Spark plug change: 2017 Honda Civic

- Basic steps in changing spark plugs. This 10th generation Civic EX had 108k miles at the time of service. The plugs were the original. Engine: K20C2. New spark plugs: NGK LKAR7BIX-11S. It's a good idea to blow away debris with compressed air after removing the engine cover, but before removing the old spark plugs. This prevents debris from falling into the cylinders.
Thank yoU!
10mm socket for coil bolts
14mm socket for plugs
Torque = Tighten spark plugs to 22 Nm (16 ft-Ibs; 192 in-Ibs)
What type of fluid u calet di coil tu?
Haha U calet haha, Mat Salleh mana faham. Dielectric grease@@reduanhashim6119
Bruh how to measure torque wtf
Straight to the point. None of the "hey guys" or "please subscribe"
I have to comment and totally agree! So tired of people begging for subs, and telling their life story rather that showing the work done.
Just saved me 800 bucks quoted by the dealership, thanks a ton!
Really nice. Thanks for making this. Loved having the socket size, gap and torque all highlighted and in the text . Great quality video too. Did this with my son on his Gen X at 103 k miles and the old spark plugs looked about like what you took out. Definitely showing some wear. Takes a bit of force to loosen the old plugs.
For anyone new to this, just a tip. Do one at a time!! Don't take them all out at once and mix up the coil packs. Make sure you remember where each one goes.
I wish you had put the torque specs in the description. Otherwise great video. No BS talking, just down and dirty hands on. The fact that you use torque wrenches says a lot about you. Great work!
Select CC to see the torque specs. I hope the video was helpful.
They are in the transcript as well as CC as he had stated. Great video and thank you.
I had the same question..thank you for the answer..saved me money 👍
Good video. I was trying to find out where the plugs were, making sure they weren't out of reach. Thought I was going to have to look elsewhere for the torque numbers. Thanks for sharing that as well.
I just got around to doing this and followed exactly and worked out perfectly. That magnetic 14mm socket is pretty key for success so thanks. I used a strong magnet stuck to my socket to hold the other bolts as it would be easy to drop those into the engine otherwise. And vacuumed all around the area cuz mine isn't as nice and clean as yours. You don't wanna drop any dirt down the holes.
due to possible dirt that can get into the engine, it is smarter to change one spark plug at a time. as soon as you unscrew the old one, immediately screw in the new one
That was awesome, thank you! Great lighting and resolution too! Didn't even know people put detailed notes in the transcript; always thought that was just generated by youtube with speech to text.
great video, my local Honda dealer wants £200 to fit new plugs - I shall buy a set and do it myself.
Yes!
Awesome video, thanks for the transcript!
Thank you! This was great!
Quiet and precise!
great job boss
tnks
thank you sir!
Awesome. This is video is nice
What is the gap supposed to be on these? So I can still check to make sure mine are gapped correctly.
The plugs come pre-gapped - do not gap them yourself.
I have 67k/km on my FK7. I'll change it next year. Thanks. I wonder how much my dealer charges. 🤪🤪
If I don’t use a torque wrench will that be a problem?
I am gonna try this brother is the car has not exploted I will back and subscribe to the channel.

Nice video. This is the proper way to do with all the right tools. Torque wrench 🔧 and spark plug socket.
Is there an error code that came up or a light you see what’s the rule of thumb on when to replace spark plugs my 2016 civic touring is at 141k KMs right now.
Service sub-code 4, displayed on the dash.
NGK Spark Plug, the Laser Series are typically designed to last 80 to 100 thousand miles, where as the Iridium IX spark plugs are designed to last 40 to 50 thousand miles.
Did you replace the ignition coils when you did the spark plugs I’m coming up on 90,000 miles on my 2017 Civic touring 1.5 turbo. Was wondering what other maintenance do you think should be done around 100K miles thank you!
Clean the fuel and intake system
can you list torque value
What size engine?
At what mileage did you change the spark plugs?
108k
Usually every 100k. I do mine at 80k just to be safe.
Umm i bought my 17 civic new from dealer... theres no cover....??? Is this normal?
No, my 2021 came the same way...I would contact them and get your engine cover 🤌
what kind of socket is that , that you used to take out the spark plug?

Cc torque specs
Do you need to gap?
No, the plugs come pre-gapped.
I only wish every other auto tutorial was like this one.
What did you use to tighten the spark plugs to 22 Nm?
Torque wrench
Why wasn't he saying anything and explain what he is doing
My videos are for people who despise talking on videos.
look at the captions
Dealership wanted to charge me $351 to do this
