Alright; I had this feeling when I brought my first child home; I told my best friend "it was an awesome once in a lifetime experience" So almost 6 years later I am still 1 and done, for good!

This popped up in my feed after watching some of your most recent videos. As a mom of what I though would always be 5, now expecting our 6th… I love how God gives us peace and assurance in different times of our lives and then later we find out His plan was actually different than how we understood it at the time. I’m so happy for you and all the recent changes you’ve announced. Wishing you well!

@theectricbarbarellas my goodness, I'm in the exact same situation. So torn..! My two (now 7 and 3 years old) get on so well, I can hardly imagine a third one in the mix. I'd also be afraid not being able to give enough personal attention to my children. But then, at the same time, I just feel this longing for another baby. But is that 'good enough' of a reason to add another person into our household..?? I wish I knew..

I feel like all your videos just speak to my heart! Our third is about to be 6 months and people always ask us if we are done. Some days the answer is yes, and some days I don’t know. We always wanted four but I’m totally content with three and because the third has been so hard I am very fearful of having more. But I know that God does not give us a spirit of fear. My husband is a Pastor so I know the demand it requires and that is also hard. I’m just praying God will CLEARY speak to my heart like this if we are to have more. Thank you for sharing your story! I’m so glad I have found your channel!

Hey Meghan! Boy, do I remember the fear of having more! I pray that God will give you a supernatural peace to know and that He will speak clearly AND send confirmation your way. My heart goes out to families in full time ministry...it is such a blessing, but also such a demanding lifestyle. Hugs xo

That is so beautiful! I wasn't able to get pregnant until age 36 and my husband is 9 years older. We have one precious son and we were going to be one and done but children are so incredible that we are starting to think why not 2 or 3? Being a mother feels like what I am meant to do in my life. I also want to homeschool. We will be grateful to God no matter what happens but despite our "older age" I don't think we are done yet!

Thank you for sharing your story! I was so excited to see this new video today as this subject is near to my heart right now. Our youngest (and our only unexpected baby) is 13 months old and I'll be 37 in April. On the one hand, I am feeling the effects of having five kids in ten years, but on the other hand, I can't ignore the unmistakable (and inexplicable) tug that there's still one little soul missing here. I pray for God's peace daily.

I wasn’t gonna click on this video thinking I couldn’t relate but wow I’m glad I did. Even with our children (who came to us through adoption) I don’t feel we are done. God has given my husband and I a heart for adoption and we feel there are a couple of more orphans out there for us to make part of our family. Six months after coming back from China after adopting our fist son we started the next adoption process. Right after we came back from China the second time the social worker asked me if I felt my family was complete and I said NO. We are praying and hoping we can adopt again and my boys keep asking me to adopt again. 😊 They are more than enough and I am content but I keep feeling the tug to adopt again.

I just found your channel... so lovely to watch. I also have 5 children and I’m considering homeschooling. It’s so interesting how you said you felt someone was missing in your family picture because that’s how I always felt about each of my kids and knew then that it was time for another. I would walk in the room look around and get scared because I thought someone was missing.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. My husband and I have 4 little boys and everyone we know is split on either we HAVE to keep going for that baby girl, or we are insane to have had 4 boys in the first place. I LOVE my family and, honestly, my 4 boys aren't even as crazy as some of my 2 kid sibling's families. I've been wrestling for a while now on whether or not to have another baby. I feel a pull so hard to have another child, boy or girl, but I've also been very fearful that I'll mess up the awesome dynamic we have going, that we'll go from a fun, manageable flow to tipping the scales and our home being out of control. My sweet husband is totally useless on helping me decide (haha!) His attitude is that he never really had any strong desire for any of our kids until I was visibly pregnant, and it was when they were born that he felt a strong love and bond with them. Basically he's fine if we stick with 4 and he's fine if we have another!! But you are absolutely right - I have been looking for confirmation and trying to tune out naysayers and forceful "just-one-more's," and I've been ignoring the complete absence of peace about leaving our family at 4 kids!

