Hey friends! The yarn I’m using here is a Tedi-specific brand (the store I got it from here in Germany) as far as it says on the label. It says “DIY handmade” and “Maxima” on it but in the specifics it only says Tedi… (you could check tedi.com but I couldn’t find anything 😅) If you want to find similar weight yarn it’s 1000g = 965m as I said in the beginning of the video, 4.5-5mm hook or needles, but I used 8mm 🤗
watching this while finishing up a blanket I also made out of a giant ball of yarn bigger than my head was a treat hehe~ your blanket turned out lovely! the pink is soooo bright, I love it!
Girl! I just saw you’re latest video in Japan and now I’m hooked 🥹 (Maybe this will make sense if you ever watch my next video but I’ve wanted to learn Japanese for forever now) Also congrats on finishing the blanket!! It’s truly something to go through these giant balls in one go 😁 thank you so much!
@@rabiaberceste aaah thank you! I can’t wait to see your latest video now 😁 (and I saw you have several knit with me vids aaaaa a fave!! 🥹) and oh my goodness ikr!? to have that much blanket and not nearly as many ends to weave in… so good 😁💗
this blanket turned out sooo good! this is the best yarn to use especially for blankets!!! you need more subs girl! so glad i found you! cant wait to see more content!
Oh wow! I just made an huge granny square blanket and finished it in a little over a week with about 1-2 s of work a day. I made it to fit a little bigger than a queen bed, and added four rows + a border on the edges of it. I switched colors every other row. So many ends to weave in 🥹
Wow to you actually!! Queen bed? 😍 I feel the pain about the ends.. the first one I showed will hopefully as big as yours with a thousand ends as well.. the way we suffer for our crafts 😅🥰
When doing these and changing colors, can the ends be crocheted over instead of woven in? So far I've been sticking with variegated yarns because I already know the weaving ends is going to deter me. The few projects I've done, the weaving or sewing just kills my fingers because of my carpal tunnel. My fingers go numb in five minutes. I'd love to be able to use other colors and change rows instead of solid squares, but again, the ends are what stop me.
I think you can weave it in as you go but the problem with this kind of blanket or stitch is the gap inbetween so it might show more than in a project that uses a tigher pattern 🤔 Another thing you could do is maybe don’t weave them in completely but kinda fix them a little and then sew another blanket at the backside and that would hide them anyways, I don’t know if there would be any ends showing with time tho.. And the last thing is to just leave the ends and pretend like that’s how it’s supposed to be 😁
@rabiaberceste 😆 that last suggestion! I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do that. The completionist in me would not like that. Weaving in as I go is probably my best option if there are no suitable alternatives, I guess. 🤷♀️ Thanks!! You're so fast to reply. I look forward to more crochet videos of yours!
Honestly I still can’t believe that real people are taking the time to comment on my video 😅 So thank you actually!! And I hope the weaving in as you go goes well, let me know if it does!
Hi Rabia, I’m a new subscriber from The Netherlands 🇳🇱 and I love this video. The colors of the blanket are just gorgeous and it looks so cozy. I say it’s a job well done and I’m looking forward to seeing more videos ❤.
Thank you so much, this made my day honestly!! I‘m glad you liked it and I hope you’ll also like the new kind of content I’ll post soon 🥰 dank je wel? 😁
Either way timed or not I will still stay tuned to see your projects but it does satisfy my curiosity especially when I seen that huge ball of yarn lol
It was fun watching you make this blanket. I also was surprised it didn't turn out larger with the giant skein of yarn. Do you know how many yards you used for the entire blanket?
Yes I definitely hoped it would be larger than that.. but I think it will work with that first one I showed 🙌🏻 I just checked and I’m guessing I used around 1300m which google says is about 1421,7 yards ☺️
That's awesome, hope you're having fun! I found it in a shop called "tedi" but I since then also saw it in an "action", unfortunately I don't really know where you can find it outside of germany..
Do you turn your work each round? Just wondering if i should do that when i make my first blanket or if it'll be fine just to continue all around without turning.
I didn’t turn for this one but I turned for the first one I showed, the one with the color change. I have to say if you use yarn that’s anything between 3-6 mm I would definitely recommend turning! I saw it in a youtube video and it made the smaller one definitely sturdier, I can look for that video and link it if you want ☺️
Of course! So this is the link: ua-cam.com/video/UwASEw8P6h0/v-deo.htmlsi=3V9rFCHnS_W75rEb I hope it works and I just looked again, it’s from 1:26-3:55 and the chapter is titled “important tip”, hope that helps! 🤗🫶🏼
I’m really not trying to gatekeep 🤣 It says “DIY handmade” and this one is called “Maxima” but it actually is a Tedi (the store I got it from) specific brand as far as I know.. Maybe you can find something similar with the measurements: 1000g equal 965m, it says 4,5-5 but as you saw I used 8 😊
Are you bilingual? I didn’t notice any accent whatsoever. It was only when I saw the egg carton that I knew you must be licated in Germany. 😊 I don‘t think the colours aren’t pretty. I like the blanket.

As soon as I saw the yarn your friend got you I started thinking about one of those bolero shrugs would be perfect for it
You mean those crochet shrugs? 🤔 That could work, I thought about a beanie but right now it’s waiting for the right inspiration 😁
@@rabiaberceste yes those super cute crocheted net shrugs 😁
I will look into it 😎 thank you!!
Super cool and it looks so warm! Thank you for timing it. It gives me an idea of how long it might take to achieve a similar project. 💜
Yayy, I’m glad that helped you! 💖 Should I start timing all of my projects? 🤔
Either way timed or not I will still stay tuned to see your projects but it does satisfy my curiosity especially when I seen that huge ball of yarn lol
Beautiful blanket!!
Thank you! 😍🥰
Yes! I'm doing this but with a rectangular version of the pattern
Awesome!! I thought about doing it rectangular at first but I also honestly thought it was going to get much bigger than this so it should be fine… 🤣
It was fun watching you make this blanket. I also was surprised it didn't turn out larger with the giant skein of yarn. Do you know how many yards you used for the entire blanket?

Nicely done! This was a great video, I had fun listening and watching while crocheting my own projects. :)
Thank you so much, that’s awesome! 😍 What’s your current project?
Your blanket turned out beautiful. I would love to find a huge ball of yarn like you did; my goal would also to make a continuous granny blanket. ❤
Thank you so much! You should definitely try it, even if you don’t find a 1 kg ball, just a few more ends to weave in 🤣
im working on a granny square blanket right now as watching this
Awesome 🥳 How big are you going to make yours?
I think your blanket is lovely.
Thank you! I’m happy others like it as well 🥰
❤️❤️love🥰 I want crochet for my son🥰
That’s awesome 😍🥰
Really like the colours! Watching this video makes me want to crochet one myself ; ). New subscriber : )
Thank you so much!! Definitely go for it, it’s such a nice addition around my home now 🥰🥰
Where did you purchase 1kg of yarn? Love it. I’m also doing a granny blanket.
That's awesome, hope you're having fun!
I found it in a shop called "tedi" but I since then also saw it in an "action", unfortunately I don't really know where you can find it outside of germany..
Iconic. Literally doing this myself ASAP
This is my first “iconic” and I’m loving it 😁 definitely make one for yourself!!
@@rabiaberceste hehe 😍 I will! And I'll give you a shout out for the inspo 😜
That was awesome
Thank you!
i went to tedi last weekend and i saw one of those giant yarn balls! kinda regret not buying it, but 20 euro, yeesh
Oh yes! It was my only yarn purchase for that month 🥲 They have one with really bright colors now, I wish I could’ve bought that back then but oh well
Great job!
Thank you! 🤗
I don't test swatch I just start crocheting and if I don't like the gage or tenon I just frog the whole thing and start over so I don't waste any yarn
Yo igual quisiera un ovillo de ese tamaño para mis proyectos grandes ❤
Your blanket is beautiful 🤩 thank you for sharing😇would you be kind enough to share the pattern? Thank you in advance🥳

What is the brand of your yarn? Where did you purchase it?
❤ The giant skien . Where can I get this? I ❤ yarn,.
I got it from a store called „Tedi“ here in Germany, I’m not really sure where you can find it anywhere else 😕 but I hope you do!
Can you give us the brand name? I saw DIY bu can’t read the whole label.@@rabiaberceste
