Whose better? Depends, prime Jay was a monster, prine Ronnie was a master and for me i can't even decide who would win if they were both on their prime.
No one knows whos more passionate. Hook them up to lie detectors, and they will (likely) both truthfully state, that, they themselves are the most passionate. I have a simpler explanation; Ronnie has superior genetics, he can put on more mass than most elite athletes, natural and enhanced. Passion ≠ time in the gym. Someone like, Jay Cutler, would have to do more work, and more drugs, in order to compete with Ronnie.
Yeah.. I respectfully disagree with you though. Ronnie is 9 years older than Jay. Jay obviously loves the sport, just as much as Ronnie. But to say he was MORE passionate is certainly unfounded. It’s only natural Jay eventually surpassed Ronnie, but even Jay recounts stories of Ronnie and other top bodybuilders, and how Ronnie just loved bodybuilding, while it was definitely a chore for many.

Flex Wheeler is the epitome of what you were talking about with not being able to tell if some of his sets were warm-ups or work sets lol he was the most gifted lazy bodybuilder of all time
I saw Ronnie in Birmingham in 2013/2014 (don't remember the exact year) when he was still massive during a bodybuilding expo. Even though he was off season - had stoppped competing - he really stood apart from the rest of the bodybuilders that were there and almost all of them were competing. He was the definition of a MASSIVE human being, I couldn't believe how big he was. His head was so tiny compared to this body and width in general.
Love your vids. I'm just an overweight guy who's started doing a lot of exercise (stretching, weights, jogging) over recent weeks because my doctor told me I needed to get healthier. Full ROM, pause at the bottom, stretch, make the rep harder rather than easier and so fourth. I have seen the best gains ever and I am very thankful that this is all free. Thank you

@@LucLB01 tbh thats why i want to see an rp vid on it. I want to know what their thoughts are on trainning, and how it could be improved using a more scientific approach. @@Muschelschubs3r You're not very bright are you? You don't understand nuance or context, you want to try to get a one up on something while speaking like a fool. That's not the point of "Handling gear well" goddamn.
I found that with back exercises my forearms were the weakest link. I agree, you just can't get enough weight and reps in to do serious back. I did wide grip behind the neck pullups with weights, and lat pulldowns with more weight than I weighed. Straps made a huge difference.
Seeing how positive and down to earth Ronnie was on all footages we can see of him, it’s no wonder he could handle those drugs well. Being able to manage your stress and keep one’s peace of mind it’s crucial for any athlete, even more so in bodybuilding.
Best real talk I've heard in a long time. How lifters handle the heat at that level, my God this is so true. Genetics are much more than the outward appearance, its health, and the mental. " This stuff can fuck your mind to hell and back". Ronnie was made for this stuff.

It’s only natural Jay eventually surpassed Ronnie, but even Jay recounts stories of Ronnie and other top bodybuilders, and how Ronnie just loved bodybuilding, while it was definitely a chore for many.
We need a Markus Rühl Episode.
real
There’s no footage of his training
The most muscular tuna fish shake critique video of all time
@@adamakhsas2600 there is a lot on his channel
Believe me there is@@adamakhsas2600
Holy shit that sponsor segment was good, even buy your standard
The video we've all been waiting for. YEAH BUDDYYYYYYY!
Dr. Mike, looking frigging good brother! Chest is popping. Just started the video - this will be epic. Love RP - thanks for everything you guys do!
The Olympia duels between him and Jay are legendary. Best era of bodybuilding in my opinion.
loved the ronnie impression lol
I want to express my deep gratitude for the time and effort you put into sharing your knowledge. Not everyone is willing to share so generously of themselves and their expertise, especially considering the depth of understanding and knowledge you possess. The fact that you make your content available on youtube shows a genuine desire to contribute to the learning and development of others, something that is incredibly valuable in today’s world.
Your ability to explain complex topics in a clear and engaging way allows me as a beginner to the world of bodybuilding to truly appreciate the subject. It’s evident that you care about your audience gaining a deeper understanding, and that’s something I really appreciate.
I know there’s a lot of work behind each video you create, and it’s so incredibly generous of you to make this knowledge accessible to everyone. You are making a real difference, and I hope you realize how much your efforts mean to those of us who watch. Thank you for educating and inspiring us. I look forward to continuing to learn from you. Being able to take part of your perspective is so invaluable, it's insane. Thank you once again!
Why do you sound like chatgpt?
@@AkashGupta-tj5ft Idk, why do I?
@@eriksamuelsson6412 Because every comment longer than 5 lines and 2 paragraphs is chatGPT to people nowadays
I love the fact that when Ronnie does the dumbell presses the guy behind him tries to spot both Ronnie and the bench at the same time
by far one of the best and insightful video I've ever watched on You tubebe
Flex Wheeler is the epitome of what you were talking about with not being able to tell if some of his sets were warm-ups or work sets lol he was the most gifted lazy bodybuilder of all time
Man the "how many choo choo train sounds do you make" line made me laugh myself to tears.
Imagine being caught by the cops and Ronny steps out of the police car 😂 instant peace and noo resisting 😂😂😂
@@satanmitdengeilenbarthaaren Hahaha! 🤣
Love your vids. I'm just an overweight guy who's started doing a lot of exercise (stretching, weights, jogging) over recent weeks because my doctor told me I needed to get healthier. Noticing my waistline already getting looser and my body feeling more bendy and alive is great.
Even just cutting my excessive fluid intake has stopped me feeling like an overinflated beachball, which was a nice instant result from my adjustments.
Yes bro that’s all it takes. Couple months maybe a year and you’ll be beast. Keep me posted brother
@@John.F.Kennedy-16 Cheers for the encouragement. Yeah good stuff. What I'm doing is benefiting most parts of my shape/body (rather than, say, just dieting or just running), and I think that's what gives it the extra sense of achievement. Finding a proper, better shape.
@@mikefoster6018 that’s the best kind of workouts for someone who has health and longevity in mind. It’s a perfect start. You’re already better than 60% of people. They don’t even realize they need to exercise before it’s too late
I love the respect you show Ronnie here Mike. What a legend. And that impression is straight up 🔥 mate!