Awe, I have sort of an opposite time with welcoming kids into our life. I had so many naysayers who freaked out and were so hurtful over us having more. It's been such adversity. Now at the ripe old age of 34 (jokingly) I no longer care about others opinions. I love hearing your story and such peace that he was your last baby! That's a great thing that God gives us such peace! I have eight and 8 do not feel done yet. I feel content and grateful..but I also feel like it's not over for us yet. I enjoyed hearing your story and thanks for sharing! I plan to do a similar video explaining our Journey too! God bless!

Just found you today while looking up TGTB curriculum reviews, and clicked on this. We have 6 and although I've felt done since I was 6 weeks pregnant with our 6th baby, he's almost 2 and my husband has finally scheduled surgery in 2 weeks. We still wonder what one more would be like (they've all been so interesting and fun!) but my body truly can't handle another pregnancy.
Like you, we had 3 super quick, then #4 a little later (but still 4 under 6!). #5&6 were very close too, and both very difficult babies. 6 kids in 10 years feels like more blessings than I deserve, and often more than I can handle. 😂 I feel like God snuck #6 in there so quick because He knew if #5 got much older I would have said no more.
We are still going to spend this next 2 weeks in prayer, but I haven't received the healing or baby sleeping through the night I've been asking God for in order to be able to handle another pregnancy, so I feel peaceful being done. ❤️❤️
Feel like I wrote a book, but just wanted to say thank you, this was just what I needed to hear today.

I totally feel you on God sneaking in a few real quick because if time had passed we would have stopped! ha! :) I think it is so wise to wait a few weeks to keep praying and seeking before making the final decision because our emotions can be so fickle! Praying you feel that peace that passes understanding when the time is right!

This video smacked me right in the face! I constantly feel like there is a child missing in our home. My husband even jokes going around the house calling his name that we picked out if our last baby would've been a boy. God works in mysterious ways! I truly believe He isn't done with us yet. People assume that I am done as well simply because I have the two girls and a boy and apparently you should stop then. I have no peace with my third being the last one. I feel like there is supposed to be one more in my heart. I get the same feeling you did describing your picture as you walked out the door. I also felt the pressure of people thinking that we would be done after we had our oldest girl and then boy/girl twins... But then along came a boy. After that I just kept thinking, what if I had been done after the twins? I would have missed out on our little boy... Who else would I be missing out on if I was done? Now we have a set of one month old twins, boy/girl again, and I'm just in love with them... When our fourth was born our oldest girl was three and a half. Our older four are now age 4 through 7, and it is such a sweet experience to watch the older kids love on and welcome babies into the family wholeheartedly. I'm able to enjoy them so much more as well, with the extra hands and no toddlers around. Can't imagine life without them already!

Shirley, I came across your channel a few months back when we were debating on pulling our two oldest children (1st and 2nd grade) from public school. We had just moved to Alaska from Oklahoma. Our plan all along was to homeschool when we arrived, but I quickly became overwhelmed and we sent them to the local school. Once Christmas break came around we started the discussion once again. God has laid it on my heart so strongly to homeschool these children (at least for now) to overcome some obstacles that they were facing. I came across your channel and it spoke so loudly to me. I knew God had led me to see your homeschooling video. Ive been following you since and I must tell you that now we are in the "should we have one more" phase. We have four children, exact opposite genders of yours. B8, B7, G4, B18 mon. My daughter has been BEGGING me for a sister. Ive been overhearing prayers from my older boys about bringing another baby to our home, and then I hear my oldest speaking to our youngest about how to be a big brother. Its like they know something we don't. I SWORE after we had our last child that we were done. DONE. It was a rough pregnancy and delivery. I felt so sure of that decision for a long time. We got rid of most of our baby items as our son outgrew them. Your video just popped up on my screen and I couldn't help but chuckle. It amazes me how loud God can be when He wants us to realize something. When He is telling us that "our plan" isn't His and we need to just be still and listen. Children are blessings, each and everyone. Thank you for being so candid and sharing your story. It speaks to me more than you could know.

