  • Zbrush Character Sculpting Timelapse Tutorial - Alien Creature Design HD
    In this timelapse tutorial, Eugene will guide you through his proccess of designing an Alien Creature with Zbrush. You’ll see the character being built from a simple sphere to high subdivision detail. He’ll cover basic principles of design, and how to approach it from a symbolic perspective, discuss the tools and brushes used in the process, try some detail reprojecting tricks and discuss the effective techniques of adding micro details while keeping the design organic and coherent.
    Apart from general modeling and design principles you’ll learn how to effectively utilize Zbrush’s layers system for skin detailing, learn to visually separate the surfaces from one another and see some more rare instruments hidden within ZPlugin menu.
    This tutorial was created exclusively for Edge-CGI by Eugene, feel free to check out his artstation to see more of his work!

    With a simple vocabulary you've told a lot. Very good tutorial.

    Watched the full video, its so inspiring and learning please upload more like this! Amazing sculpt. Maybe make just a video about how to pose the model and also what you made when you made a copy. Also a lighting tutorial in Keyshot would be nice

    This is incredible. Im new at sculpting zone, i use blender for sculpting, maya for traditional modeling but i want to learn zbrush. Yet, its rotation camera system so sucks. How to get use to it? Any tips pls?

    Could you use this character for animation in Maya?

    Need some insight... I'm trying to decide if I should do a one year program focused on 3d modeling/ concept design or spend the money on a bachelor's at a school for basically the same thing and be in more debt. Any opinions on either side? Thanks to any response

      I'd recommend sticking to UA-cam and self teaching yourself. I did a degree and most of the time it was the students self-teaching themselves and not enough one on one help was available. Lecturers were also not great and the projects too basic for any portfolio you might want for future interviews. You want a solid portfolio - follow tutorials, learn how the software works and have fun making.

    i'm horrible at details, also pre-planning, seems like you had a basic idea of the silhouette, but you redesign is it goes?(ps. love the crazy shell part lol)

    Do you keep dynamesh on after you remesh or whatever it was called. I forgot the name

    • @ivetastripeikaite307
      @ivetastripeikaite307 5 років тому

      He does not. He turns off dynamesh, duplicates the model and uses the "zremesh" on one of them. The one he "zremeshes" is lower in quality but has a better topology (the polygons are easier to work with). However, the other model has more detail. So to transfer the high level detail onto the "zremeshed" model, he used "project". Then he "divides" the "zremeshed" model for more resolution and "projects" again to transfer the detail and again repeats the process. In the end he will be able to use the "divided" and "zremeshed" model to go up and down in resolution without losing information. Rewatch from 9:00 carefully for the details.

    i already created something like you.. but i got a problem when unwraping the thing.. its maybe caused by total count

      You would need to create a lower poly version of this. I'd recommend "3D-Coat" as it is easy to learn and works great.

      Do your unwrapping from the lowest subdivision, not the highest.

    I really want to learn Zbrush
    But mudbox is soooo much easier :|

    • @Advection357
      @Advection357 8 років тому

      Kreegrrr Thing is.. Zbrush is a full fledged independent sculpting app.. mudbox is mostly for adding details to an existing mesh & is meant to work with a main 3d app.. like maya etc..
