enough to be able to sculpt fine details.
I'd use a wacom tablet.
This is more a narritive speedsculpt, no tutorial!
Incase you DON'T KNOW... A tutorial is a step by step process showing how to do something, you just posting a fast forward video of you creating something is NOT a tutorial, so DON'T call it one!
Not a tutorial at all. No explanation on brushes used, why, how. Just talking about concept design. That's it.
