- Hi Everyone! We all have scraps at the end of our projects. Add them all up and you have an entirely new project!! I love using my scraps to make beautiful creations. They always take me down memory lane and I love to remember the other projects made with that yarn. I hope this video will motivate or inspire you to make a scrappy blanket of your own!! The blankets I show you in this video are all worsted weight acrylic.
Thank you for your interest, and I hope you'll come back and see me again! Have a wonderfully BLESSED day!
Love the different scrap blankets. Recently, watching so many people using their scraps in blankets, I became really fond of them. The fact that they are unique is very appealing to me.
Hi Sigal~! Yes, I agree that each one is different and special! Thanks!!
Love the scrap corner to corner with the multi-colored yarrns
Hi, Cindy! I love re-using/re-cycling anything I can! And I'm on team corner to corner all day long, so this is one I love too. Thank you!
Well Done, AMY! So Colorfully Creative. 🎨🎨I like the way you used solid rows in between the multi. 👏🤩🤗 Therese Pisarcik 🧶
Hi Therese! Thank you VERY much!!
Corner to corner is my absolute favorite pattern. I’ll have to try the 2 double crochet rows at a time. It looks really cool!
Hiya Geenabeans! I just know you'll love the 2DC. It works up so quickly and I think it really gives a great look if you work into the BLO (back loop only). Let me know how it goes!!🤗
I love the c2c crochet stitch and I also love scrappy blankets. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Hi nh! Thank you so much!!
When I hear 'random and fun' I think of an English Cottage Garden - looks random but it's a lot of work to get it to look random [and beautiful].
Hi Sara! An English Cottage Garden sounds lovely!! My grandmother used to say beauty is pain, as she brushed out my hair. haha Effort that is well worth it can be random and fun. Thank you!
Love the double crochet blanket .I'd love to try that one ..I've only made 1 tiny granny square blank for grand baby .I'm working on another .but pretty new to crochet .I'm love that more then knitting .
Hi Bunny! I could not get myself to enjoy knitting. I've tried a few times. But crochet is something that your skill can grow and grow and I just love it. I hope to provide you with inspiration and motivation to try new stitches, to not give up when mistakes are made, and just to love what you are doing no matter how imperfect it may look. You can surprise yourself with works you can create if you just try. Keep letting me know how it's going with you! 🥰
I really like the double row one. It's an interesting look. Scrap afghans are my favoite.
Hi Cris!! Thanks!
❤ I always have a c2c of some sort going-they are so functional. Both blankets look really great.
Hey loriKae! That's my go-to between projects. I despise not knowing what project to start next, so sometimes c2c is what I'll do just to get moving.😎 Thanks very much!
Of those 2, I'd like to try the double DC blanket --- but as a scarf AND a blanket! Amy, thanks again for the inspiration! You can be cray cray all you want 'cause I think we're all cray cray about yarn stuff together!
oooooh garden, you just blew my mind! 🤯 I never thought to do the double DC in a scarf. I am SO gonna do that!! Thank you for such a great idea!! 😍
Love your C2C, I'm currently been working too on a scrap C2C - mines not done yet. The other blanket looks cool too! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Courtney! Thank you!
I've been working on some corner to corner granny squares. I will eventually make them into something..lol. It's a nice way to relax and I don't have to think.
Hey Vicki! Glad to hear someone else doing these. I also thought to make different kinds of granny squares and put these together with those. I love the same thing, only different. Thanks!
@@amyluvscrochet6140.. that is so funny... I've been thinking the same thing. I've started saving different styles and tutorials so I can get my colors together before starting...good minds, good minds. 😄
I lov craftsmart too, and it's definitely gotten softer. Your scrap blankets are lovely.
Thanks Jenny! With other yarns changing for the worse, I'm so happy with Craftsmart!
Your blankets are beautiful! I absolutely love scrap blankets -the different color combinations are unique and I so enjoy seeing them. I am going to have look up your tutorial that you mentioned. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Nelly! Thank you! Hope you enjoy trying the new stitch.
Love the doll dress and accessories, so cute!
Sometime I forget all I spoke on, so this surprise comment is lovely! 😅😍 Thank you so much, KayKatt! I love your flower photo.
I've been working on scrap blankets since the start of the year too. So nice using up those leftovers. Yours are really pretty.