The massive amounts of gear helped too lmao.
@@reddragon4482 some people don't respond well to it Coleman did use an absurd amount but he also responded to it like nobody else. Even when he was natural he was big.

AIN'T NOTHIN TO IT BUT TO DO IT
6:23 dude you cant start a Monologe and play ronny posing at the same time i did not hear a single word
Bro seriously….
I was pissed off before watching ur videos but after watching couple videos your vibes and energy is goodski and very chill / funny ski.
💯💯 Thank you
dr. mike doing an impeccable impression with the lisp is the thing I never thought I needed until now
The “basic stuff “ is legendary 😂😂
17:48 Mike's Ronnie impression got me dying . 200 tholid ash pounths!
These are my favorite videos.
I dont really leave comments often but hell yeah I love the editor , amazing work and production
That was great. Ronnie is one of a kind, what a beast. And your impression was really good👌
At 18:33... would you say he goes harder than last time?
The transition to the verse grip ads are getting way too smooth it’s getting scary
Nah that was predictable tbh
I'm trying to work my weak ass up to the 100lb dumbbells so seeing someone manhandle 200s is crazy 😂
Hi dr. Mike, i first set foot in a gym last spring, but u didn’t know what u was doing until like February where I started to learn more technique and take it serious, about 2-2,5 months ago I discovered you and immediately I implemented your techniques. Full ROM, pause at the bottom, stretch, make the rep harder rather than easier and so fourth. I have seen the best gains ever and I am very thankful that this is all free. Thank you
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH BUDDY
Dr. Mike has the SMOOTHEST plugins! 😂 Great video!
Would love to see you do a critique of some Strongman training stuff!
Yes i would love to hear the RP take on strongman trainning
Honestly a lot of strongman training is just lifting heavy stuff to show you can do it. There is technique to it but not much science. Which is by no means a bad thing, it’s one of my favourite things to watch.
Brian Shaw babyyyyyy
@@LucLB01 tbh thats why i want to see an rp vid on it. I want to know what their thoughts are on trainning, and how it could be improved using a more scientific approach.
Ik itll boil down to the same stuff they always talk about, but i never get tired of hearing it stated in new ways in different contexts
This sounds like you're describing the kid from the Cyberpunk series: "The reason he was so amazing is that his body could just handle the gear so well."
You think you're special because you're scrapy ?
Ronny is a cripple by now. Obviously his body could not handle it.
@@Muschelschubs3r You're not very bright are you? You don't understand nuance or context, you want to try to get a one up on something while speaking like a fool. That's not the point of "Handling gear well" goddamn.
2:10 that's a smile to protect
I found that with back exercises my forearms were the weakest link. I agree, you just can't get enough weight and reps in to do serious back. I did wide grip behind the neck pullups with weights, and lat pulldowns with more weight than I weighed. Straps made a huge difference.
Seeing how positive and down to earth Ronnie was on all footages we can see of him, it’s no wonder he could handle those drugs well.
Being able to manage your stress and keep one’s peace of mind it’s crucial for any athlete, even more so in bodybuilding.
01:00 Don´t forget the Emperor of Mankind. I mean look how jacked he is.
8:15 Bro is just scratching his balls with the bar
I need a Markus Rühl Video!!
Grüße aus Deutschland🇩🇪
You have to look Markus Rühl he was a beast in bodybuilding.
Amazing lecture, coach! Incredible athlete!
Finally, been waiting for Dr Mike react to Ronnie Coleman. How about Eugen Sandow next,Dr Mike? If that's possible
Best real talk I've heard in a long time. How lifters handle the heat at that level, my God this is so true. Genetics are much more than the outward appearance, its health, and the mental. " This stuff can fuck your mind to hell and back". Ronnie was made for this stuff.
Dr. Mike, used you advice and picked up some Versa Gripps. Back training has gone to a completely different level!
How was it? U managed to carve out extra reps out? Been thinking bout using straps but still contemplating it.
Really really liked this, a very respectful evaluation.
