The fact that this man got out of prison, made a meaningful life for himself and was put back in prison after being found not guilty, is absolutely disgusting. I don't care if the parole board didn't believe him, he was found not guilty and it shouldn't be their choice to overlook that. So disgusting.

Yes it does are you stupid, they put him back based on police interaction and the fact from his crimes in the past. Not guilty is innocent.

its politics and now, protocol. If you look at 30:04 and going for a few mins, he uses some tricky language to describe and give justification for the board's lack of respect for the verdict as well as lack of evidence--'in some way he was connected"...well, you could say that about himself! It means nothing in itself.
Was there any actual evidence Perry was involved in the theft or burglary? No, there was not. Even if some evidence had not made it into court that was relevant, it would have been likely the Board would be privy to it.
I do think it was bad luck, though Perry really should have used better judgement in giving a ride to someone who could have been wanted or involved in significant criminal behavior (he knew him by sight from one of the programs he managed).

It is logic if he is actually guilty.
I dont think he or his lawyers had actual proof he wasnt guilty just as the parole board didnt have proof he was guilty.
They said none of the parole board believed his story.
That he didnt tell the cops about the hitchhiker and he admitted he didnt tell the cops about the hitchhiker.
Either way if he is guilty or not if he was acquitted in court he should of been released.

I say no reason because clearly, you had no reason here! I can only come up with one reason, it is racially motivated! the actions of the parole board are the same as if a cop stops you and arrests you without any crime being done and convicts you and sends you to prison! that is exactly what is going on in this country right now with one exception, cops can murder you and get away with it!

    • @bigpumpkin49
      @bigpumpkin49 3 роки тому +1

The set up is in the legal system itself. He was originally sentenced to life in prison, but did manage to earn parole. Generally, parole extends through the remainder of the suspended sentence. Which, in his case, was life unfortunately. The problem is the length of some of these parole/probation periods. That man was living and contributing to society for 11 years, without incident, before this happened. There's no logical reason for him to have still been on parole. However, that's one of the factors in the legal system set up and I think sometimes contributes to the high recidivism rates. Once you have a record, it's a lot harder for them to obtain some things ppl without records take for granted including housing.

These people are disgusting. Based on their logic a man or woman can never change. Under the prison? You can be high risk on the first charge. People can change. How is it constitutional to give them that much power over another human being…. It’s not.

Did the police see this mysterious man that "jumped out of the car" before getting pulled over? Otherwise I call BS.
Dude knows anything brought into his car is his responsibility, it could've been a brick coke, and he'd still responsible , unless maybe the mysterious passenger claimed it.

Mr. Perry is on parole for the rest of his life for something the courts found him innocent of. How is that? This happened in 2015 I would like to know how everything went for those prisoners that were on this program. Thats the one thing I don't like about these documentaries. They tell you a story but you never get a followup on these shows.

Then you have this other guy life in prison model citizen gets out somebody leaves something in his car the iPad without any verification approved for fingerprints life in jail. these 3 on the parole board are a bad judge of character and they need to get off the board like yesterday.

I think that the justice system is messed up all the way around. At the beginning of this video the narrator stated that they wanted to find out if justice is being served. I am not in the court houses, police departments or prison and I can see and hear that justice is served disproportionately. Innocent people are being imprisoned and murdered by police while criminals are out their paying the police to look the other way. People of color receive more time than Caucasians. This did not just start happening. I am 72 years old and I have been watching this injustice going on for years. Had it not been for cell phones and internet, we would only hear from people who have been through the system on what is going on. If it weren't for people from the Innocence project and other organzations like that, we would not know the truth. Now it is true that there are innocent people in prison. The fact that people do not want to be filmed tells me that they have something to hide. Why can't they film inside the rooms where they are going to decide if a person gets paroled? Why can't the people film a person get out of prison? What do they have to hide?

I felt so sorry for him that guy his been trying make a good change in his life and look what happened I still can't believe how the american justice system work some people with better record stay in prison and some people with worst record came out of prison based on 4 or 5 people that belong to parole board who decided who can go or stay. I hope he can turn around his life for better like he did before when he had his previous parole and I do understand that we all are human being and we make mistake but the difference are that some people really want change their life and some not but the one that really want change their life need a second chance if they committed a terrible crime as a murders or rapes then there are NO chance for Paroles or probation they must stay behind bars for life because such terrible crimes like that a least the only way they can pay their debts with society is prison for life or death penalties and I know the only one who can take our life is GOD because he is the only one that give us our life.

Most porale board members are pieces of trash. They sit there and read from a piece of paper only the bad things you did or times you messed up. They don't know that person at all. They was absolutely no way that lady knew he was going to hurt anyone again. Keeping him in prison longer is making him worse.

This new approach to paroling someone isn't a perfect fix! In other words to be fair and to properly evaluate someone still must come down to human evaluation, not a computer! so that I believe using this new system is going to make bad decisions going either way! I believe no matter what you do it will always be a hit and miss deal when releasing someone on parol!

One of the biggest problems I see with the so-called justice system is they judge everyone under the same umbrella! they don't take each case or person individually, I believe that is because of old fashion laziness, I mean if you take 10 people and 9 act in the same way but you treat all 10 the same way is that really fair to the one that is not the same? I have experienced this myself not in a criminal case but in a case where I was judged as being the same as everyone else and it wasn't right!

  • @charlesgriffith4936

There are people alot more dangerous than those guys that make parole. Besides it's not about justice anymore anyway. If it ever was to begin with. The other crime these guys committed was being indigent also. It's also about what kind of money they have and dont have. Had these guys been rich, they either would not have gotten any time to begin with. Or at the very least would have gotten less time than what they're doing. Yes the ultimate way to avoid it is just dont commit crimes. And while that may be ideal, it goes alot deeper than that. Dont forget there have also been those convicted of things they didnt even do. Sure they got cleared after seving decades. But they were also depending on representation by a court appointed public pretender too. So "just dont commit crimes" isnt exactly a guarantee to avoid prison either