Thank you so much, Linda! What stitches do you use your scraps on? Just like eating leftovers feels like a free meal, so does using scraps feel like free yarn. Love it!
@@amyluvscrochet6140 I finished up a hexagon blankert (so many ends, yuck) 2 C2Cs, a ripple, and now a working on a simple one with rows of DC changing colors every few rows. Oh we love free yarn!
Amy I love your scrap blanket.😊
Bless you and I will be back.😊
Thank you so much, Dawn!
xo
Omg.. What a beautiful blankets.. You have just inspired me.. Thank you so much..
Hello Pho Jane! Yay! I mean to do exactly that, inspire all of you with my trials and tribulations. I'm so glad, thank you for commenting!! 🤗
Love the blankets
Hello Bonnie! Thank you so much!
Hi Amy! I absolutely love making scrap projects. I love how all of the colors work out in such random gorgeous patterns. Much love TTFN
Let's all do our best Forrest Gump "like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get." Random gorgeous is my favorite!! Hope your day is great Jessica! XO
Hi, Amy. Those are really beautfull blankets.i like your idea about just working them out on your lap till you decide it's big enough. 😉 enjoyed your talk today.
hey warron! I have to remember, my lap isn't everyone's lap but it works much of the time. Hope things are going well for you! 🤗
Such beautiful work! Thank you for sharing! It gives me all kinds of ideas. 🙂
Hi Kristi! Thank you. Hope you enjoy making one or more of your own!!
Beautiful blankets!❤
Thank you Barb! 😍
Your blankets as usual are beautiful!
Aw, thank you judy! 🤗
😊 scrapping is fun !
Hi Jody! I just love the different blankets you can get from your scraps!! Thanks!
I so want to learn C2C! Your scrappy blankets are gorgeous. You should be proud of your work! 🙂
Thank you so much Judith! Here is a link for someone teaching the C2C with a chart to assist your eye in talking to your brain. 🙃 ua-cam.com/video/KMi60YC60rs/v-deo.html Give it a try on a small swatch like she does. I've seen someone who uses a paper chart (like graph paper), try to color in each square as you go so you know where you are until it makes sense.
@@amyluvscrochet6140 Thanks for the recommendation! 😊
I love the scrap blanket
Hi Donna Jean! Thank you!
I love both blankets! I haven’t tried C2C yet but it’s on my list.
Hey tootoo! I luv me another Amy! 😉 When I'm between projects and don't know what to start next, a C2C is my no brainer. Hope you love it as much as I do! When you try it, let us know how it turns out! Thanks!!
Hi Amy ... Your scrap blankets are so pretty! I made one this year but keep putting off finishing the fringe. Don't like doing fringe put didn't want to weave in ends. Hopefully I can get it done soon. But I liked how it turned out. Probably going to make another this year. I've got a lot of scraps. Might try the C2C. I really enjoy that stitch and it seems to work up fast. Hope you ha e a great day!!
Kelly, I am not a fan of dealing with ends, at all! I do a magic knot between my colors when I can to avoid that. Or just sew in as I go, but who wants to stop crocheting to sew. bleck. haha Thanks! 🥰
@@amyluvscrochet6140 I need to learn to do that magic not!
I love your creativity ☺️ ❤️
Hi lamlynie~! Thank you!
@@amyluvscrochet6140 you are welcome ☺️ ❤️
Beautiful scrap blankets.
Hi Trish! Let me know what your favorite scrappy blanket pattern if you've made one.
@@amyluvscrochet6140 I actually haven't made one yet. I've been wanting to because I have a ton of scrap yarn and I love scrap blankets. Thinking I am going to use one of your tutorials to make one.
I love C2C. I’ve made at least 15 afghans with that stitch. You don’t have to use your brain too much. Turn on a good movie and go go go. But I never used 5-6 stitches in the cluster. I’ll definitely try it. Thanks. 😊
Hi Carol! What I mean with the 5 or 6 stitches refers to the chain that you use for the first DC in the block. I still only use that chain plus 3 DCs. In the way that some people use a chain 3 to count as a DC, if you only chain 2 then it makes the blocks more compact. So if you want less light to come through, chain 5 on the edge when you start a new block, then just chain 2 when you are within the blanket and starting the next block. Hope that makes sense, but please let me know if it didn't. I'll probably mention it in my next recording (maybe a few posted videos from now). Glad to find another C2C lover!! Thanks!
