    finally someone has shown the entire process to presenting your work, learned a lot from it, and truly love how you created diff dimension with extra veins sticking out(hope that's what that is) and btw, a week, this shows how we amateurs should spend month on single work without a single word of complain, thanks a lot again for showing your process

      Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's no way a tutorial for this specific thing would get you to there. You have to put in work, and time, and practice.

    • @smockytubers1188
      @smockytubers1188 7 років тому +6

      Seems uncalled for. He was asking for a tutorial only. I'd watch it myself.
      And who knows, this guy might be a super-artist who's already "to there", we have no idea.

    • @Alexs321432
      @Alexs321432 7 років тому

      Your both right, No tutorial will get you there over night however watching an over detailed tutorial on may teach you 1 or two things you can use to improve yourself. Maybe even a voice over of his process and what he's thinking where he's looking.

    Masterfully crafted, you have some great design elements in there too, like the head shell.
    If had to crit one thing it would making the spider legs fit more with the humanoid body and legs. Possibly If hips where angled forward to make his belly jut out more, and his humanoid legs where as thin as his spider legs, it might help?

    • @JustinLeeArt
      @JustinLeeArt  8 років тому +2

      +Louis Browne thanks for your critic really appreciate your time writing it down. The leg part is the most challenging during this project i'm having a hard time designing it, as you can see the end result leg looks way different from the timeslapse video. Once again thanks for your suggestion Louis I will keep in mind and apply it on my next project.

  • @Avtomat

    Such a strong design! I still feel that texturing in ZBrush (spotlight) would have been a faster choice and you would need to add just the finishing touches in PS.

  • @downfall991
    @downfall991 8 років тому +5

    Would love to know your workflow. When you for example export your meshes to Keyshot are they in dynamesh or did you remesh everything?
    Great job btw, beautiful!

    • @JustinLeeArt
      @JustinLeeArt  8 років тому +1

      +Downfall for this project I just decimate the final mesh, because keyshot can really support high resolution model and also keyshot doesn't support displacement map so it's better to just decimate it than using normal/bump.

    • @downfall991
      @downfall991 8 років тому +1

      +Justin Lee So basically... decimate(keeping all the details with lower polycount?) > export > render > comp?
      Thank you!

    Was this at all inspired from eldrazi in magic?

  • @ahmedshakib3883
    @ahmedshakib3883 8 років тому

    hey awesome video mate , for details on the skin do I need to have a higher subdivision , I have seen that its hard to get details at a poly count of 100000 polys , I can get a a good base and muscle separation and definition , but for veins and wrinkles what should be the poly count.

    • @JustinLeeArt
      @JustinLeeArt  8 років тому +1

      +Ahmed shakib usually how zbrush works, for 100k poly count is good enough for secondary muscle form. For detail skin like pores veins and wrinkles you might need to separate them into different subtool like head, arm, leg and body. For each subtool should have around 1mil poly to capture the detail that you wanted.

  • @RaulGonzalez-yb1em

  • @AdrianoZanetti
    @AdrianoZanetti 8 років тому +6

    Amazing design, love that character. One thing that tickles me though, i'm guessing it's more of an artistic choice, to keep it sexier, is why such strong (muscled) legs when already having so much support from all the surrounding limbs. I would expect more atrophied leg limbs to balance between the look and anatomic "realism" :)
    Enjoyed every second of that video, fantastic skills and talent. thank you.

    • @JustinLeeArt
      @JustinLeeArt  8 років тому +6

      Thanks for the feedback, always welcome any critics and suggestion. I totally agree with you about having atrophied leg because of the support from the surrounding limbs really appreciate you pointing that out, I will keep in mind and apply it on my future creature design.
      Cheers,
      Justin

    can you help me understand how do you megde this little details into one with the main body. every time i try to merge them, they still stay remain sparate. and the do not take the shape when i smooth them. try'd to look for some guides on zbrush but found nothing.

    • @scottcombs3882
      @scottcombs3882 4 роки тому

      The dynamesh tool in the geometry tab is likely what he is using. I dont remember the hotkey for it but it can physically connect two merged subtools. You will likely have to increase the resolution from the default to get good results.
