i have a 2000 bmw 528i sedan without sport package and i went to test drive a 2012 bmw 528i, without sport package but it had premium, cold weather, driver assist and it was beautiful. but i noticed something amazing while driving it, it drove exactly the same as my 2000, the feel of the wheel and the way the body flew into a turn was almost identical to my 2000. of course the newer one was a tad tighter and all together "newer" but damn what amazing machines, bmw has mercedes and audi beat!

Blame the transmission choice. The fantastic 8-speed ZF auto shaves at least a half second off of the 0-60 and 1/4m times versus the 6-speed manual.
the 528 is to sluggish while the 550 is to costy, the 535i with the manual transmission seems like the perfect choice,