Beautiful
Hi Joyce! Thank you!
I love c2c
Hi Mary Beth. Yay, another c2c fan!!
Hi just found you, loving your scrap blankets, i must try the C2C ... Looking forward to watching more of your videos 😊 ❤ from UK
Hi voni! Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Welcome! I really hope you enjoy your time here!
I love your yarn collection in the shelves. Where did you get it or did you make it yourself under diy? Thee blanket is Beautiful! Love the colors.
Hi Sunshine! The shelf unit was a surprise from my husband and sons about 9 years ago. I was called into the garage Christmas morning. I didn't have a clue! It was great. Thank you!
Please show us how you did the double crochet over the double crochet. I am just new here and enjoy your channel. What is the name of the stitch also. Happy crocheting. Surprise I found your tutorial, thanks.
Hi Sheryl, and Welcome!! I'm so happy you enjoy the 2 DC row blanket look and excited that you will give it a try! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions! Thank you!
It's a wool?
Ya cotton four play yarn
Please answer me because I like your blanket very much
Hello sohinidoshi! Thank you! This was all worsted weight acrylic yarn. You could use whatever kind of yarn you like as it was just scraps that I had. As long as the fiber is the same for washing you can use what you want. I'm glad you like it and stopped to say so. Have a good day!!
Do you have a C2C pattern that you used? How do you know when to decrease? It's hard to wrap my head around that lol. Both blankets are gorgeous! ❤️
Hi Rebecca! Thank you so much! Here is a link that may be helpful as she uses a chart to help you understand. I saw another woman color in each square as she finished to keep track. Once you get, you'll have it and love it. (Generally speaking, I decrease half way through my yarn so I know I have enough to finish.) You start to decrease when you reach the width you want. Start with this square she does to get the hang of it ua-cam.com/video/KMi60YC60rs/v-deo.html
@@amyluvscrochet6140 thank you!
I spent a lot of time on the c2c blanket and tomorrow's project is to frog it. Allll...
Hi rosimom! Sorry to hear this wasn't the stitch for you. Maybe it'll come together for you at another time. I've revisited patterns I didn't like and ended up changing my mind. Best of wishes to you on your crochet journey! 🙂
I love your work what do you do with your blankets do you sell them I want to buy one please reply
Hello Gita! Thank you very much. My blankets get donated or sold, sometimes gifted. Please send me an email of the blanket you are interested in and what you'd like to offer. If I still have it, I can set it up on my Ebay page and send you the link to complete the purchase. AmyLuvsCrochet@gmail.com

How many crochet chains to do a queen-size blanket
Hiya! The number of chains really depends on your hook size and tension. I would recommend measuring your chain to get the right size. Queen size dimensions are generally 90 x 100 inches.
I made a BC blanket
Hi Charlene! We'd love to see a photo of the blanket. Facebook group facebook.com/groups/3385935898398647 or email it AmyLuvsCrochet@gmail.com
I don't have it I gave to away for a gift and I made Irish one to
Red heart is the best
I just found you but cannot hear you. May I suggest you either speak louder, bring your microphone closer or get a new mic. I cannot hear you unless I max out my tv. Not trying to be critical. I really want to hear what you have to say.
Hi kathy! I appreciate your feedback! I only use my PC for all things UA-cam, so I watched many of my videos on multiple TVs in my house. The volume was fine on all of them. Since I haven't been told this by anyone before, I googled "low volume on UA-cam TV"'. I found multiple answers for why UA-cam TV can be playing at such a low volume. I'm not a techie person, but I keep reading about UA-cam changed the way they send the sound out and there is a 5.1 setting that needs to be turned off. Most chat threads I saw said this fixes the problem. But it's all based on your system so I can't be any more help than that. Please give that a try. I'd love for you to stay with me. Thank you.
Yo te escucho perfectamente 😊
Love your C2C, I'm currently been working too on a scrap C2C - mines not done yet. The other blanket looks cool too! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Courtney! Thank you! Let us know, have you done other scrap blanket patterns or do you usually stick with the C2C?
I have only done one other scrap blanket held with one main color (light blue) and random scraps held together just doing dc, we call that blanket toasty! ;)
