    Omg finally yes!! I've watched every "apex" video and none of them actually explain it fully. I've been dying for a video like this. Thanks Liz! I'm not a licensed tech but sadly still more skilled than many techs in my area. Keep the education coming, love it!!

    • @tunnasch
      @tunnasch 5 років тому +13

      Yep, I've also watched every apex vid I can find and, yep, I stink and I can still create a better apex than the techs who charge me $50 when I don't want to spend the 4-6 hours. They glue on a tip, paint gel over it, and away I go. Really? Coulda done that MASELF, thanks. :/ So thankful for Liz.

    I mean this in the kindest possible way but I love what a freaking nerd you are about things. I am the same way. You're not just doing nails, you are an expert in your field and you know all the technicalities of why things are the way they are or need to be the way they are and I just really admire that level of commitment to a craft.

    I genuinely thought a c curve was just aesthetic, I wasn’t taught that it was a structural necessity in my nail course.

    My gosh! All this time (almost a year now, since I started my interest in nails) I was thinking that with longer nails, you needed the apex to be bigger closer to the tip! Well, you can imagine the problems I’ve been having trying to keep my tips thin enough...lol. This is a game changer for me. Hee hee...Thank you so much! And now I understand the importance of C curves!!! This really helps so much!

    • @AaronW-ww4ds
      @AaronW-ww4ds 2 роки тому +2

      When doing a course for the qualification most dont tell you about c curve and they tell you to start from tip to cuticle area which ends up with way too thick of a nail extention but young nails did a video showing by doing cuticle area first then the tip you end up with a thinner extention and a much better blend

  • @Saphindra

    I love how you find really helpful analogies to the things you want to explain. Using paper to demonstrate the strength of the C-curve is really brilliant! Redundancy is so important when teaching, so all the visuals really help to tie everything together and make it easier to memorize everything.
    The bit about how to find the stress area is sooo helpful as well! You're the best! ♥

    Finally!!! This educational vid regarding apex, c-curve, forms, tips and stress areas explained in a way that makes sense! I sculpt a much better nail than I do when using tips. Because of that, I’ve been watching vids, reading and re-reading and of course always taking courses in new processes and new product. I have struggled with tips like crazy 😝 lol. I got into the habit of using “talons” because I thought it would help... not! After watching your vid, THIS makes complete sense and it all clicked for me! The drawings and references def helped me understand the visual aspect of it all. Thanks so much for doing this video!

    Yaaaaaas girl! Thank you for the architecture lesson! I’m an architectural designer and you are on point with your explanation on the structural strength of the arch and how it applies to nails. I love that your videos go beyond nail aesthetics and go deep into the science behind them. You are hands down the most intellectual nail educator on UA-cam! There are many greats, but your videos are the most in depth. And I love your diagrams and sketches, are you sure you’re not an architect? 😉. You contribute so much in the nail community, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

    Those tips are all we had when we first techs started and you know what trying to create an apex and making a beautiful nail with those was possible and I feel made us better techs, with more experience than most. We’ve had to experience it all to get to the better and the evolution of the nail. We did pinch those tips to get a nice c curve. And I can say without a doubt as a wearer of inch and a half long nails thin doesn’t work. I’ve tried for twenty years no amount of c curve will prevent a break without a great apex. Sometimes it needs to be a high but beautiful. Really depends on the clients and how they wear them, in regards to roughness.

    Thank you so much for this video! I understood the how and why of building an apex, but it has been harder to find information on what a C curve is and what it’s for. Your video explained it perfectly! I’m a DIYer for myself and my mum’s nails and your videos are exactly what I need to give us the best nails I can. I second the other user who requested tips on filing out the gunk on the underside of the nail if you haven’t already.
    The other thing I seem to be missing in my education is on proper cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting my tools! Sure, for now I’m just doing nails for myself and my mum, so my cleaning practices aren’t amazing, but I would love to be able to confidently step up my game. Obviously I don’t have the means to get an autoclave, but I’m sure I can do more than soak my bits in isopropyl alcohol! I’m still making my way through your videos, so maybe you’ve made one on this topic already, but in case you haven’t, I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting a solid how-to-not-spread-infection-to-everyone video.

    This is phenomenal! I will be sharing this with my cosmetology students when they start working on nail enhancements.

    Great video! Sounds ridiculous but I find it easier to sculpt the apex of longer nails than shorter nails. Lockdown is over where I'm from so I can finally start having clients again and this was a good refresher, thank you!

    Liz - I am a DIYer and have been doing my own nails with the same product for 20+ years. I keep looking for a demo of my product but have never seen one. However, in looking for that demo on UA-cam I found The Nail Hub. I am so impressed! I just finished watching the Apex and C-Curve video. I have never understood why and where an apex goes - now I do. You are such a pro and you have true knowledge and understanding of your craft. I appreciate that. Thank you again for your professionalism. I am going to watch all of your videos in order. Thanks again.

    Structurally it makes so much sense. This is eye opening! Having said that... As a girl who hates thick nails in general, I guess this means I gotta stick to shorter nails 💅

    I loved how informative this video is. It's hard to find a video with this much information in it on the apex and c curve. I see so many people use the dual forms and curved tips and I have always hated them and did not find it practical so I'm glad I'm not the only person it drives crazy
