    OMG! I just had a moment of complete clarity!!! I'm a self-taught nail enthusiast... I don't work on any strangers yet but I do my own nails very frequently and I wear them super long. Something has always seemed slightly off though and I could not figure it out for the life of me! No matter how straight the form is or how good it fits, my shapes always come out slightly wonky and kind of fat on the sides of the stress area no matter how much I filed it. Now I know why! I had no idea the form had to be tilted up or down and I did not think that extra little piece of paper would bulk out my shapes. I am beyond happy right now... You are a lifesaver thank you so so much! I've watched a million nail videos and never heard anyone else mention these!❤❤❤❤❤

      I read your comment and I swear it’s like I wrote it. I just do my nails and my 2 daughters. I’m self taught and wear mine in a longer coffin or sniped stiletto shape. I have had my nails done for more than 30 years with acrylic. I have NEVER been without nails, never. I absolutely love this video. I love how this young lady teaches. I was glued to every word she said. Definitely one of my favorite videos yet. I use tips only because I struggle with the forms. Now, I have to try forms again. I’m so excited. Thank You for a great video!❤️

    Just bought nail forms and new curing machine and waiting for it to come. I’ve done tips for a long time and got frustrated in the past using those gold school forms when I was in hairstyling school and given up on forms. We were taught to roll the form and squeeze the tip before putting on. You are the most detailed nail artist on anything on your Chanel. I’ve watched this video like 3 times maybe more. The bone alignment I never new and bird beek I’ve done many times. I’ve always tried to align the side walls instead of concentrating on the centre line. I’m going to try to design a Kitten Nail which is my favourite nail shape. I thank you for this very educational video. God bless you dear lady.🙏🏻

    I used nail forms last night for them first time last night and used builder gel in a bottle. My ring and pink fingers came out so thick and chunky but my ring and first finger are perfect. • @sarapatchkid1835
      @sarapatchkid1835 5 років тому +2

      Tracy U hi! Well since it was my very first time issuing any kind of gel for extensions it was hard. But I bought ORLY’s Builder bottle off amazon and it was pretty runny. I think maybe cause my room was warm but I think it was beginner friendly. I think if you wanna try it, go for the brand The Gel Bottle because it’s got more applications per bottle ,100 or so. ORLY builder bottle only has 16!

    • @sarapatchkid1835
      @sarapatchkid1835 5 років тому

      Tracy U sorry I wrote so much. I just want you to have a good experience:) this week I’m gonna try the builder on plastic tips instead of sculpting forms :)

    • @sarapatchkid1835
      @sarapatchkid1835 5 років тому

      Tracy U yeah The Gel Bottle has a wide color range of builder in a bottle. Orly only has clear! I guess that’s also why I was having a hard time doing my set because I couldn’t see it! Haha. It’s a money saver for sure. I hope one day Liz reviews builder in a bottle

    Iv been struggling and practicing with just applying the nail forms. Just trying to apply everything iv learned on your videos. I have 4 different forms and I’m struggling BUT today I created my first hard gel sculpted nail extension. It’s not 100% perfect but it’s amazingly at 95% perfection. It’s a huge deal for me and I wanted to share that with you. I’d attach a picture of it to the comment if I knew how. I don’t comment on UA-cam videos. I want to be a professional nail tech and I’m saving to go to school. So in the mean time I want to learn and practice as much as possible 💖 thank you so much for your videos.

    This is sooo great!
    I have been doing nails for 15(!!) years and I have ALWAYS sticked to tips because that was the only way they teached us...
    my question now is How do I fit the form to a client that already have the shape of birdbeak on her natural nail?! The gap gets sooo big on the sides!
    Thank you for everything Liz, everyone appreciate your tips and trix

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 років тому +1

      I usually shorten clients' nails all the way down and get rid of any curves or twisting that's currently there. It's ok if there's a bit of a gap which I will show soon. You just need to use a thicker gel that won't seep in the gap.

    I'm completely learning how to do my own nails on UA-cam, and I started with forms because I like to learn the hard stuff first. I've done tips once, but I don't know if I'll ever bother with those again. Forms are so much better even with my wacky wonky fingers and I'm not even close to perfect at it yet. BUT I really wish I had seen this video two days ago before I put my extensions on 😂😂 but thank you Liz! I've seen people cut those little kitten notches before but it never made any sense to me. Now I understand WHY and also realize that I need to be doing that on a couple of my nails. Can't wait for your next video!

    This is seriously one of the best videos that you have made. I loved every second of if. Just one things come to mind and that’s because I watched you video with susi and you tried products that everyone can use, I would really loved if some of the forms that you tried where forms that everyone can buy, like from eBay, not necessarily the shitty gold ones but some other from eBay that’s not shitty, yes there are some really good ones there 😏 and last, you are seriously the best for doing this basics videos, you may know it already, but for real, they are so appreciated!!!!!!

      Actually one of my fave forms are the Gelish Harmony forms. They are usually green or blue. And although they are "professional" you can find them on sites like ebay. My other fave are these Kokoist ones I use here. But unfortunately they really are pro-only. I am currently working on a training program so I can certify anyone to be able to use some of our pro only products. More to come on this soon. It's a huge project so it is taking me some time.

    Your videos are great! I only do my own nails, but I'm even learning things I didn't know about my own nails. So, I have a question: I'm a nail biter, BAD. Into the nail bed bad. So, I started getting them done, but by the "drive-thru" type of shops, as that's all I could find nearby. I wasn't impressed, so started doing my own. My work is hard, manual, dirty work, so long isn't smart; though I do still overdo it. I use tools often, and try to wear gloves, but they break, and ink and grease and dirt find their way in to every cranny. My questions are: what is the best way for me to correct the damage I've done (ALOT), while still having feminine hands that maintain the best adhesion, while still being safe? And, when doing fills, I usually end up removing tons of product, due to some lifting, but mostly because of the inks and greases that have soaked in around the edges. Are there any products that would minimize or stop this from being such an issue? I've tried gels, polygels, acrylics, dips, tips, forms, dual forms, coating both top and bottom in too coats, and keeping nails soaked in cuticle oils. I'm further damaging my nails by removing them so often by picking at edges, or breaking them off. I know this is longer than I anticipated, but I need your help!!

    Omg what an amazing video! When I was learning sculpting, I was given re-usable forms (plastic covered with metal down the sides so they can be bent into shape) and they were awful! I broke all 10 in the first week! I bought myself paper ones from then on! My teaching never taught me how to fit forms or anything!! I learned everything I know from watching other techs on UA-cam and sharing knowledge with techs on Facebook! I do feel much more confident but your video had given me info I never had before!! I believe that as techs we never stop learning and as always I really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos!!! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤❤
