- Part 2 of my 2003 Olympia training
During the 2003 Mr. Olympia contest prep I trained harder than I ever did for any other show in my life. Everyone was saying I was washed up and that my run was over. I was at war everyday to prove them wrong. Here is a short glimpse into what one of those days were like.

Ronnie Coleman is a retired International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB) Professional Body Builder and is a 8x Mr. Olympia title holder. He owns and operate his own Company, Ronnie Coleman Signature Series™.
I love how this is not some fancy ass gym. It just has everything he needs and he builds his legacy on hard ass work.
This was similar to my gym before it unfortunately closed down due to the virus. It was on the third floor of an old metal factory in town from long ago. Metal Health in Wallingford, CT. Their trademark was we always played just old school metal and rock, hence why the gym was named after Quiet Riots album, which fit perfectly. Brick walls, a few windows, no ac, rows and rows of somewhat rusted dumbells, solid steel older machines etc. If you were hot, open a window or grab one of those metal industrial fans we had. Noone in there on their phones and everyone was cool with eachother. They were like my second family to me. I loved this environment and I miss it everyday. I've been putting together my garage gym for right now but man it ain't the same.
@@Mikey-1990 how is it going now
@@nirvbopeep7240 I just recently got a full power rack installed. Now I love having my own private gym. I expanded the garage to fit some additional equipment. Just buying some used stuff online for cheaper that's still in really good condition. I have everything I need in there.
Don’t forget today’s drugs!
@@Mikey-1990 Nice man , i never experienced a thing like this in the gym cause on my city only have 2 gyms and both its like planet fitness but poor version , i dont have a partner or something , and recently i get into a gym , but i have big dreams there.
His lightest warmup is my heaviest workout till now .
He's a professional athlete
What do you expect?
yeah buddy
Pretty savage reply but.....believe me that's a myth🤷♂️
@Samuel Thompson the goat of all time
@@ClutchClick goat already means greatest of all time, "goat of all time" would be greatest of all time of all time
i once saw this comment at one of ronnies video, that saying the black dude in blue shirt got his gains from passing weights to ronnie
Tuturu hahahah thats awesome
That black guy in the blue shirt is an IFBB Pro, Gus Carter
AHHAHAHAHAHA
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
the only bb who is always humble and never brags about his fame and possessions- a true inspiration God bless bro
Ronnie8...I don't expect you to respond to this but I can see through my own training that most people didn't and still don't really understand where you were coming from. Too may count on good genetics and other things, but that real push to the limit to be the very best, few really understand.
Mark Richardson But so is hard work as well. Look at guys like Rich Gaspari who beat guys that he should not have but he simply outworked them. Yes genetics are key, but its not the only factor buddy!
Mark Richardson Few have the structure to be a IFBB pro, very few indeed. But as long as you do it in a healthy fashion it is very beneficial. I could never be an IFBB pro either but I love the natural bodybuilding lifestyle, it is great and I get great benefits as well as many others.
Black boy🤔🤣😂
This is what I'm talking about. Bringing that old footage out the archives.
Yessirrrrr
Mad respect to J, he went toe to toe with Ron. That was incredible.
No need for music Big RON. The sound of iron is our favorite. YEAAAH BUDDY!!!!

The mass that big Ron was able to carry was insane. Even during his off-season he still looked like he was in Olympia prep.
Which he was and why he won 8 titles in a row. GOAT!!!!
Historic footage. Incredible. Sounds and looks of a real, no frills, hard core gym. Did you see the dust fly up 16:10 when he dropped the weight on the mat! Dungeon tiger....

Totally worth it. Everybody lookin at me in the gym when i scream yeah buddy and my friends kinda thinks its fun.
Thanks ron. God bless you
God bless you too Isac
Yeaaaaaaaaaah Buddy!
He really was doing front delt raises with 60lbs... Thats fckin insane
@InTheAir1122 Can you even do overhead presses with 60s?
@InTheAir1122 Congratulations, you don't need front raises.
@InTheAir1122 I know and I'm saying not only do you not need it but it could be more counterproductive than anything, if you're a natural athlete. It is not even an exercise that allows for consistent progressive overload, which means every now and then you have to cheat so you can hold more weight doing some shoulder flexion and then decrease the weight a little to go back to proper form, hopefully with more weight than you used prior to cheat protocol. In other words you can't even get strong to the point where you can just swing 60s with a momentum if you stick to strict front raises for your whole life. And once again I think they're unnecessary in the first place.
@InTheAir1122 Do ya realise what ya said ,he won 8 MR Olympias and ya criticise his form .Aint knowbody trains strict .Cheat and grow
I disagree. His form was good. You gotta lean back a little with that much weight and even with the bit of swinging he still gave his front delts a hell of a workout and it showed.
Mass with Class = Ronnie Coleman!
Bien
Greatest joke I've heard
Class?
True GOAT, sad that he has paid dearly for all the work.
Ronnie Coleman legs day...The gym owner borrows extra plates from the nearby gyms
😂😂💯
@Jay arr wrong. I went to a gym similar to this for years and it had hundreds and that shoulder machine with the lat raise and press
@Jay arr wasn’t this exact one but it was built exactly the same. Last time I was at that gym was 10 years ago. They had it when I first started that gym in 96. Excellent superset machine and one of my favorites of all time. Was the only gym I’ve ever seen it in personally. This video is the second time I’ve seen one
Ronnie is nothing short of a legend!! Love this dude! So inspirational!! Hope your recovery is coming along well !! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
There’s something legendary about the gym being so down to earth & rusty. Ronnie def fits that champion outlier vibe.
Such an inspiration... Ronnie Coleman is the GOAT of Bodybuilding!!!
the beat 🎧 😏 is killing Ronnie Coleman forever respect 💪😎👊
"dont nobody else try this" 😂😂
Thank you ronnie 🙏
That is easily the greatest shoulder machine ever created
What machine.
The best bodybuilder of ALL TIMES!!!! Size, shape, proportion, all at their best and highest level!! No one will ever match his achievements at least not in my lifetime!!!

Love your enthusiasm and determination Ronnie! I used to BB back in the late 80's to late 90's, and only competed a couple times! I used to read the BB mags a lot then....And when I saw you the 1st time...You WOWED me, with your amazing sentry and esthetic look....Love your honesty too! If anybody can beat the odds, it would be you, "YEAH BUDDY"....Gods speed!✌👍👌
Its fun to see how everyone starts to be depressed when ronnie comes in the gym

All those songs on the radio in the background, bring back so many memories!

HE HAS GOT HIS OWN PERSONAL GYM,, I BET HE GOT CHICKENS SOMEWHERE IN THE BASEMENT
Underrated comment😂😂
Lol yea😂😂
If so not for long. He probably eats two whole chickens as a post workout meal.
I once saw an interview with Kai Greene talking about Ronnie Coleman, and how great bodybuilders often take all the pain and adversity in their lives & use that anger as the energy to move insanely heavy weight. He said something like “imagine the amount of rage and torment it would take to get under a squat rack & squat 800lbs”
watching this though, it seems like he’s having the time of his life & loving every minute of it
5:00 Look at that guy in the background lol
The true mr olympia
was he trying to do some abs or what was that supposed to be
It looks awkward but that is a legit ab exercise. Phil Heath has done it
😂😂😂
Tomn8er Lmao "legit ab exercise"
U don’t know nothing about good form don’t you buddy?
from the music in the background to big ron lifting weights this is straight memories
One person told me that using gloves is a cheat, I don’t train without gloves
Ronnie Coleman:- Lightweight baby
i looked at two ronnie coleman training video dvds. and he did completely different routines for each bodypart in the dvds.. the 2003 video had more machine exercises.. the previous video which had the 800lb deadlift was entirely barbells. amazing. hail the king
4:55 the guy in the back doing neck day
Neck day is very important
What he's doing is a core exercise , for that true abs definition 🤙
Ronnies charisma is fantastic.

20 year old video.
Ronnie still the GOAT
I miss Ronnie at this size!!
Man no video in recent times no bodybuilder today motivates you more than big Ron did. You can just tell Ron was the big deal and trained fkn hard not like these fancy machines everybody has nowadays.
Success is when no one in the comments section on any of your workout videos can outlift you...
Pure focus on the work out. No fucking smart phones or any other distractions!
DONT blame the distractions, just improve your focus !
We need to clone ronnie colemans genetics, what a legend
There is a reason Ronnie is called the king. #GOAT
Yes. This is a real Ronnie Coleman UA-cam account
This video should be shown in all gyms
13:30 this dude was a real oldschool beast. he is shrugging 290kg. wow. most bodybuilders are doing this with 30kg dumbbells because they are afraid of getting injured. It sucks!
I know bro fuckn insane!!!

CliffHuxtableSweater that would've been the workout for me

Hey Ronnie, massive fan of yours here from the UK. I have been following your bodybuilding career since your first Mr Olympia win in 1998 and was lucky enough to watch you win the 2004 Grand Prix, in London. To me, you are and always will be the G.O.A.T!! I had a quick question - With the benefit of hindsight, do you think if you complimented your insane bodybuilding/power lifting sessions with some regular holistic training sessions like yoga to help with body alignment and muscle/body tightness etc , maybe you could have prolonged your career that bit longer and also avoided long term injuries? Peace and Love from the UK!! #YEAHBUDDY #LIGHTWEIGHT
Always gets me pumped
