I actually hate wearing in ears when I can't hear the drums properly. It feels like a real disconnect. For me anyway, I am a big e kit user so maybe I'm too use to the extremely crisp sound the electric kit provides. Awesome video as always Adam. Your a real inspiration.
I always love your videos Adam! I'm not in the market for a wireless system in my studio at the moment, but I definitely see the benefits of being unplugged. When I'm ready to invest I'll being checking out Sennheiser first.

About those ie100pro's, they've been a game changer for me. I bought some se215's a while ago and kind of hated them. The fit was off, sound not that great, and the cable was very finnicky. I almost went to get a custom pair because I knew the 215's as a sort of industry standard and they didn't work for me. Then, someone reccomended to try some Sennheiser iems and they're so much more comfortable for me. Of course very subjective but I love them for the price
What is about Latency when you're recording?
Just imagine using a computer and each time you move the mouse you have to wait a second to see the cursor move. That latency would be frustrating and ruin the user experience quickly.
Same goes for drums.
You need as little latency as possible between the moment the sound source such as the drums are played and hearing it in your ears. Even a small amount of latency can ruin the experience.
@@adamalexanderray yeah I got that concept, I was just wondering, what happens when you get your click from your DAW with this wireless pack. Technically there should be latency. But if this has any noticeable impact wasn't answered.
@@jochen39415 This was too laid back of video to go down that wormhole, but latency with these wireless units essentially comes down to your computer and the plug ins you use. The wireless unit is not the cause of latency, if you experience any.
In my case, I only use the iMac in my studio for tracking. The session is later opened at another desk, where I mix and edit on a more powerful machine.
For me, monitoring 11 mics (without plug ins) on an old 2015 iMac had zero latency. Again, this comes down to your computer’s playback speed and power - not the wireless unit you’re using. It is 100% possible to live monitor yourself with a full mix, if your computer is fast enough to process the mix and send it back to you.