Our third is about to be 1. He reminds me a bit of your Joy-Anna! The first two kiddos were easy, napped well, slept through the night. My third still doesn't sleep through the night. After our second was born we knew there was a third child coming, we just knew it...just didn't know when. We planned to start trying for baby #3 when our second was maybe 3 or so. To our surprise, the Lord had different plans and we were pregnant when our second child was 2. My Husband says he feels done, but I can't decide if I am. Some days, the tiring hard days, I feel that I am definitely done, lol. other days I feel like there might be just one more. My third pregnancy was hard. Nothing like the first two. That alone makes me feel like I "should" be done, but I don't have that I am for sure done kind of peace yet. I am praying for the Lord's will in that area.. If we have baby #4 then my heart would be overflowing with love and gratitude. If we never have baby #4 then I really don't feel like I would be missing out. I honestly don't know how to interpret it right now bc baby #3 is still not even 1. I feel like there is time lol. Loved your video!

There's a saying "never make a big decision when you are mad, sad or bad" and I'll take the liberty to add...or have a tough 1 year old on your hands, ha! It's a miracle we went for #5 since our sweet little Joy was such a handful. I think that is why God used other people to speak to me...cause I just was not going to hear Him saying it to me in that season, ha! :) Thanks for watching and commenting. I really do love hearing other people's stories!! Hugs!

We had 2 kids 3 years apart and then a devastatingly long 5 years with 2 miscarriages! When our third baby was 15 months I was shocked to be pregnant with our 4th and even more socked to learn it was twins, now only one! Right now I feel done, done, done (she’s not yet born), but our third baby was sooo hard. Held all the time for about 6 months straight and didn’t sleep through the night for a year! I'm about 9 months pregnant with our 5th (and our oldest is 5 yrs old). We've always said that we would let God decided how many kids we had and we are still holding to that. So now I'm just wondering if this is it. Honestly, God has laid it on our hearts to adopt. So the question is not if this is our last, but rather is this one our last that I will carry. I'm getting older and body is feeling it. 😆 So now my prayer is what is our next step. Thank you for this video. I'm praying for that inner peace and that God will speak to us when the time comes to be done. We are in our chaos season of life but I'm loving every bit.

My husband and I never really talked about having kids- neither of us was sure we wanted to be parents. We waited 8 years before we got pregnant- and it was not planned. We lost that baby very early on( God had other plans for us in that time of life) but that made me realize I really wanted a baby.

Potty training was enough to make me stop.🤣. I am so glad God gave me the desire for a second child! She is so much fun and always has us laughing. We have two girls and I have complete peace about that number. However, if the Lord gave me another baby I would be excited. 🤗

Hi I just found your channel searching for The Good and the Beautiful reviews. This video and your very first one is so relatable and encouraging to me! I literally have goosebumps watching it because it applies so much to my life right now!
We have 4 kids ages 6,5,3,and 17 months. After our last we both wanted to be done. I had hard pregnancies and big babies and just couldn't imagine going through that again. Somehow though my husband and I both didn't have peace with him getting a vasectomy yet so we never went through with it. Well we just found out that we are pregnant with 5!! We are both surprised and relieved that we chose to wait and our baby is so loved already. This will definitely be our last though!
The part that gave me goosebumps was that 2 months ago I dreamt we had a baby girl. The next month I dreamed I was holding a pregnancy test and watched it turn positive!!
My husband is convinced it's a girl!
Sorry for the long writing, I just know God led me here today to encourage me because I was feeling overwhelmed and anxious about homeschooling 2 kids and being pregnant with number 5.

I have just had my 4th baby who is a month old. 3 boys and 1 girl now. However, im sick of people imposing their thoughts on me! Im sick of people asking me if im done because I know they are trying to tell me thats enough. If you want one child its up to you. If u want 10 its up to you. I would never want to get to 10 kids coz i think thats too many for me. At the same time I would never tell someone who has 10 kids to stop having them.I will just mind my own business. However, stop asking me if im done yet. I always get this question wen im pregnant, its specially strangers or people who just know me and are not my friends. I noticed i started to get insecure and started responding, saying its my last just to be accepted in the society. I have to say I blame myself for being insecure and I've ended up lying to myself and random people saying I have enough. Hey, Im done with this. Not anymore! I'll do the hell i want!! If i get pregnant for the 5th time i will say its non of your business. Stay the hell away from planning for me. I'm living my life. Live yours.

Out of our 5 only one was exactly planned. One was sort of planned, two were a total surprise, and one was an event bigger surprise because she came after my husbands vasectomy. Children are definitely a blessing from God. Lovely video dear. ❤ just subscribed ! I also have a family , homeschool channel and would love for you to check it out so we can support each other !
